IMO this is the best option http://community.invisionpower.com/files/file/4888-irc-chat-32/ It integrates the IRC better and serves the same purpose as a shoutbox while giving a few more options . Only issue is if it gets crowded they may need to make a second room. There's also the issue of them not even advertising the IRC anymore so I take it as them laying the public IRC to rest.

That would be stupid then. It should either been on the main page or in its owns tab (like one at beside the members tab at top). Shoving it in a sub section would kind of defeat it's point. Also I suggested this like a year ago to no avail, as well as when I was a staff member to my knowledge they're not interested in changing the forums.

Given this community's size it wouldn't work. It would constantly be filled with spam and shit post. I don't think they'd want that on the main forums page
