[IPS] Moemon Fire Red Revival Project (Updated 9-17-2019)
Septentrion replied to Moetal's topic in Client Customization
I cannot do ties for some reason. This is mostly showing my ideas. First two of these costumes can be mixed and matched. The last one Is in a United States Air Force uniform in accordance to AFI 36-2903, assuming blue is his natural hair color. Yeah loopholes! edit: Actually, I didn't remember to cut his hair but whatever. -

I don't think they would ever be seen together like that in the game so it doesn't seem worth the design effort. Besides, hat. Maybe he could have the flower to flirt with all the girls. -

Any ideas for Latios's clothes? Working sprite has is robes and spandex pants. Last attempt had a sort of a suit. -

I can see most of your points. The neck is not something our style tends to feature. I moved the head only one pixel right as the pose does requires an assertive posture. I think the original spriter may have an habit overlooking some proportions because I recently noticed Latios is missing much of an arm(Latias and Rayquaza basically had the same top). I can't do much about the tail as fixing the connection may ruin the tail itself as to need an entire reconstruction. It's a better tail than my attempt. You probably need to patch it on the PC first. I haven't figure out how to properly save on my phone emulator though. -

I guess the gloves may have been part of maid motif, but I wasn't really thinking about it. -

Shiny palettes take work and don't happen automatically. They would look completely like trash if nothing was done about them. Edit: #384 Rayquaza Made yellow one color because Rayquaza has glow powers. -

What fun is there in shinies if you already know what they are going to be? Besides, everyone knows there are too many greens. It's support to be a rather rare feature in theory so it can't be a huge problem unless you're not experiencing them through the game. I think we're de-maiding Rayquaza soon. -

Hugequaza was huge like rayquaza, but not slender like Rayquaza. Therefor, I found the one pokemon that fits best with her theme. I think the eyes may be a problem. I guess moetal was going for skin and aggression for Rayquaza. Dress was important. Me editing hat would have been disaster. Colors not fixed. -
Hardcore's Rayray is indeed more slender like Rayquaza. I went for a god-among-moes approach with mine since Rayquaza is enormous. So Rayray would lose midrift and get a new hat. Most of that thread is focused on gen 1 and Emerald is still rather popular. This project should have some level of priority.

It's basically just a catgirl. -
There's an Earth globe in the ad. It's confirmed that the game world is Earth, as I'm very sure they used a non-earth planet for the anime.

Speaking of evolutionary lines, here's one of the worst lines to exist It did not go as well as Hitmontop, but I think it gets the idea across of how to make a Hitmonlee. Tyrouge could just be a simple kid for all I care, as long as he looks like the same person as the evolutions. -

@laGashetaHardcore You haven't even given Latios a hat yet and you already moved on to the next thing I'm working on? You seemed to make a better tail but the bonnet is not good. 80x80 Ray has best hat Dress looks better, although I can't see battles commencing in such a thing. Other than what other players said, the wings should be be angled -

Is this going anywhere? I actually did experiment with a skirt like that but it was a disaster. It may be had to compete with the quality due to the character being 14 pixels too big in both dimensions. The hair is very good in design. I would have preferred to stay true to the character art, but the crown is a problem. Too bad it affects both the backsprite and frontsprite. Much work. I've been thinking about dropping the yellow eyes completely and giving her jade eyes. Since my color precept must be out of wack, I don't know if my eyes look red or yellow, and red eyes are far too common. Hitmonlee sure has been a hard one to even think about. I don't think we've had any suggestion on his actual getup. Maybe he should be shirtless with a mask? I might end up doing a thing with that. -

Do you need any help with that? I see a forth gen. Do you need somewhat mediocre sprites in place of nonexistent or terribad ones? -

I think you could export the sprites in the Nameless Sprite Editor. I think there's an issue with trying to directly transfer form Emerald to Firered and vice versa. There are a couple of emerald versions that haven't been updated in a long time. For Rayquaza, I have a very rough backsprite. So much work left to do. Can't look at it too long

-

This version has been out for months. This is mostly likely a problem with the original Rom being the wrong version or the patching process. EDIT I'm working on the backsprite for Raquaza and figured I should at least get the hair color to what everyone wanted. I darken it two stages so it would be darker than the shirt. I still like the brighter color though. I cut the hair locks in the third image here. To me, it looks like the blending problem is greater with darker hair and the player would just think it was part of the shirt instead of majestically flowing hair. Last image is just brighter boots which I don't like. -

It seems like the manager of that project disappeared. I don't think the art aspect of that would be hard compared to what's already being done here, but I don't think anyone with the technical skills is working on it. -

I did considered making Rayquaza dark skin so she could have more yellow accessories, particularly the collar around her neck. That particular design seems too evil I do like what I made so far and I decided to worry about the backsprite. I haven't decided the best way to approach it yet. -

What matters is that the head is face towards the opponent. The body doesn't need to be facing the opponent during all combat action. Also, #2 putting the trainer directly behind the fighter. At that angle, the trainer would be unable to see much of what the opponent does clearly, and put the trainer in the line of attack. Also, if you think #2 is still ideal, even the official games avoid that angel. They're about 5-4 o'clock angles. It's especial uncommon just stand directly behind in the manga. -

Apparently, my eyes don't bleed easily. I think the bright green hair is beautiful. Can anyone other than me tell two locks of hair are suppose to be falling on her shirt? The arms and hands are better than what I can do. I don't think we should default to red eyes. I think the breasts should have a bit of weight and not be perfect circles. Okay, this may be the last I work on this sprite. I'm not going to try again it for a while. I'd rather talk about backsprites at this point. Here's how I've been thinking about how to organize them. The idea is to have all spites be 1,2, or 3 o'clock by the endgame in terms of evolution. 2 is basically standing with your moemon. 6 should probably not made at all. -

In case anyone wants to know the original art, see spoiler. Warning: axx, don't look.
Rayquaza
I what I have for a backsprite may also be change into Rayquaza. It's a one o-clock backspite however. There's a dearth of good backsprites, and they're not exactly easy to find. I might end up going on a hunt to organizing them edit: @swirly What I turned out was more of an proof of concept. Do you really think the hair is too bright? I pulled the green colors directly from the drawing. Would it be better if it was darker than the shirt?
