This is not even close to the truth at all. I have had over 100000 encounters spread out on four different accounts. Not a single shiny on any of the accounts. Shiny hunting community is dead and they won't even bother to fix it.

I tried to start my game 6 days ago and I had a constant 30 FPS which usually runs with 120+ constantly. I decided to close the game immediately and wait for an unknown time. Yesterday I noticed that there was an update so I downloaded the update and ran the game. 20 seconds later my game crashes while opening the bag. Never experienced a crash or low framerate before in PokeMMO and this is not really giving me any additional motivation to play again.

I haven't been online for almost 10 months.. I guess I agree with OP in some way. They started "ruining" the game when they tweaked the shiny mechanic in my opinion. Their way of handling grinding and farming is absence. It is monotonous as fk. The game is build around paydaying which the devs can barely handle. And there are no shinies because the system thinks you are botting so completely no excitement while grinding. I have made 20.000+ encounters multiple times with and without donator status on different accounts aswell which got me encounter 1 shiny pokemon (NOTE: before 2013 mid). This is the main reason why me and my friends switched to another pokemon game.

They should also consider fixing the shiny rate while they are at it and giving out these ridiculous shiny prizes at tournaments is just annoying. There is nothing to do in this game once you finished the storyline. I bought donator status for 1 week AGAIN and deleted the game again into two hours of realizing that the game has become the opposite of fun. I see that the competitive scene is getting destroyed aswell but it does not really concern me since I am a shiny hunter. Please tell me in which direction this game is going?
