  1. "So, how is it different from a regular emulator?" That's what I asked myself when I first saw PokeMMO. The answer was obvious: the community, right? I would be playing Pokemon alongside a bunch of other people. That would be what made the experience different and worthwhile, what set it apart from normal solo play. Well, I was absolutely right. The community is what set it apart. I've got about 19 hours of gameplay, and so far, I've witnessed: - massive homophobia - widespread racism - endless spam - trade spam where it shouldn't be - lenny faces filling the screen - people harassing others - extremely lewd content not suitable for kids - so much more Sure, there have been a few bright spots, but they are horrifyingly overwhelmed by the absolutely horrendous chat. With very few exceptions, the community isn't the draw, it's the problem. Combine that with the conspicuous absence of chat moderators of any kind, and it's painfully obvious that this is not the right game for me. It's a shame. My Nuzlocke was going fairly well, too. Enjoy the game for what it is. I'm out.
  2. If an update ever includes chat moderators, let me know. I've turned off all languages to silence the chat, and I can't see ever turning them back on without a LOT more moderation.
  3. I'm ManicAscendant in game, usually go by Manic but that name was taken. On my first run through PokeMMO, I'm going to Nuzlocke it, because Nuzlocke is kinda how I do things. I'm already up to Rustboro, and somehow I wound up with a wild Eevee showing up on Route 104. Surprise! It's Timid, so I'm going to see about making it happy enough to go Espeon for me; an early Espeon could wreck face in a Nuzlocke. Anyway, hope to meet you all in chat! (if I can wade through the constant stream of ads)
  4. If donator status is supposed to improve the odds (and I recall that it is), it would make no sense for them to lie about it. Just keep in mind that a 10% improvement over extremely low odds is still extremely low.
  5. You do not have to know about EVs, IVs, breeding, or things like that. That's only for high-end competitive play. It is entirely possible to play Pokemon without doing any of that. That's one of the beautiful things about the game. It's as deep or as simple as you want it to be.
  6. That is an extreme case, but within normal parameters. Remember that each incident does not modify the odds of the next incident, so it's 30% across the board.
