True, DPP is looking really stacked this year since VGC is taking players from other tiers instead of splitting the showdown players into 2 tiers like adv and gen6 OU did. DPP will be really interesting to watch this season.

I'm not sure. imo XPLOZ is arguably the best DPP player. Whether or not the managers rate him as highly is a different question but it wouldn't surprise me if he went in the 2nd round of draft phase.

Change my primary tier to VGC. Played like an hour or so on showdown so I'm pretty much a master. Everyone knows I'm shit at doubles anyway so it isn't that much of a risk for whatever manager is dumb enough to buy me in the first place. To the managers: If you truly love me you won't force me to play doubles, it's a shitty garbage gimmick tier anyway amirite gb?

There are more pokebank players but I definitely wouldn't call most of them 'adamant' players either. The way I see it is in the past we have really only had enough showdown players to make one solid tier with the second one looking weak as fuck, pokebank OU seems to feed into that just like in previous seasons. I don't think VGC has a weaker representation at all and the fact that a lot of the VGC players are usually well established players in other tiers it opens up those tiers for some new faces to shine which could end up being beneficial for other tiers as well. The fact that we may be getting less mediocre showdown players making the better ones really stand out in DPP doesn't seem like a bad thing to me

I was waiting on tiers to be finalized since I'd prefer sign for VGC than Pokebank. Now I'm just waiting for the opportune moment to try steal page king.

I can't be 100% sure about this but I'm sure the number of VGC players is higher than is currently shown. Idk what time it changed but its pretty late right now for a lot of timezones and I'm sure there are a lot of people who are busy / asleep who aren't even aware of the change yet. I'd wait a day before making any assertions about this

I don't understand the hate. Imo 1st for 5th+ 17k is a good trade, I'd take it every time. Trading 20k for 16th place I'm not sure about it as I haven't really looked at the the sign up sheet or done the math but both seem like fine deals to me. Half of the time the big names choke anyway getting a bunch of the 16-30th ranked players doesn't sound bad at all.

The problem really isn't the ban itself or why it got banned rather than a lack of a discussion thread. And then when one is made where people are brining up reasons as to why they don't think it should have gotten banned they get shot down with no counter argument, which is where the lol high usage comes in. I must admit I haven't looked much into tiering rules and what constitutes a quick ban or not but from my albeit small amount of knowledge of LC it was a relatively contraversial decision. To be honest this thread isn't the place to be discussing this and I probably shouldn't have posted it here. But it's just a scary thought that things can be banned like that with no discussion and with doubles usage coming soon and with Meta likely being stupidly high I would rather be safe than sorry.

The main issue I saw was that to my knowledge they banned gastly without even making a discussion thread and then when people voiced their concerns after the fact they were disregarded with "It had 50%+ usage" without any counter arguments for why people wanted gastly to stay. And considering how doubles in the past has often been neglected and is still looked down upon by a certain tier council member I find it very worrying that something like this could be possible. I'm fine with a discussion thread since I'm almost certain on the end result but I just want to make sure no rash action is made.

Now that we are going to be getting doubles usage I feel as though something needs to be pointed out. From the gastly thread: The fact that the main reason used to justify the ban being it had above 50% usage is very worrying when thinking about doubles usage and how high meta is likely to end up when we get the usage. Please don't mindlessly don't push for a meta test, Although I do believe that most of you have the common sense not to do so.

Such a blatant disregard for tiering policies here is very worrying. I would like it to be brought to the attention of everyone that there is currently a poll on the KO thread about the optimal metagame for OU and keeping snorlax was clearly winning, ignoring this sets a very dangerous precedent where the TC is ignoring their true leader and thinking that they can think for themselves is absolutely disgusting. I'm sure when seeing the results of the poll and then seeing that the Snorlax ban is permanent Hotarubi will be very annoyed that her beloved Snorlax is gone, and now you are trying to take Chansey as well?
