I finished everything in Kanto, so now I'm doing a starter run (one pokemon) for Hoenn. I'm choosing Mudkip and can't think of a name so here you go. (I'll use the same HM Slaves from before as unless there's a double battle they don't really fight) First picture (First gotten): Of course with my luck I have two perfect IVs on my starter that can't be passed down, and besides the 25 IV everything else is bad. Why should that matter to you? Godly Mewtwo is just as good as a Shitty Mewtwo because we've already established that these would be banned from competitive play anyway (Plus the Battle Frontier/Trainer Tower/etc.). Is the VS Seeker really that important? Because seeing as how you can't even enter Cerulean Cave until you beat all of Kanto PLUS almost all of the Sevii Islands, there's not much more to do than a few more trainers and the VS Seeker. So yeah, 6x31 Mewtwo would be super broken, but there's nobody to feel the pain of it except the idiot who cleared the storyline enough times to get it because s/he just realized that they wasted their time utterly and completely. I actually agree with this statement, but I'm pretty sure you're overlooking the simple fact of who the hell said you had to get it through the canonical storyline in the first place? You've already removed the storyline versions of the legendaries. It wouldn't even be given to us anyway seeing as how (correct me if I'm wrong) you just said a few posts ago that you couldn't use the Masterball on a legendary anyway. Sure, people have caught Mewtwo and Rayquaza pretty easily here without it, but seeing as how all of the RNG stuff on here has been tampered with to the point where there's almost nothing with the same chances as the real games, I wouldn't put it past you guys to make it easier to catch them because they're so hard to find in the first place and you can't keep them for more than 10 minutes at a time. My point is, if you make them hard enough to get, then you wouldn't be running into half the problems you're bringing up. The more the challenge, the more diversity you have with people. There's the people who are so into the competitive they won't care about legendaries as they'd be impossible to use, and won't go up to the effort of getting one. There's the people who will do it for the challenge. There's the people who will do it because they want the legendary besides its near uselessness. Sorry, but once again, why the hell does that matter? If the majority of your players want the ability to keep legendaries, even with the consequences of not being able to use them in PvP, E4, Battle Frontier, Trainer Tower, etc. We have already showed you time and time again that there's no reason that this would broken. They would be unable to battle anything but wild pokemon and standard NPCs. They would be unable to be bred. Unable to be traded. They would basically be Gift pokemon that can't be used against other players or major battle facilities, yet you don't mind us receiving Charmanders out the ass. Just because you, Xela, can't find a purpose for that, doesn't mean there isn't one. Many people want to have them as trophies for whatever reason. As a way to show it off to their friends. Maybe they're doing a living pokedex. Maybe they want their Mewtwo/Rayquaza to follow them as their partner. The demand is large, the ability is there, few to no consequences that haven't been countered already, but it will never happen because you don't think there's a purpose?

Now, who should I choose at as my starter for my Hoenn run? I'll most likely do the same thing, use my starter and nothing but HM slaves for the rest.

I haven't run into this problem personally because I'm still a storyliner and haven't really had the need for that yet, but I can see how this would be extremely frustrating. Plus, you bring up a good point in which the Pokemon/Item gets mailed to you anyway. I support this 110%

Glad to hear that! I mainly did this so I could get through the storyline simply and quickly so I could go ahead and start completing the pokedex and making some comps (not necessarily in that order), but there's always prospects of doing it for fun too. -EDIT- Here's me at Celadon. It's a big jump, but it's where the next gym was. -EDIT- Fuchsia Gym: -EDIT- Cinnabar. Is it normal for the late-game fire gym to not pose a threat at all to me when using an (overleveled, I'll admit) Venusaur and nothing else? xD -EDIT- Last gym before the E4, Viridian: Oh, and I just realized I forgot to screenshot after Saffron. Bulbaspartacus, Hassan, Squirtle, B-Rex, Jeff, Leech Steed, Vulvasaur, and Turtle Food. So many tasty options. I think I'll choose Leech Steed but I would feel obligated to make it keep Leech Seed then, which I probably am going to get rid of once I get the TM for Giga Drain or level up to learn Synthesis (whichever comes first).

lol this is just to get me through the story, I'm not planning on using this for the meta (if only because the IVs are worse than your assumptions)

I know I'll regret this, but I've decided that I want to try and take on Kanto with only my starter. So of course whenever I start I accidentally pick Bulbasaur and it has terrible IVs. I'm going to regret this but oh well. I know I'll have to get a few HM slaves, but I will only use this one to fight. If this dies and I have an HM Slave with me, then I'll just exit and get booted to the Pokemon Center. Any suggestions on names?

I'm not talking about making a team Discord. I'm saying it would be useful if there was like a forum topic where you could submit your social media program/website to the mods and they would just put it on a list, so it at least gets some publicity. I'm not interested in a team anything, I'm talking like "Here's a Discord/Disqus/Xat/Anything-Except-IRC-or-TeamSpeak for all of PokeMMO that's not staff hosted but still fun anyway"

Earlier I suggested a Discord. That wasn't really given a second look to be honest, and Discord is much more popular/useful than a second-hand [insert whatever Disqus is here]. I didn't say that as a biased advertisement, I said that as "They're not interested in anything". The only thing I think would be useful is if PokeMMO just let non-staff make groups in whatever software they like, and have them self-moderated by whoever made them.

May I ask why not? Also, if someone were determined enough, couldn't they generate one from the sprite you just posted, plus other inevitable sprites scattered around the forums? Would that be allowed? If so, would it be allowed for them to post the bases on the forums?

I have a few simple questions about the Doubles meta: There is no currently banned pokemon in the Doubles meta, which means Ubers are allowed. That being said, does this mean RU, NU, UU, etc. are fair game as well? I'm asking because there's high probability that there's Double Battle Strategies out there that may use Under-OU tiered Pokemon. (Most would be fairly gimmicky, but meh). I'm thinking about F.E.A.R. Rattata in (non-tiered) singles, and the "Don't Fuckle With Shuckle" self-named, but widely-used (I think) strategy for (non-tiered) doubles. (Don't Fuckle With Shuckle won't work in PokeMMO due to the fact that Shell Smash doesn't exist in Gen III) Are hax items still banned? Anything else particularly noteworthy that changes from singles?

If you don't know what Discord is, it's a combination of Teamspeak, Skype, and Slack. It's much more advanced than TeamSpeak, better for communities than Skype, and has the same sort of server/channel system as Slack. I'm proposing that PokeMMO get an official Discord server, or allow promotion of a community-based Discord server. It's not altogether a complicated thing to set up. I know there's an official TeamSpeak, but Discord is better (as minimal bias as possible was put into that statement, Discord is just superior in many ways). If you're worried about staffing, you could maybe make some of the people who staff the TeamSpeak either a) Do both TeamSpeak and Discord or b) Ditch the TeamSpeak. Just a thought.

I sold a Tuxedo for 1 buck while I was trying to transfer it to another character on my same account. Ended up getting swiped by someone else. Totally worth it. (Oh and I have another account now so I can just mail these things to that account and then to my other character)

I am extremely glad I read this. Me and a few friends were extremely mad about the new breeding system, but we didn't know about the parental averages with IVs. We thought that the iv inheritance was the same as the main series games, and that it was still based on luck. Following this guide, we now see that while this is much more expensive, it's also a lot less luck-based. If you have the money, and the luck to find 1x31 IV pokemon in the wild, you're pretty much set. Before it was if you have a ton of luck, you're pretty much set.

Thanks! It's based of the PSMD sprite of Pikachu. I used the PSMD Zangoose sprite for the colors, and a little bit of spriting as far as the over-eye-checkmark goes.

Thanks dude. To be honest if I had come back on my own, I would definitely re-join VALE, but our group already made a Team and as far as I know you can't have two teams at once. If my friends stop PokeMMO and I'm still going, I'll definitely join again.
