Hi there i played for about several hours and am now at the doors to Gym 4 
and i rather ask myself since it looks like it works up to Gen 6 with attacks and pokemon and stuff if there might be a location to find petilil since petilil or rather her Evolution(Liligant)  is one of my Favorite pokemon (it shares 1st place with Guardevoir <3 i Absolutely Adore these two)

You can indeed find them, use GTL and check details on them to find the location.

Petilil can be found in the Unova region specially in Pinwheel Forest, Lostlorn Forest and later Abundant Shrine. It requires a Sun Stone to evolve it to Lilligant. If you are not in/played through Unova, you can buy one off the GTL once you have got your 4th Gym badge.
