You might want to look up the term "statistics". I am pretty sure it is possible to find a pattern, you'll need a lot of time, though.

This is not even close to the truth at all. I have had over 100000 encounters spread out on four different accounts. Not a single shiny on any of the accounts. Shiny hunting community is dead and they won't even bother to fix it.
