5.
To make spoilers, do [.spoiler] message [./spoiler] without the periods.
Thank you, it's practically my first time on any kind of Forum.
IGN: GymLeaderKato Still trying to figure out how to do those spoiler bar things, so forgive me in advance, I don't really hope to win but I hope at least one of you will enjoy it. ( ^_^) This is basically a story about my first time playing Pokemon Red (Exaggerated a bit.... a lot) 1319 Words (my counting skills may be off) Enjoy!
The day that every boy and girl Is waiting for, the day when he or she is most excited. On this particular day the grass looks greener, the birds sing louder and the sky shimmers even in the daytime. That's right, it's the 10th birthday of Shiro Mizuochi, an enthusiastic young boy who dreams of one day becoming the Pokemon champion of the Kanto region. Getting as far as Pewter City within a few weeks, Shiro stares at the doors of a peculiar building. "The Pewter City Gym..." looking up at the sign of the Gym, Shiro starts to get nervous. "I wonder what kind of Pokemon the leader uses." Shiro sighs, then takes a deep breath to calm his nerves. Just then, the doors open to reveal a tall man with brown spiked hair. "And who might you be?" asks the man looking puzzled, "I... I'm Shiro Mizuochi,I.. I'm here to challenge the Gym leader." Shiro looks down to his feet, he can't seem to control his nerves. "Oh I see..." Looking disappointed in Shiro's resolve, the man decides to invite Shiro into the Gym. After going down a few corridors, they finally emerge to a huge indoor arena completely lit up made especially for battles with a Gym leader. Looking around in awe, Shiro's nervousness is replaced by excitement. "Oh wow! This place is huge!" It was then where Shiro noticed the man standing at the other end with a Pokeball in his hand. "Wait.. so you're the Gym Leader?" looking confused, Shiro takes a step back. "That's right, I'm Brock the Pewter City Gym leader" Shiro's nerves started up again as Brock explained about the gym. Big rocks lay around the arena almost like they were specifically placed that way to test challengers. Brock explained that he uses rock type Pokemon and that he will only be using 2 because Shiro didn't have any Gym badges. "So... Now that you understand how Gym battles work." Says Brock "I think it's time to get this show on the road." Shiro nods and his first Gym battle begins. "GO, GEODUDE!" Brock throws his Pokeball which then pops open to reveal Geodude, a rock type Pokemon that looks like a rock with arms. "So that's Geodude huh?" Shiro throws his Pokeball which revealed a small purple creature. "A Rattata?" Brock looked down. "I suppose they have to start somewhere." Rattata and Geodude stared at each other, each waiting for it's trainer's command. "Rattata! use Tackle!" Upon hearing it's trainers command, Rattata sprung into action charging for a full body tackle on Geodude. Sensing no immediate threat, Brock stands still with his arms folded, waiting for the right moment to strike. As expected, Rattata slams into Geodude with full force only to bounce off in mid-air. Sensing Rattata's vulnerability, Brock orders an attack from Geodude "Now! use tackle!" Geodude rams into Rattata sending it flying into one of the rocks laying around the arena. "oh no! Rattata!" Shiro looked at Rattata's unconscious body in shock, he could not believe it was taken down with only one hit. Looking frustrated, Shiro one of the two remaining Pokeballs attached to his belt. "What to do?" Ponders Shiro. "What are you waiting for?" asks Brock. "you have other Pokemon don't you?" Shiro smiled as if to just now realise that he could use his other Pokemon. "I do, and I will use the Pokemon I started my Journey with" Shiro throws his second Pokeball which bursts open and reveals a red lizard with a burning flame on the end of it's tail. "You ready, Charmeleon?" Charmeleon roars. "Let's win this!" Brock smiles and gives Shiro the first move. "Charmeleon! Use Ember!" Upon hearing the command, Charmeleon Jumps into the air towards Geodude and then releases a dozen embers from it's mouth directed at Geodude. The ember reach it's target but doesn't seem to have inflicted a lot of damage. "Geodude! Tackle!" Brock has Geodude bounce off towards a still airborne Charmeleon. "Now! Use Metal Claw!" Timing his attack with Geodude's movements, Charmeleon's claws brighten. "knock 'em down!" Shouts Shiro, with a swift swing of it's claws, Charmeleon slashes Geodude and sends it plummeting to the Ground. Having hit the ground hard, Geodude lay unconscious. "Very impressive, at least you now know a rock type's weakness" Says Brock returning Geodude to it's Pokeball. "Now the real battle begins." Brock throws his second and last Pokeball which reveals a huge snake-like rock Pokemon. "Lets see how you deal with my Onix." Looking up at the huge Pokemon, Shiro gasps. "This might be a bit difficult." Upon feeling Shiro's discouragement, Brock orders Onix to use Bide. "Bide? what kind of move is that?" Asks Shiro. "When Onix uses Bide, it can't attack until after two turns" Brock explaines. "After the two turns is up, Onix will deal double the damage it was dealt to the opponent." Shiro smerks. "heh, what make you think it will last?" Before waiting for an answer, Shiro orders Charmeleon to use Metal Claw on Onix. Charmeleon's attack connects which staggers Onix. "Once more!" Exclaims Shiro. Charmeleon's second attack connects and sends Onix falling to the ground. "See what I mean? you put too much faith in your abilities." Says Shiro. "You're one to talk... Onix! Do your thing!" Hearing it's trainer, Onix slowly raises and starts to glow. "Attack!" Shiro is shocked at the sight of Charmeleon being hurled across the arena slamming into the wall. "What!? No!" To Shiro's surprise, Charmeleon was unconscious. With Charmeleon's loss, Shiro began to doubt himself. "How am I supposed to win now?" Says Shiro looking down in defeat. "How can you be sure you tried your best if you give up now?" Shiro looks up upon hearing Brock's words. "No matter the kind of opponent you face" Says Brock. "Make sure you fight with every last strength, every last Pokemon you have" Shiro clenches his fists finally looking determined. "You're right! I have one Pokemon left, and I know it will bring us victory!" Brock smiles, finally seeing determination in Shiro's eyes. "Let's see what you got" Shiro nods and throws his last Pokeball. the Pokeball opens and a creature pops out. Brock stared at the Pokemon. "Is that a...?" Shiro grits his teeth. "Mankey! Use Fury Swipe!" Hearing his command, the small roundish monkey looking Pokemon raced towards a staggering Onix. "Onix! Use Tackle!" Onix charges and rams into Mankey sending it flying into some rocks around the arena. "Mankey! Don't quit!" Mankey staggers to it's feet just barely holding on. "Onix! Finish it!" Onix charges for a second Tackle. "Get out of the way!" Mankey rolls out of the way of Onix's attack just in time. "Quick! Use Low Kick!!" While Onix was trying to gain it's balance, Mankey comes in quick with a low sweeping kick knocking Onix down. Shiro clenches his fists hoping that Onix wouldn't get back up again. "I.. It's over" Says Brock. Shiro face brightens in delight. "I... I Won!!!" Indeed he had won, Onix lay unconscious while Mankey stands tall. "You did very well" Brock hands Shiro a small grey badge. "What's this?" Shiro asks. "It's the Bolder Badge" Brock explained. "It's proof that you defeated the Pewter City Gym leader" Shiro smiled and thanked Brock for the badge. "Don't stop here though" Says Brock. "There are seven more Gym leaders out there for you to defeat" Brock smiles and taps Shiro on the shoulder. "Continue to grow and befriend more Pokemon" Shiro looks down at Mankey and smiles. "I will, I'm going to be a champion!" Shiro left the Gym with his head held high, remembering Brock's words as he headed to the Pokemon Centre. "I'm going to be a champion, of that I'm sure" His heart filled with hope for the future, Shiro continues his quest to be the Pokemon League Champion.

Thank you ^_^
