I was a little kid, and I was smart enough to see that nintendo was just repackaging the same stuff, and screwin ya over by making you buy both just to complete the pokedex XD, so I stopped around ruby version (which was my favorite). This got me back into it because you basically get to do all the stuff you would do only with people, and no real cost.
speaking of the cost of things, I can't post in the idea submition threads. I had this idea that could majorly boost pokemmos income, give pokemmo fans a chance to put their ideas in the game, and give the game a working economy. and I was hoping someone could pass it along because I really want pokemmo to succeed.
1) for 1 week hold a contest for an item to put in the vanity shop
2) players submit their sprites to a thread and vote on them*
3) at the end of the week the winner gets his/her item added to the vanity shop for 1 week only
4) repeat
* its easy with this freeware to make pixel art sprites https://blackflux.com/node/10
and there are plenty of pokemon base sprites on deviant art.
the impending date where the desired item will no longer be obtainable other than trading (making the better economy) will bring out the impulsivity in people in likely spending $5 a week ($15-$20 a month) to get the newest item. i have no idea how many people play pokemmo but say 10k. lets say only 10% commit to that regular purchase. +$17,500 a month on average. Go ahead, get that gold apple watch B)
