1. Right now when you enter tournament mode either in the PokeCenter rankings system or meet places in game and decides to battle in tournament mode all your pokemon will be scaled to level 50. But right now it annoys me quite a bit that I can't see the level 50 stats on my pokemon in battle idk the speed or anything on them, I see how adding a tab with the current stats could be a small problem since that would make it extremely easy to check the IVs of a level 1 Pokemon by scaling it up to level 50 and manually checking the IVs. So instead my suggestion is to add a tab window with the Pokemons stats while it is in battle only for pokemon scaled from level 50 and above, this would also kinda add a "reward" for pokemon which has been spent more time with to level up. As usual discuss. :) EDIT: I tried searching for this but didn't find anything, sorry if it has been already suggested.

 8. I suggest as a better incentive for players to participate in offical events that the most recent official event winner's name be displayed at the top of the screen until theres a new event winner. winners of tournaments/events dont get enough recognition in game imo. this will also help promote events as more and more people wanna have their IGN there for everyone to see. thoughts?
 9. The overarching theme of this suggestion is that we need better in-game tiering support - the way we will get this is through multiple features being implemented. Please do not lock this for 'multiple suggestions', the only way this suggestion works is if all of these are considered as a unit. I think we can safely acknowledge that there are several issues with the way tiering currently happens: Some people feel as though their voices don't matter in tiering discussions The way tiering decisions are made is somewhat obscure The people ultimately responsible for making the final decisions in tiering have not been selected by either the community or staff - they are largely self-appointed and self-regulating The tier lists are 'official' but aren't. As long as the staff refuses to recognize a list as the 'official' list then there will be disagreement Probably more that aren't coming to me off the top of my head Now a couple of points to address. I don't believe that everyone has the right to vote in a tiering decision - that would be moronic. In competitive games some people are objectively better than others, and people who are not at a certain level of skill should not be allowed to make deciding votes. While they can certainly voice their opinion/arguments, they do not have the qualifications to make the decision I personally agree with the vast majority of tiering decisions that have been made under the current system. This is not an attack at anyone who currently or has ever ran one of these lists. However I think it is important that the methods of choosing our tiering leaders, as well as the methods of the decision making process, are clearly understood by the competitive community. I don't care if everyone agrees with the decisions made, or if the decisions made are 'good' ones. I care that they were made for a specific reason, and that everyone is able to identify the reason So how do we address these issues? For the first one - we need to clearly define how people can give input on tiering decisions, what sort of input is acceptable, and who can give input. For the second one - we need to clearly define what makes a pokemon 'broken' or 'overpowered' in a certain meta, and we need to clearly define who judges these criteria. For the third one - we need to have a system where the competitive community is able to select their leaders. More on this in a bit. For the fourth one - it is fine and dandy that the staff won't make tiering decisions - in fact I think it is a great call by them. That being said I think they do need to be more involved with the decision making process. An official list(s) needs to be created, and official 'caretakers' of the list(s) need to be selected (see number 3). So how can we do this? In game support for suspect testing. This requires a couple of steps. 1. Deciding what to suspect test:
Just like right now, members will suggest pokemon that should be moved from tier A to tier B for X reasons. Other members may post their arguments for or against, as we currently do. After X amount of time (would likely vary case by case) certain members (see problem 3) of the community, in conjunction with Competition Alley moderators, would decide if the suggested pokemon should be: quickbanned suspect tested left alone One of these individuals will post a thread explaining their decision, as well as what comes next. If something is deemed so incredibly OP that it must be quickbanned then they will give their justification, as well as the vote for/against the decision (ie if X number of people were for, and Y number were against). This thread should then be locked to avoid flaming/shitposting/crying/etc. If something is to be suspect tested a similar thread will be made outlining the characteristics of the pokemon that merit its suspect testing. This thread should also indicate the dates (probably a month, although it'll depend on how much community involvement there is) for which suspect testing can occur. This thread should remind players of the major points to consider: Was the object of the suspect testing (ie curselax) hard to counter? And if so, why? In order to counter it did you have to structure a majority of your team around it? IE, if the thing being suspected (ie curselax) were banned, would your team look substantially different (in moveset/EVs/IVs/Nature/pokemon choice)? Was this pokemon ubiquitous in the tier? Meaning do you see it everywhere? If you used this pokemon, why? While using it did you notice that this pokemon could consistently perform in the suspect manner? Did you notice that most people had a hard time countering and dealing with this pokemon? Did you notice that several pokemon were almost always used for (seemingly) the purpose of dealing with this pokemon? More that I haven't thought of. This thread should remain open in order for players to post their valid feedback (ie feedback that covers the points above). If something is not to be suspect tested, a different thread will be made explaining why, as well as the vote. This thread should be locked to avoid flaming/shitposting/crying/etc.
2. The actual testing:
Once something has been selected for suspect testing we should probably, you know, test it. In game ranked battles in the suspected tier will be reset so that everyone starts fresh. All battles conducted in the time frame of the suspect testing will be a competition for the right to be heard on the subject. All members who have a rank above XXX (I'd say top 20% or something, depending on how many people participated) earn the right to participate in the final vote. Other members may still give their valid feedback (see above) but will not be allowed to vote. All tournament battles in the suspected tier should count towards their ranking for suspect testing purposes. There should also be an explanation in game for suspect testing. The ranked battle interface should have a tooltip explaining what suspect testing is (perhaps linking to a thread on the forums explaining it all) as well as what is being suspect tested and for what reason.
3. Voting:
Once the suspect testing period has been completed, a new thread for this pokemon will be opened. For some time (I'd say 1 week) members will have their last chance to voice their valid arguments for or against the ban. At any point in this period members who have earned the right to vote may cast their vote, yes/no. They have the right to change this at any time. This could be in game or on the forums, I'm not sure which would be easier either logistically or programming wise. If at the end of the time period there is a tie, members of the tier council (see below) will discuss and vote among themselves, with their final verdict being announced within some amount of time (lets say 24 or 48 hours).
4. The ban and aftermath:
Once the ban has been decided it should come into effect immediately - CA moderators should have the in game ability to edit ban lists for various tiers. Afterwards rankings will have to be adjusted - I'm not positive on how. There are a few options: If the ban was successful, reset the ladder to reflect the new meta If the ban was successful, use the previous rankings and suspect test rankings to decide new rankings. Exact methods would have to be discussed. If the ban was unsuccessful, use some combination of the original rankings and suspect test rankings to determine new rankings. Exact methods would have to be discussed Of course, anything that has been banned may be suspect tested again - however there should be a time period of at least 1 month from its banishment before it can be brought up again
Other points: There should never be suspect testing in more than one tier at a time, and there should never be more than one thing suspected at a time There should always be a time period (say 1 month) after a ban before a new pokemon can be suspect tested - the meta should be allowed to settle first The ruling council should not be static - if someone becomes inactive or no longer meets certain qualifications they should be removed. Ruling Council: They should be selected from an elite tier of players - for arguments sake lets say the top 100 players. From there either a ranking tournament is held among those interested, with the top X (where X is odd) players becoming members of the council, or a vote amongst competitive players of a certain rank (lets say top 20%) for some odd number of council members. This selection should not be for life - I'd say every 6 months or more frequently as needed. There should also be some method by which the players or the council can remove members of the council if they are found to suck at tiering. Final comments: I don't care if you feel that most PokeMMO players are unqualified to make tiering decisions. In fact I agree that most probably have no idea what they are doing with that regard. However I feel that it is very important that the PokeMMO community makes its own tiering decisions, as shitty as they may be. If you do not participate in the PokeMMO competitive meta, you don't get to vote. Sorry Senile. "However I feel that it is very important that the PokeMMO community makes its own tiering decisions, as shitty as they may be." We make our own bed, so we can sleep in it. Please leave your feedback below EDIT: This would also be greatly helped by the creation of a 'Competitive Discussion' subforum in CA.
 10. I Have an idea for the future!... We know regions will be added in the soon So why not take control of a region! Kanto Region: Lets say All the Adm's and Gm's host a tournament where the best of the best teams fight to own the Kanto region. Where if you enter the region a message comes up saying that for example: Cobalt Knights [CMjr] Reign over the Kanto region Leader: Officers: Members: Including that their Team Tag glows with a certain color so people know they own the region There are simple rules such as if they want to keep there place in the world of pokemon they have to stay the champion of the region so if next tournament the title for Kanto region is up for grabs... So if 6 teams wish to own Kanto they have to compete against each other and when there i one left they must fight the Reigning Champions! Now this is just and idea but it would make the Competitive world alittle more exciting There are rumors and talk of the Hoenn Region being added as well as the Johto (Sometime soon) But just imagine your team being noticed for owning a Region I could see this being a great way to show how strong your team is and that you can hold your own in the world of PokeMMO In my opinion this is an awesome idea. :D Thanks for the support! Leave some feedback about what you think and other ideas that could work with this one.
 11. Want to be part of an active team? Want to participate in tournaments and create tournaments to gain more power in the team? Well send me a message or a whisper (AshTeam). We will specialise in the new Mini Cup Tournaments for Level 1 pokemon, but would be glad to help you train and get ready for other tournaments. So get joining :D
Headquarters on channel 7 4 island
12. Alright, I understand that we don't really have a (official) model on which to base players, the tournaments they play in, and the rankings they get for performing in these tournaments. I have thought of a way to produce such a system, to allow fast, streamlined battling, and along with this, a competitive atmosphere for others to enjoy. ==================================================================================================== Possible Tournament Formats: GSL/GOMTV League Format: Details: Code S [All group play is Bo3] Ro32: 8 groups of 4 played in dual tournament mode. 1st+2nd place advance to Code S Ro16. 4th place drops to Code A Ro48 of that same season. 3rd place drops to Code A Ro32. That means that it is possible to drop from Code S out of the GSL completely in the same season. This can happen if you lose in the Code S Ro32 (4th place) and lose in the Code A Ro48 after that. If you finish 3rd in the Code S Ro32 you will drop to the Code A Ro32. If you lose there you will drop to Up&Down matches and have the chance to regain Code S Status for next season or drop to Code A. Ro16: 4 groups of 4 played in dual tournament mode. 1st+2nd place advance to Ro8 and have automatically secured a spot for next season’s Code S. 3rd+4th place drop to Code A Ro24 of that season. If you win in the Code A Ro24 you will secure a spot for next season’s Code S, if you lose you drop to Up&Down and get another shot. Ro8 – Final are played in regular tournament mode. Ro8+Ro4 are Bo5, Final is Bo7. Code A [All matches are Bo3] Ro48: 40 players who qualified for Code A + 8 players who dropped down from Code S Ro32. Regular tournament mode, 24 players advance to Code A Ro32, 24 players are eliminated from Code A and have to requalify next season. Ro32: 24 players from Code A Ro48 + 8 players from Code S Ro32 (3rd place). Winners advance to Ro24, losers drop to Up&Down. Ro24: 16 players from Code A Ro32 + 8 players from Code S Ro16 (3rd+4th place). Winners advance to Code S next Season. Loser drops to Up&Down. Code A finishes with the Ro24, further rounds are not played out. Up&Down Matches A total of 30 players will compete for 10 spots in Code S. These players consist of 16 players who lost in the Code A Ro 32, 12 players who lost in the Code A Ro24 and 2 seeded players. 5 groups of 6 people will be formed. All players in a group play each other. The Top 2 of each group will advance to Code S, the rest will be Code A for next season. For the 2012 series the season now always starts with the Up&Down matches, the first season of 2012 will therefore begin in late December of 2011 with the first batch of Up&Down matches. Dual tournament format [used in Code S Ro32 and Ro16] - The 4 players of each group are split into two pairs and play each other Bo3. - The winners of these matches will then face each other in the ‘Winner’s match’. The victor will be 2:0 and 1st in the group. - The losers of the initial matches face each other in the ‘Loser’s match’. The loser will be 0:2 and 4th in the group. - The loser of the Winner’s match and the winner of the Loser’s match will face each other. The winner will be 2:1 and 2nd, the loser will be 1:2 and 3rd in the group. Example: 4 players A,B,C,D. G1: A vs B G2: C Vs D G3: Winner of G1 vs Winner of G2 (Winner = 1st) G4: Loser of G1 vs Loser of G2 (Loser = 4th) G5: Loser of G3 vs Winner of G4 (Winner = 2nd, Loser = 3rd) With our new system we’ll be able to provide you with a lot more games, more excitement and an even fiercer competition for Code S. The season now also runs for over 2 months and the possible amount of played matches has almost doubled! =========================================================================================== Pros: This format would allow more players the opportunities to play and have a chance at winning the tournament/season. We could live-broadcast each match with commentary to further the competitive aspect and increase the entertainment value. During broadcast, we would record the matches, to allow the matches to be accessed for the future. The length of the tournament allows players to play on their own schedule, this enables more matches to happen smoothly and decreases the chance of no shows. This allows tournament staff/competitors to take breaks in between matches. Doing so allows staff to catch up on matches, and allows players to strategize and prepare their teams in advance. Cons: Too confusing Too long These were the only cons I could think of. But there are arguments against the cons. Too confusing-Yes, at first glance the tournament format does look confusing, but after the first tournament, I feel that people would get a hold on the format and understand it quickly. It benefits staff and players a like. Too long-It's indeed long. Months even. But, increasing the time, also allows broadcasts to increase viewers and popularity between trainers and fans. It also allows competitive battling to be shown to the masses. Mind you, the average does NOT need to fully understand the tournament. Only the competitors and the staff running it. My thinking is this, if you have the smarts to battle competitively and successfully, you should be able to understand the tournament format and concept quickly. You can find more details here: http://www.gomtv.net...40&cid=0&kind=8 ================================================================================================================================ AIR GEAR TOURNAMENT FORMAT (ALSO INCLUDES PvP FORMAT) In the anime Air Gear, teams are divided up by classes. These range from "F Class" to "A Class". F being the lowest, A being the highest. Here is a chart of the classes: All players begin as F-Class and work their way up the rank pyramid. The higher up you are the more challenging the competition, thus the harder it becomes to win. To increase your rank, you can do the following: Win 3 consecutive battles against a player of same class Win 1 battle against a higher ranked player (No matter what their rank is, you move up to the next highest rank) To challenge a player you must post on the forums, you can do this by: Starting a topic asking for matches Call a single player out (In a non-negative fashion) Responding to either of the above mentioned topics. Players who lose 3 consecutive battles races/events will also rank down in class if they're higher than F-Class. All battles must be reported to the forums, for them to count as a victory for the Player to rank up. Due to possible cheating, pictures or video must be submitted with any win/loss reports. NOW THAT WE HAVE THE PvP FORMAT OUT OF THE WAY. HERE IS THE TOURNAMENT FORMAT THAT ACCOMPANIES IT. Using the above mentioned format for PvP, the tournament would be open to any number of players ranked "B-Class" or higher. Tournament would be single-elimination and allow as many players that sign up. Players and Pokemon must be signed up before the start of the tournament or they will not gain entry to the competition. All players would be given the option to substitute one (1) pokemon in between each match. These substitutes must also be given in the application for the tournament. Here is a sample of the bracket: ================================================================================================================================ Those are the ideas for PvP/Tournaments right now, I'll probably have more in the future. Let me know what you think.
 13. Perhaps there should be a place of recorded tournaments and within that place is a hallway displaying statues (or trophy's) of the victors. Bring a little history to land of pokemmo eh? Perhaps a breakdown of how the making of the game started and within it is the credits of the people of brought forward the game to the players.
