They introduced us to a new feature to stop botting apparently. Now the shiny rate will depend on a lot of different variables as Kyu said: 'Whether donator status is active' 'Where you got your pogeyman' 'What you've been doing' 'How new you are' 'How much we think you're cheating'. Does that mean some of the variables could overlap the donator status effect?

The fact is that we as a player do NOT have enough information about this new shiny mechanic. We do not know if Donator Status will help us at all since the current system might have put some weird spell on us that might impair our chances of encountering a shiny pokemon.

Thank you for the detailed answers. I see that you have a Kanto walkthrough too and I might want to read that to get 100% from the run. I'll stick to Kanto runs since I am more comfortable with them. :)
