still don't think RAM is my problem, when I open PS and watch RAM usage, it never gets to the point where my computer is going "OH FUCK WAT R U DOIN" [spoiler]i do want more RAM eventually, but that's for video gamesssss[/spoiler] ^ pretty much this, photoshop is memory hungry but as long as you're not running a game, google chrome, and doing like a fucking video chat in skype or some shit, should be fine lolno, sigs stay 500x200 :^) only my art, which i do in SAI, reaches stupid resolutions. not so much layer amounts because i've learned to appreciate minimal layers why would i use some pleb art program that comes with my windows? so boring

i have a 980, which has 4GB VRAM iirc, so i don't think that's the problem either

i don't think it was a problem with my RAM though, because I allocated more RAM to it, tried all the "solutions" on google, and none of it worked besides, ps has worked for me forever, it was an issue that started to occur out of nowhere. I have 8 GB RAM (which was an upgrade from my previous RAM, which was utter dogshit. but PS worked back then, go fucking figure) and I even tried closing every fucking program/pointless process and running only photoshop and it still crashed so i'm convinced it isn't my hardware that was the issue zzz i get really salty about this because it reminds me how i spent several weeks of uguuing and trying to fix this etc before giving up http://niceme.me/
