  1. What is it you would like see customized/made? Weather turn counter. Also counts turns for moves like trick room and screens. How would you like to see it customized/made? I would like to see it made quickly because having to pause battling to go count turns in the battle chat kind of sucks. Reference examples (optional):
  2. That's because the global elites sell this idea that charmander is a good starter to the masses. Don't fall for it, they want to keep you down!
  3. You can easily just power through the 1st 4 gyms in any region with just the starter. GTL is mainly for E4 since that's when two pokes might be needed.
  4. The best way to beat pokemon is to only train your starter and not worry about ever leveling other mons. Its a little tricky here with level caps, but there's plenty of resources on the gtl like ninjask, stealth rock, memento, and shedinja cheese to nullify the effect it has. The game is still just as easy but just a little more annoying. All three regions should be doable pretty easily in 24 hours of gametime. If you're really having trouble at any point just buy a starmie of similar level.
  5. Even noobs know all you have to do to stay logged in overnight is to go afk while spectating a tournament stall match. Come on now.
  6. I don't run at all anymore because the money got much worse after ai/item changes in the last update. It is absolutely not worth the time. I don't have the team anymore and forgot the ivs. Hopefully the prize is increased so it becomes worth running agian or maybe someone comes up with a better strat.
  7. excadrill, pelliper, kingdra, magnezone, conkeldurr, swampert Ok, that's my team.
  8. Ok, I'll need a couple of days to build a doubles team since I don't know much about it. Anyway, for everyone besides ghost I'll only be using those 6. Just to be sure, ghost is the only doubles gym, right?
  9. I thought he bought it since vanity costs money in this game.
  10. Oops, forgot about this, my bad. Let me think of something. tynamo, weavile, excadrill, pelliper, kingdra, magnezone, conkeldurr, swampert, quagsire, krookodile, ludicolo, unown Ok, that's 10 right? Edit: Forgot ghost was doubles so I'll be needing to swap out my quagsire for krookodile and tynamo for weavile. Will only be bringing those 2 pokes to the ghost gym since I would rather get doubles over with in 3-5 turns than have to make a bunch of switches. Edit 2: Did some calcs wrong on dusclops. I'll think about the ghost gym later. Can I enter with these 6 for the first 16 gyms then when I get to the ghost gym come up with the other 4?
  11. Wait, I thought mayor was a joke instead of a real position. Is it just some guy with a youtube channel or is it more official? 1. My job performance I didn't know your job was real and not a joke and I still don't know. Besides that you did okay. 2. Can I advertise my Roy Rogers News channel on the Mayor Bestfriends YouTube channel listing? You just advertised it anyway in this thread (which has more views than your channel) so you didn't care what we thought. 3. Should I change my studio location for the Mayor Bestfriends YouTube channel? It looks like you film at home with some sort of 15 fps screen recorder. By change location does that mean you got evicted and are asking to crash on someone's couch? 4. Any goal suggestions for 2019? Goal suggestion is redundant. Just say suggestion. 5. What topics I can cover next on the Mayor Bestfriends YouTube channel? What mayor does and when they are elected. 6. (If I made an impact on you in game) How I helped in your in game endeavours. If you think you're so great just say it. It is a strategy that wins presidential elections so it will work for pokemmo mayor. Don't ask other people to stroke your ego because it comes off as weak.
  12. Pokes are comp at lvl 50. I'm not leveling chansey 50 extra times and dropping an extra 101k just to avoid evolving it. I'll probably just make 6 or 7 comp blisseys and sell them until I get lucky enough to get a chansey to lvl 50 without evolving it. Your strategy is only reasonable with farming pokes which can just be bought at lvl 100 with bad ivs pretty cheap anyway. Overall, its just kind of weird there's this time sensitive extreme threat in what is otherwise a leisurely farming game.
  13. Yeah, should've done that with meowth, but ev training is still near impossible.
  14. I haven't ever once been able to get something that I want as a prevolution to the correct level without missing the evolution cancel somewhere down the line. As hard as a try, if I get the cancel right 14 times in a row, I'll inevitably get distracted since pokemmo is a multitasking game and miss it the 15th time. Closest I got was I had a meowth at lvl 98 that I forgot to cancel. The only solution for me right now is to pay someone else to not mess it up which they still have a high chance of messing it up. Then its awkward because you have to specify beforehand you aren't paying them if they mess it up and then there's tension when the inevitable happens. This has to be why blissey has higher usage than chansey in ou despite being objectively worse. Its because no one can actually train a chansey to lvl 50 without it evolving on them. Anyway, the amnesia brace is the precedent for an item like this. The item would simply be identical to an exp. share but also prevent pokemon from evolving like an everstone. Call it an evershare.
  15. I think some people would quit if it was a battle with millions of pokeyen on the line and they had spent months trying to improve only to get defeated because of that. Its a very obscure mechanic contrary to how everything else works that you might not ever encounter until hundreds of battles in. Its just such an unnecessary thing. Their pokes are fainted, let me out of the battle. Baffled you're defending this feature. What about it is there possibly to like? Battles should be over when all the pokemon faint. Every 12 year old receiving their first charmander is told that yet in this mmo under these specific conditions its not true. The only place its not true, and now I'm going to have to do more testing to see if the self-ko clause is working because after this u-turn bs I really have no faith in battles ending at the correct time with the correct result. I'll post something else if I find out other end-game situations are handled wrong. Honestly, what's so bad about it too is that I'm pretty sure my opponent tried to bait me today. They took 2 minutes to make their last move with 5% health left on their last mon. Being timestalled after I have the winning move locked in and then almost losing after all their pokemon fainted, I've just never seen something that absurd. Edit: After thinking about this more it seems like a bug instead of an intended feature since its so bad. Move it to bug reports if you like.
  16. Almost lost a battle over this because I thought I had already won and was off doing other stuff. Caught it with 3 seconds left. Bad mechanic. Sounds small, but that's the type of thing people permanently ragequit over if it happens at the wrong time. If all 6 of their mons are fainted the battle should end. Imagine 6-0 sweeping an opponent in a tournament finals only to come back from your celebration and find that you lost on time after all the enemy's pokes were fainted. It would be terrible. No one should have to sit there picking what mon to switch in if all of the enemy's stuff is dead. Its not intuitive and I wouldn't be surprised if important battles have been lost because of it. Probably happens with volt switch too.
  17. Nice job man. Knew it was possible.
  18. I thought it ended at the end of jan 1st. Do we have ~24 more hours or is it over?
  19. Yeah, the time investment ends up being the problem. I've heard some people got 77. Let me know if you break 100. Also, try out fighting ghost sometimes and see how it compared to that.
  20. Its due to how many robots you fight and kill compared to the other people in the group. Both teams trying to mess each other up is a good way of playing for best tiny part to regular part ratio for the winning team. Make sure both teams want to do this. Basically, each player has something like an amulet coin that gives out some rewards when a battle would usually give experience. Battling more gets you more tiny parts since half of your big parts come from presents and half come from waves you optimize to get 4 to 1 ratio but the ratio of 4 is always higher because its steeper than the big robot part ratio as rounds get higher. Basically these people saying they got 3 parts actively avoided battles and made other team members do all the work. Something closer to my team was everyone trying but one team getting more robots. We were cooperative, but something more competitive would work too.
  21. In my run to 57, one team got twice as many Santa presents as the other. Why is this? Type combos that get walled in by ground types are going to have a worse time collecting presents than type combos that beat everything under the right conditions and have good recovery mechanisms. Robot parts are based on how many robots you kill, so kill more than the other team. A fun way to play this game is to have 2 teams of 2 in a double battle where AI decisions eventually influences who gets more Santa Presents. I didn't really know at the time I just wanted to test something against the psychic/electric standard. I'm considering giving some presents behind because I just didn't know what this game was until now. What they should've done was rush to kill poison and grass types to prevent guts for fighting. Then we would've died but sometimes we wouldn't and we would keep fighting. Then sometimes we would've boxed you into ground and youd die and it would be a battle. A doubles VGC type battle with a weird elf battle select. That's why 5. When split evenly between each team its almost 2 lives to 3. I wonder if people can list their type and be battled an AI in one of those castle raid type games. It would be nice to see if anyone is interested in organizing a tournament on this course next 3-4 days before this is over. As a hint: Stall would be the way to play this if the objective is to kill the other team of 2 that did teams like my offensive team. Also, importantly, 57 is not a healthy score. Don't play this for 7 hours straight hours. Team games where you mess with the other team instead of trying to help them are likely to go two hours max. The team that killed more robots will get more money. You will be happy. The goal is to kill weak robots and leave strong ones for your opponent. Its like 2v2 capture the flag with the big parts being flags. Anyway, I'm considering rewarding the equal amount of presents to everyone TohnR and Suigin, Sinz can keep his since he didn't know the split score was possible. We both tried to help each other too, this was just from me not getting to ground types as fast because of wave size among just having better matchups against more things. Its more fair and enjoyable when both sides try to kill the enemy team before they get your flag and score. We both tried to help each other too, this was just from me not getting to ground types as fast because of wave size. There are objectives sometimes like grass and poison and ground. Grass is what fighting needs to get guts, electric and psy better go kill all the poison bots before fighting finds one. Same with grass. Ground is the opposite. Electric psy is walled by ground. So if the wave is reset when fighting ghost are in the puzzle trying to get presents then electric/psy rushes over to a heal, they can take status away from fighting and get it killed in the tunnel lowering lives. Also, there's stuff like ghost/fighting being able to ko non-priority types with selfdestruct without using any pp. There are definitely interesting tactics. This event was really cool and and really the devs did something special on this one. If implemented to more stuff this would save grinding the game from being boring. It would make the game completely competitive. That if everyone is okay with playing the game this way. I don't see anything wrong with it. Shorter games, new objective, more fun. Also let people know if you want to faint each other in the game. Co-op will still be a favored strategy by a lot of people but this will be fun for a few.
  22. Yeah, I'm happy we know what the scores look like this high up. Not everything is linear and I think I know why they are different. The big parts to small parts ratio is a measure of efficiency. There is a right type of class to choose in this game. I got 20 santa presents to your guys 11. Sin tied my score minus one bot which i chose to kill on my own near the end so he 26/73. I kind of zoned out for an hour but I guess our combo is just a lot better than the standard psychic/electric. Might even work better in 2 player runs. I guess we get paid per robot we kill, not entirely by round or present since those at least add up to that rate x4.
  23. If anyone is on now we need one more. Looked up everyone who posted and all are busy. Will try to get runs in with everyone before event goes down.
  24. Hey guys. Preliminary results are in. Unfortunately, we had some complications because one party member died 2 times on wave one and used 3 of our overall lives. Then after a few hours, people had to go to bed so we just quit after collecting robot parts in some high number wave. Everyone played really well overall and it was fun but there is definitely more potential. Anyway, I'm confident 100 is possible though 5 hours would be really fast. Looking to do more runs tomorrow.
