  1. You guys can feel free to talk about current/past members and/or staff if you'd like. But if this thread turns into a general (ex)member or (ex)staff bashing thread, then I'll have to step in. Let's just go with what Walrus said and not let this turn into what was said above me by Marley.
  2. Honestly, I really don't know why everyone thinks NY pizza is so godlike. I've had it, a few times actually. And it was pretty good, but by far not the best pizza I've eaten. And I honestly don't know what I should pick. I love burgers, but pizza is just as great.
  3. Glad you had a chance to 'introduce yourself' again, but now seems like a good time to end the meeting. Closed.

If you'd like to post a single image / video, the following thread is perfect for it in the Off Topic section: https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/19053-general-imagevideo-thread/ With that being said, I'm closing this thread.

I didn't get rid off it because you were saying the truth, I did it because it was related to other (now hidden) posts. But when I saw the commercial the first time, it seemed like it's aimed towards 10 year olds. They don't show it on German TV though. Oh and, I do play it, it was recommended to me by my girlfriend. At first I was like 'nah this isn't something I'd enjoy'. And now, almost 1 1/2 years later I'm still playing it. It's the social aspect that keeps me logging on though. Where I'm at it's just a pure grind.

Let's try this again. If you have something to contribute, then feel free to post. If not, then just move on. If someone has a problem with that, PM me instead of posting in this thread again.
  7. Nothing would stop them from doing that. But I don't want OT to have a whole lot of threads where people don't even talk about the main topic anymore (like the basketball and snowboard example). I'm sure it'd eventually get annoying to anyone because you might never know what the the current topic of discussion is (even though the thread title is basketball or something else). Like I said I don't have a problem if a few people talk about something slightly off topic in a thread. But if it goes too far and multiple pages of off topic content were posted, then I would like the users to create a new thread or to continue talking in the Laidback Zone. Sorry, but I consider this a bad idea. I understand that most regulars here are probably of age and that most could have a mature conversation about this topic, but the PokeMMO forum just isn't the right place to discuss sexuality. See my reply to Hugh. We'll work on the rules soon. And don't worry about the guessing games, they won't be banned. But we might add a limitation to them (maybe 1 post per hour or something like that). Another possibility is that posts in OT won't count towards anyone's post count. This is just an idea though and it's very possible that this will never happen. Won't happen. General rules apply everywhere, including Off Topic. We're trying to make it a more relaxed and fun environment, but allowing everyone to do whatever they want isn't a good idea nor will it ever be considered. Anyway, I'm glad that some are interested in helping out and making OT a better place (hopefully).
  8. Yep, seems like this is where we agree to disagree. It's weird to talk about it, because many of us seems to think differently about this. Just continuing a thread after no one talks about the main topic anymore seems a bit silly to me. It could also cause confusion to people who weren't a part of the conversation and don't want to read through many pages of text just to join in on the conversation. Example: Someone posts a thread about basketball. Many people in OT join the conversation and everyone's happy. Then, people start talking about snowboarding in the same thread because no one else is talking about basketball anymore. Yeah, it's fine to everyone who's been reading the thread from the beginning, but if a different person opens up the basketball thread and finds a bunch of posts about snowboarding throughout the last 2+ pages, don't you think that his person will be a bit confused at first? I see what you mean in your response about Forum Games, but this situation seems like it could happen a lot more often and could cause confusion sometimes. And besides that, it'd create just a bunch of Laidback threads which you said are unnecessary. That's why I said a little off topic is fine, but if it goes too far then either the users have to create a new thread about the new topic (if there isn't one already) or they go to the Laidback thread where they can keep on talking for as long as they want without having to worry about going off topic. Fair enough. But like I said in my first post, now I'm just trying to get the OT community to work together with the moderation team to create a more relaxed and fun environment for regulars and non-regulars here. Maybe, maybe not. All I know is that I don't want it to happen. I was saying this mostly because in OT the general rules for Ingame , forums and IRC apply too. This is the rule I want to enforce by not allowing completely silly Forum Games that simply have the purpose to boost your post count: b. You may not spam, flood, or repeatedly make duplicate posts. Messages composed of gibberish ("fjdklasjfld" "asdfsafdsa" "uiouoiuoiuoi") are considered spam. As mentioned before though, we'll loosen the rules for Forum Games soon and adjust or remove most other rules that apply just in Off Topic. Just have a look at your current forum game: https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/40566-forum-game-guess-that-video-game/ It's a nice idea, but some of the users have been double and triple posting in that thread even though it is against the general forum rules. We didn't step in even though we could have. We do try to keep OT a relaxed area without much 'overmoderation', but sometimes we just have to step in. Whether people like it or not.
  9. That's the problem sometimes. It's okay with me when some users are joking around in a thread and go a little off topic, but it often doesn't stop and sometimes even escalates into 'jokes' that end up adding a few pages of completely unrelated posts to that thread. And that's when we 'll have to step in. I understand what you're saying, but there's another problem. Let's say OT Regular A, B and C are joking around in a thread calling each other names and then non-regular X joins the conversation. Instead of joking around with X, often what happens is that Regulars A, B and C team up against X and 'friendly name calling' changes into actually trying to insult person X which is not funny anymore. I have been around for long enough to know what you're talking about here. I'm aware of that, but the difference between now and then is that the community in OT was significantly smaller than it is now and (correct me if I'm wrong) had a lot less non-regulars compared to now. And like I mentioned above, the fun and joking around often ends when a non-regular joins a conversation between friends. Because I want to prevent 25 bad forum games to be posted at once resulting in OT to be full of bad threads. And considering OT posts count towards your total post count, some people might use that opportunity to boost their post count. Some people just care about their forum stats and having a lot of posts even though it might seem silly to others. Just to give you an idea though, the Forum Game rules aren't enforced too harshly. Normally, before starting a Forum Game a user is required to either message me or XelaKebert and ask if it's okay to post. Most of the current Forum Game OP's haven't done that and we didn't step in because there was no need to. Rules aren't as strict in here as some think they are. The Rules sticky will be edited and updated in the near future though, so don't worry about other stuff in there that might be outdated or not needed anymore. This has been done in the past more or less in the form of verbal warnings. If a posts gets hidden it's often not the business of everyone who has posted in the thread. PM'ing the person that just had a post hidden is a decent idea. I'll keep it in mind and talk to XelaKebert about it.
  10. I'm open to reasonable suggestions and ideas. I understand many of you are of an older age, and might wish to post more mature material, but this forum is for everybody, and things such as that don't really belong here, off topic is for discussion, and not acting as if you're 5 years old. I also understand how some of you just come here to have fun and have a good time talking about stuff that isn't related to PokeMMO directly, but it seems like some people don't know the limits. It always has to stay PG13, so anything that is deemed too explicit will promptly be removed Harassing, name and shaming, threatening, embarassing or bringing unwanted (often negative) attention to anyone in here also isn't okay which is done a lot. So anything that's in Rule 1.a) can't be permitted. I understand that some of you are friends here and I know who most of these people are, so I usually don't do anything when Friend A calls Friend B a 'faggot'. But if it escalates and Person C gets involved (a non regular user to Off Topic), it could be considered harassment and would have to be removed. What often also causes a problem is that some aren't able to ignore posts they don't agree with. Instead of just ignoring those posts, often negative replies are being posted that cause big arguments and hate. I personally would like OT to be a more relaxed and fun area, but some users don't always make it easy. The best example was the Picture of Yourself Thread. Many said it was a bad idea, but I decided to give it a last chance to see how people would react and I was hoping that it wouldn't go downhill. At first it was working okay, but I'm sure most of the regulars here know what happened soon after. Complete nonsense and spamposts will most likely always be removed (ex: Quotes of a person with no extra text, OP is a *insert insult here*, Spiderman threads etc.). About always staying on topic: Let's use this thread as an example, What Brightens Your Day 3.0. It seems like some people enjoy the thread, and I also like reading through it. And it's completely fine to talk about something / discuss something a person has posted, but if the discussion escalates into 4 people talking about something completely unrelated to the thread, then the mods would want them to continue posting in the Laidback Zone. I don't want OT to be filled with unnecessary and gratuitous posts, and this is my effort to start a discussion to see if we can make OT be a more relaxed place. Tl;dr I'd like OT to be more relaxed and fun , but it won't work without the help of the users in here.
  11. I misinterpreted that. I apologize.
  12. Enough of this, I'm starting to give out warning points to anyone who intentionally goes too far off topic / starts fight with other users and posts absolutely pointless spam. This applies to everyone, not just people involved in the recent two events.
  13. Well since it seems like you're back and this thread is 2 weeks old, I'm closing it now. Doesn't seem like anyone has something nice left to say in here anyway.
  14. I'd be interested in Bulbasaur as well. Oh and you can remove Squirtle from the list, nobody seems to have wanted it anyway.
  15. Very interested. I kind of missed out on the shiny Charmander, but at least this time there's hope.
  16. Sweet, I'll try and be on all night today and I'll probably be on tomorrow too. By the way, notice that I also have two 3DS available so I am also able to clone stuff now. So if you need a little help or if there is something you want me to clone, let me know. I just tried it with the Ditto you gave me and it worked fine.
  17. Congratulations Amanu for winning the tournament and xkuroy for coming in second! Thanks everyone who showed up today.
  18. Thanks for the DItto! Also nice Tauros.
  19. Snorlax then. Thanks a lot man, appreciate it.
  20. Don't mind clones at all, I just think it'd be nice to have my faves. Edit: Added you.
  21. Sorry, what's your FC again? Mine is 1177-8195-5622. I'm online right now. IGN is Jindu. Also if you ever happen to stumble upon a shiny Snorlax or Tauros you have no need for, I'd be more than happy to take that off your hands ;)
  22. If you're still giving them out, I'd like one too please.
  23. You know you like it, don't lie. Also do what Caracal said if you haven't already.
  24. Congrats man, I also got my first shiny in Pokémon Y today. It's a shiny modest Abra with perfect speed and 23 special attack, caught in the friend safari of controller's sister. Not bad, I'm happy with it.
