    Why wouldn't we, one or two people who made some mistakes don't represent the entire team.

    We've been around forever, gone through good and bad times, active and inactive times, lost and gained many friends due to various reasons, lost in the first round of team tournaments many times. But all these and many other things are what makes a great team. One or two "bad apples" who unfortunately went down the wrong path won't bring a team like VVVV down.

     

    I mean as you all know, VVVV MASTER RACE.

    Kizhaz post basically sums it up pretty good. 

     

    By changing the rate to 1/8192, you don't just increase the amount of rare shinies thus making them affordable. You also increase the amount of uncommon and common shinies to such an extend that they'd basically become worthless. With so many people playing at the same time, a lot more shinies would be found resulting in the complete collapse of the shiny economy with very few exceptions. 

    Sure there are upsides to it too. Cheaper shinies, creatng competitive shinies (though they wouldn't be unique because everyone would have access to them), having more rare shinies around (which can also be a bad thing as the rares would eventually become semi-rare or even uncommon [ex: Snorlax]), and of course, finding more shinies in the wild. But then again the excitement also would shrink quite a bit each time as they'd pop up even more than they do in some cases today (looking at you, jajas). 

     

    Having cheaper shinies isn't always a good thing either. Look at Lucky Eggs for example. They were rare and desired, until there was much more supply than demand and their value plummeted. Sure they're still useful, but nowhere near as desired as they once were. The same thing would happen to shinies. 

    Want to sell your brand new shiny Vuplix because you need Yen for comps? Too bad, there are already 25 other Vulpix' on the market. Now what happens is you'll all undercut each other, making the value decrease more and more until the point where good comps could be worth more than the brand new shiny you just caught. Tl;dr basic economy. 

     

    Everything would evolve around rare shinies, and those with rare shinies wouldn't even think about accepting the commons everyone and their nans have 8 of now. So now what do you do? Go hunt rare shinies yourself. And 200 other people do the same. And now that rare shiny is becoming semi-rare. It's already happening to a certain extend with the Charmander line. Of course it doesn't affect the value too much because of how desired it is, but if you seriously have a look at the pure number of shiny Charmander and evolutions that are around, it makes you wonder what would happen to all the other good shinies out there.

     

    Doesn't sound that good anymore, does it?

    Trading Shiny Blastoise, Shiny Tauros and (maybe) Shiny Lapras

    Hi, I'm looking to trade ONE of the 3 following Shiny Pokémon. Lapras is currently with Caracal and it will take one hell of an offer to get it off her hands. So you guys will be better off making offers for Blastoise or Tauros.

     

    Please follow these rules if you want to offer on one of the 3 shinies. 

    • 1. Please make it clear which Shiny you're making an offer for.
    • 2. All offers will be considered, however offers with the most PokéYen will be given priority!
    • 3.Competitive Pokémon are accepted too. The max value I give a competitive Pokémon (no matter how good / rare / hard to breed it is), is 1 million PokéYen. This is not negotiable. If you include competitive Pokémon in your offer, please also post all the information about it. If you don't agree with this, please don't include competitive Pokémon in your offer.
    • 4. No untrained Pokémon. 
    • 5. I want to break one of my shinies down, so please don't offer 2 or 3 shinies of high value in hopes to upgrade your stuff.
    • 6. This is not an auction. If I want to trade one of my shinies I will. If I don't, then I won't.
    • 7. Don't get your pants wet if I decline your offer of accept an offer that you consider worse than your own. Like I said, offers with the most PokéYen will be given priority.
    • 8. PM's or forum posts are fine, offers given in game will not be taken very serious. Either way, if you decide to PM me please know that your offer may be made public to give others a realistic ideas of what's being offered.

    Small shinies I'd like to see in offers (that's totally not necessary though and won't prioritize your offer above others):

    Shiny MALE Jolly Pidgey or evo that with IV's that don't suck

    2 Shiny Swellow (preferably one male)

    Shiny Chinchou

     

    I also have some smaller stuff like Mawile, Cacturne, like 4 Koffings and Weezings, Lickitung, Pikachu, Stantler, Hoothoot (if that one is even still worth something) and about a box of things like that. If you're interested in any of those for cash let me know directly in game.

    Shinies should not have baseline prices. We cannot change the past, but imagine if PokeMMO would have had the GTL right away from the start and yen was used as a primary currency (instead of lucky eggs). I can give an educated guess that things would be much different and that certain shinies would not have such astronomical prices compared to others. Of course, shinies would still have variant prices, but they would be more sensible. The Set Values/Value Discussion mindset is unhealthy for the economy. It's unfortunate that players have baseline prices in their head in my opinion.

     

    Values are subjective. To say the prices are "wrong" or that players "don't know values" is saying that they are required to value a Pokemon at a certain price or range.

     

    Your educated guess is far from right. The top tier shinies would still be worth the same as they are now, and if not that then very close to it. The amount of shinies / total IG wealth some players have is crazy. They would still have all the stuff they do now, and the top tier shinies would still be just as rare as they are now. Nobody who knows even a little bit about shiny values and rarity would never sell their top shiny for a cheap price, no matter what kind of system PokeMMO uses.

     

    It's all about supply and demand. The demand of good shinies would still be high, and the supply still be low. That would apply to every shiny worth more than a few million Yen. That will never change, no matter what kind of system is in this game.

     

    I agree that shiny prices are subjective and that lists based on personal opinions should not exist. But that's not going to change unless you force it onto the players. Just gives you a whole more stuff to argue about.

    I have a ton of Feebas to sell. Minimum price on each is 130,000$. They're sorted by gender and then nature. I didn't sort them by IV's because that would just take too much time. If you're interested in one and we're about to trade, please double check the IV's. It's possible that I made mistakes somewhere because there are really a lot of Feebas.

     

    I'm mostly interested in PokéYen. Other offers might be considered too, but pure Yen offers will always be better.

    Jindu, why not become staff again? I remember the trio GM combo when I came back to PokeMMO. The combo of GMs are PATRICK, Tranzmaster, and you. It would be nice to see one of the trio come back to the staff lounge.

    Those old days are long gone. Looks like the girls are trying to rule the GM land now. And it seems like they're doing a pretty good job.
