Gift kadabra evolving

I’m playing sinnoh and saw there was someone who trades abra for machop so I accepted since abra is harder to catch , now it’s a kadabra and I’ve bought the psychic tm and I want to evolve it but it says it’s a gift so I can’t therefore making it impossible?? Any help I could get or??

It's not possible to trade gift pokemons, so your Kadabra can't evolve.
