[Money Guide] Community Pickup Guide (2nd Edition)

Testers Needed

Before you read this guide, I would like to thank @KaynineXL for his trust in me to restore his [Money Guide] Community Pickup Guide.

Feel free to check out the First Edition of this guide.

          Notes

  • Your Pokemon with the Pickup ability must be your first party member and must be alive.
  • You acquire loot when you kill random encountered Pokemon in the wild or by capturing them(your pick up Pokemon will be holding the loot).
  • If your pick up Pokemon is already holding an item, the item will automatically go in your bag.
  • The loot varies and changes depending on which route/area you are in.
  • Pickup works in both regions, Kanto, Hoenn, & Unova.
  • Pickup works while Fishing and Surfing!
  • There are two types of loot from Pickup. You can pick up loot when killing Pokemon without any pick up Pokemon, but these are often low value items - we call these 'trainer pick up' and the bold items in this guide show this. The more expensive pick up loot is from pick up using a Pokemon.
  • The Pickup rate is believed to be around 10%.
  • Moves like Trick and Switcharoo only works if you plan on catching the pokemon after you scout for the item. An example of this principle is encountering a wild Snorlax and using Trick to scout for Leftovers. Once you take the Leftovers, the pokemon will need to be caught in order for the item to taken. (Pickup Mechanics and Frisking Items are unrelated)
  • Moves like Thief and Covet work, but you will need to take the item and flee. If the pokemon is knocked out, then the item will not be taken. (Pickup Mechanics and Frisking Items are unrelated)

          Best Pickup Pokemon

  • Ambipom has the strongest attack stat for a pick up Pokemon with 100 base stat and strongest combined stat at 480. However, the issue with Ambipom is that it does not learn a spread move in its movepool cutting down its effectiveness. However, this pokemon does get access to a unique egg move in Switchroo.
  • Linoone is the second strongest overall pick up Pokemon with the combined stats of 420. Linoone has access to trick which can help when you're farming items (such as in the power plant should you be looking for Metal coat/Magnet/Light ball). In select locations, you can use Linoone's spread move in Surf to farm items (a place with weaker pokemon).
  • Teddiursa has the third strongest attack stat out of all the pick up Pokemon with 80 base stat and it can learn Sweet Scent. This pokemon is the only Pickup pokemon that can learn Sweet Scent.
  • Meowth and Munchlax are popular pick up Pokemon as they are the only 2 Pokemon that has access to Pay Day if you want to earn yourself some extra cash. Meowth can learn Pay Day naturally while Munchlax can learn it by using the TM for it. It should be noted that Munchlax has the second strongest Attack stat at 85.

My Summary & Guess:

折叠
  1. 32 times or less beating is enough to test out whether there are items that can be picked up by player or pokemon.but is not enough to test out all items that can be picked up.
  2. Both beating and catching can make player's pickup happen. But only beating can make pokemon's pickup happen.
  3. Items are different (may have intersection) between player's pickup and pokemon's pickup.Player's pickup depends on where player is.
  4. There are some special items for specific places for example:Cave: Enegry RootSurfing:Mystic Water
  5. Pokemon's pickup depends on both where player is and pokemons whose items can be carried.
  6. The items player or pokemon pick up dont depend on which pokemon you beat or catch. There maybe are different rates for different items that can be picked up.

Thanks for inviting,It's a great honor to participate in this great project!

I have been hanging around in Digletts cave for a few days. I manage to find Repel, Super Repel, Super Potion, Soft Sand, Hard Stone and Energy Root. I have however not find a single Max Potion according to the list.

Item Drops are random, so it may drop for you one day. For context, I haven't picked up a Nugget in Undella Bay for a few weeks.

Victory Road:

Potions: Super Potion

Repels: Repel

Balls: Great Ball

Berries/Seeds: n/a

Other: Everstone, Hard Stone?, TwistedSpoon, Energy Root, EnergyPowder

Hey Mayor! I've been trying to shunt Deino these past week since my team's shunt last week was Deino and I didn't have anything better to do. These are the drops I've gotten as I farmed Durant and Deino hordes with my Pickup Meowth.

Two things to note, Rare Candy and Nugget both drop with a really low percentage rate. Sadly, I wasn't able to take screenshots of the Battle log for them.

I also have not seen any TwistedSpoon drop for me, maybe it only drops in single encounters.

I've modified your list accordingly:

Potions: Super Potion

Repels: Repel, Super Repel

Balls: Great Ball, Nest Ball

Berries/Seeds: n/a

Other: Everstone, Hard Stone, BlackGlasses, TwistedSpoon, Energy Root, EnergyPowder, Heal Powder, TinyMushroom, BalmMushroom Rare Candy, Nugget
