Edited the metagross calcs because it had a shuca berry and I didn't noticed it, so earthquake can also do tons of damage on him.

Well, gonna talk about Camerupt on OU again since it fits the theme so well (I should have talked about something else on the last topic). But this time, let's do it right. The first thing you will notice is the shitty speed high offensive stats, so it's probably going to be an offensive build, right? No Sherlock! We gonna do it as an special defensive mon. Nature: Sassy Moves: Yawn, Protect, Earthquake and Flamethrower / Fireblast EV spread: 252 hp / 252 spdef Ability: Magma Armor (the only one available) But now you ask me, why I would do such build on a pokemon with such low defensive stats? It's because of his unique typing and resistences. It can counter Jolteon due to it being inmune to electric attacks, while shadow ball, hypervoice and hp ice/grass won't do much against him and being able to OHKO it back with earthquake. Calcs: It is pretty strong against Venusaur due to it having resist against sludge bomb and hp fire while neutral giga drain won't do much against a spdef builded pokemon, with you being able to 2HKO it with fireblast or flamethrower if it is not full spdef venu. Calcs: It also beats Magneton pretty easy. Calcs: It can beat eruption scarf Typhlosion, altough specs eruption still gonna hurt a lot. Be careful with hp water typhlos. Calcs: Also, Metagross won't have a safe switch on you with the risk of taking either a fire stab, earthquake or an yawn on the face. Calcs: The same goes for Forretress, Skarmory and Heracross, except that they can still come in a predicted earthquake. And gg izi against Weezing. Calcs: With yawn, you have a 100% accuracy sleep that has 1 turn delay to take effect while you have protect to gain you the time for it. It will make harder for things to switch on you, since if they switch on yawn, they are either forced to switch again or just take the sleep. Protect is also very useful for scouting and can also give you some turns of free leftovers recovery. The main cons about this guy is the x4 weakness to water and the lack of a recovery move, also some of the listed mons may run earthquake or hp water, although it is not common enough.

Gonna talk a bit about something I started to use recently on OU and really liked it: spdef Camerupt. Build: Nature - sassy EVs - 252 hp / 252 spdef Moves - yawn, protect, earthquake and flamethrower / fireblast But why? 1- It's ground type and electric inmumity makes it strong against jolteon. It is also good against venusaur if it doesn't carry earthquake due to it being able to take giga drains pretty well, having poison resist and strong fire stab to hit back. It's also strong against fire special attacker mons who don't have hp water and most minor special attackers. 2- It has nice atk and spatk even for a defensive mon while having strong stabs on both physical and special side. 3- Yawn + Protect is gay af. Cons: Venusaur can run earthquake and fire mons with hp water will one shot you. Also, no recover. Well, it lacks formatation, calcs and whatever because I am posting from my mobile phone, so that's all.

I don't use much standard pokes, especially my walls and most of the time I have at least 3 fire types on my team or stuff like gardevoir. I guess that explains a lot. btw, Tentacruel giving me trouble since pokemon stadium 1

I just do the 31s on the important stats and everything else goes 20+ (not even 25), like: 2x31 / 3x20 / 1x useless stat I just go for more than this when trying to get some specific hp. Anyway, I like how shitty the market is since it allow me to do things at cheap price.
