  1. I think I was getting lucky before. I've lost a few today with the ai doing some weird stuff. The mienshao with a fighting gym on sidney1 phoebe has a focus sash and knows acrobatics, the zoroark on phoebe 6 has hp rock, not hp ice, and I got hazed by as dusknoir which was annoying. There was even a gyarados that used dragon dance and now there's a bunch of foul play spam. I don't think either of our teams work as efficiently as preupdate anymore. I tried your team too since I have all the pokes and got swept by a nidoqueen. since it turned into a 50/50 changing from ice beam to thunderbolt and i guessed wrong on the switch to marrowak. What I'm thinking is dual screens might be neccesary to get a setup going with gorebyss. Might switch swampert for bronzong or something.
  2. I'd give burnt zebras ego an 11/10. Anyway, replace snorlax with scarf magnezone. Replace hydreigon with life orb mienshao. Replace metagross with defog mantine. Stick stealth rock on ttar over ddance. Ttar Dragonite/Reuniculus Mantine Magnezone Volcarona Mienshao Still has some holes but its playable. If you replace dragonite with calm mind reuniculus its more playable. Also, lead with mienshao so lead mamoswine doesn't kill you.
  3. If you found the swampert then I'll just paste it. I thought people would use sturdy stealth rockers for a while or something. I think mine is slightly faster gold per minute. I was getitng patterns down so I think 120-130k per run should be easy then just the 9000 for 3 white herbs since 2 out of 5 times volcarona is the sweeper. https://pokepast.es/f638e5ccea62516b I only run on hoenn right now. If I could I would rebreed swampert and probably give counter and mirror coat over 2 of the attacks.
  4. That poliwrath ninjask baton pass team was always a really slow method, but after the update adding focus sashes it might not work at all. In general, leftovers are bad because the elite 4 is at least 3500 gold per minute (more like 5000 at max efficiency, but only 3500 with this team), and it takes 8 leftovers turns to recover half of a pokemon's hp. 2 super potions are worth 1200 so unless you are getting 8 leftovers animations in 20 seconds, its a bad strategy. Anyway, my team still clears ~20 minutes and with some price changes it gets ~110k of the ~140k possible including bp. I'll give people a few days to have fun building before I share it, just know that the current team in the guide is completely broken and will not work anymore after the update.

    Battle Speed

https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/forum/48-client-translations/ Every mod here will change text speed therefore speeding up or slowing down the game. I'm allowed to change my game to Japanese to speed up all the text, but not log in and out. I don't see too many current mods that change battle animations. A lot of ones a couple of years ago that are advertised to make the game look like later gens will though. The modding community might just be kind of dead.

Go look in client customization. Battle animations are graphical and client side. Anything that changes graphics in battle has the potential to reduce or prolong battle animations. I'm not going to go download and test every mod individually especially when I'm already under fire for logging in and out being called bug abuse.

    Battle Speed

Anything that changes battles to look like previous or later generations will change battle speed since the animations take different times in different gens. I know there used to be a lot of mods like that.

Just anything that changes the battle animations will change the speed of the battle since it is entirely dependent on that. I haven't looked into client customization since pre-gen5. Right now, even the android client has slightly faster battle animations than the pc client.

I learned about it because a moderator suggested it in global to someone complaining about ev training a gyarados. "I have to sit through 5 intimidate animations" "Put and exp share on something." "Less experience" "Just log out and in then and it skips it." Why is it okay for me to download mods that change the battle animation to be faster or slower but not log in or out? There's no consistency and no way to police this on anyone except me. I just shouldn't have reported the Zoroark bug basically because now I have to play the game slower than everyone else. What percentage of the community do you think is really willing to sit through intimidate 5 times on a horde after learning about this? I was just reporting the weird Zoroark glitch. If you guys really didn't know animation skipping is commonplace before this post, then the disconnect between the people who coded the game and the community is worrying. Something that has existed for years and that a large portion of community routinely uses suddenly being considered bug abuse is going to have to be dealt with sooner or later.

Many players do this all the time, even seen staff do it. No one I've met considers it a bug. Basically, you are putting a handicap on me and telling me to waste my time or get in trouble and its just discouraging. If you really care that much about people logging in and out to save a couple of seconds, why not put a 10 second cooldown on logging in after logging out? That would be an easier fix than accusing me of bug abusing when all I'm doing is toggling an intended mechanic.

Is there? I've been trying to speedrun parts of the game and have been having to rely on logging in and out to skip animations. If they can be sped up that would be great. I know there's one for text but it would be cool if the battle animations could happen as quickly as the messages show up in the battle chat.
  12. Got record at 16:29.35. I'm sure if other people use this strategy they will beat it quickly. Its only good for speedrunning, ninjask is better for money.
  13. Do I have to finish the sevii islands? I never did anything past unlocking the seven islands. That's all I can think of that I haven't done. EDIT: Okay, it went up to 95 after I got he sapphire gem. Strange that mattered. Will post speedrun soon.
  14. Yeah, you can. At least all the teams I saw in the video. If there's one team specifically with 6 sturdy pokes then I agree it would take 16 turns. That's the only example I can think of that would increase the time. I' m not going to give up the strategy just yet because I'm hoping my elite four goes to lvl 100 soon and I can break the record.
  15. Sorry if I ignored things. Wasn't trying to. These games can actually be beaten really quickly and just because some people find it difficult doesn't mean that's the reality. As far as the speedrunning, it was actually shorter than I stated: https://www.speedrun.com/pkmnemerald https://www.speedrun.com/pkmnfrlg https://www.speedrun.com/pkmnbw1 If you mean specifically speedrunning in the mmo, I doubt more than an hour or two would be added. Time might actually be taken off because of the animation canceling mechanic here. The thread was about someone who had all of their pokemon turned useless by the levelcap retroactively and had to resort to buying stuff on the gtl. That doesn't seem fun and breaks the flow of the game. I don't think it makes it more difficult either, just annoying. That is my opinion on it. Lastly, the thread isn't about the game being difficult, its about the ingame experience being ruined. Those are two different things. Anyway, sorry if you think I'm off topic, but to me all of this is related to the level cap. I'm sure its here to stay anyway and I already beat all the regions so I'll quit talking about it. I get the OP's frustration. I guess one more question. If someone played the game before the level cap only up to the 3rd gym and leveled all of their pokemon higher than the levelcap, then spent all of their money, would they be softlocked if they rejoined today?
  16. You can easily earn enough money to buy pokes to steamroll the rest of the game by the fourth gym of the first region. It was much more monotonous and unnatural not caring about my pokes and sticking them in a box every time they got obsolete than taking on the challenge of beating the game with one poke. People speedrun emerald and firered in 3~4 hours with one poke. They obviously have fun doing it. Even if they didn't its objectively less time being bored than having to mess around on the gtl and waste time switching to type effective pokes in battle. Policing people's monotonous play is probably a worse reason for the level cap than trying to prevent people from cheesing the game. People will play the game in as boring or as fun of a way as they choose to and a level cap doesn't really do much about it.
  17. Hm, I know its been more than five. I think mine might be glitched. Anyway, if anyone wants to beat the elite 4 in faster than 18 minutes they should look into animation canceling and into a strategy that takes 6-9 turns per battle instead of wasting 6-9 turns just setting up baton pass chains. One other thing to note is that the fastest strategy might end up costing more money than the elite 4 is worth.
  18. That's fair, I got off topic a lot. The one thing you didn't address is the purpose of the level cap being to increase difficulty. If that is true, why is buying a full team just under the level cap on the gtl possible? Isn't that a bigger abuse of cheesing the game than leveling your own pokemon up too high? The way I beat unova was just to abandon my starter and buy a couple of starmies every time the level cap changed for very cheap. Took about 20k overall to beat the game and it was faster and easier than if I had just leveled up one poke. I don't get the logic behind training your pokemon too much being cheesing but just using other peoples pokes and not training at all being fine.
  19. The thing is lvl 100's actually cost a bit of money on the gtl. Lvl 50's do not. And my point with the ai is the baton pass thing would be foiled if the ai was allowed to use whirlwind, taunt, or any of the other answers to it.
  20. I've rematched at least 10 times but the e4 doesn't increase in level for me when I beat it. I've seen videos of it at lvl 100 and the strategy is just brainless ninjask baton passing. Takes people 20 minutes. The ai doesn't ever use priority moves, stat boosting moves, phazing moves, and will get stuck in loops where it switches for no reason only hurting itself. Could be a lot better. I would argue the original game ai is better as it at least will use those types of moves even if they are randomly used. The correct way to play the games that everyone did as a kid was to level one or two pokemon up exclusively and smash their way through the game. If the gyms and e4 were higher levels this would still be possible but would pose more of a challenge without breaking game flow. Right now, the fastest way to beat the game is to buy pokemon from the gtl and that's just not a fun way to play. I'm not saying the leveling mechanic makes the game hard, if anything it forces the game to be easier. I'm saying it makes the early game bad.
  21. The level cap is bad because it doesn't make the game harder. You can't level just your starter now to beat the game but you can purchase a full 6 poke team of lvl 60's for under 10k and stomp the elite four. People talk about it not being brainless button smashing, but even the lvl 100 elite four endgame is still brainless button smashing where the only competiton left is someone beating it in 15 minutes instead of 20 minutes or 25 minutes. What the level cap does do is break the flow of the game. And this really messes with people that just want to have fun and don't care about difficulty. Its just a halfassed solution. The game is easy because the ai is bad. Covering that fact up with an obvious flow breaking mechanic that makes people angry isn't a good fix. My solution would be to increase all trainer levels along a gradient where it starts normal but by the time you get to the elite four it is naturally level 85-90 then look into matching the experience to that. That way people aren't salty over being locked out of their pokes.
  22. I want to do this because I get consistently under twenty when pausing to watch stuff in the background. I think sub 15 might be possible. Unfortunately, I don't know how to make the elite four level 100. I've rematched it at least 10 times and it doesn't gain levels past 85- 90. I'm on at least my tenth one. Is it just a matter of rematching it more times? 10 more levels wouldn't change my clear speed but I just don't know how to get there. Last time I battled I got $59400 and 1600 battles points. Gyms are faster money so if I do this depends on how many times I have to battle the elite four to get lvl 100's. Anyone know how many times it will take?
  23. Scizor will if stealth rock is where scizor wants it or if gengar whiffs focus blast. Those together are well over half and still there's an opportunity for a 50/50 at that point if at least scizors rocks are up.
  24. 252+ SpA Chandelure Shadow Ball vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Scizor: 48-57 (27.2 - 32.3%) -- guaranteed 4HKO I guess if scizor goes and gets drunk for 2 turns and ends up in jail where he can't get out for a week then there might be enough shadow balls to kill. Otherwise Scizor wins easily. 252+ SpA Chandelure Shadow Ball vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Scizor: 48-57 (27.2 - 32.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock 252+ Atk Choice Band Technician Scizor Pursuit vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Chandelure: 124-148 (91.8 - 109.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock Even if you start from the position that chandy has rocks up and scizor doesn't, Scizor still wins. So yeah, idk, maybe you had the math on stealth rock wrong and were too lazy to hit the sr button to check.
  25. That's not an assumption. The job of scizor is to come in every time something dies. It gets 5 opportunities. On 3 mons it can pick a move thats a 100% win for that turn and on the other 3 its a 50/50 shot.
