  5. Wobbuffet would be perfect to beat Amoongus. We need cancer to beat cancer. Bring back Wobbuffet.
  6. Spore is not the main issue on Amoongus, Regenerator is. Amoongus was Untiered with Spore. Amoongus is OU with Regenerator. Safety Goggles are nice and all, they will help slightly vs Amoongus, but they won't help vs what makes Amoongus an OU mon.
  7. The thing is that it's not only stall. Balance runs Regen cores a lot. The problem is that when a regen core faces another we often end up in a deadlock situation where it's difficult to make progress. Amoongus will be able to switch into the opposing Mienshao/Amoongus with little risk involved. It's not the same situation as having Garchomp switch into Rotom or Rotom switching into Garchomp. Both these mons check each other and can break each other. Amoongus doesn't break Amoongus, they just look at each other and do nothing. On top of that, very few pokemons can switch in Amoongus since very few mons are capable to switch into Spore. Mandibuzz can, but hardly threathen Amoongus. Grass types can switch into Spore, but are instantly forced out because Amoongus coverage (poison/fire). Conkeldurr can switch into Amoongus if Flame Orb is already activated, but Amoongus will most likely win the encounter. The main answers are really Amoongus itself and Gliscor. This shows imo a serious degree of centralization. I'm singling out Amoongus here, but that mon is not the only one responsible for the lack of versatility we see in OU. We have other mons that are currently "too good not to use" and it's very concerning to see. Sure, you can run a team designed to break Regen cores, that's feasible, but that's not what people are doing, that's not the optimal strategy. People don't bring teams that break regen cores and why would they when they can simply stall out the opponents Regen Core with their own. Why would they deprive themselves of one of the strongest archetype when that archetype already has all the tools to wall itself? I was kind of indifferent about the PP nerf at first, but now it's more than clear imo that Regen cores are benefitting way too much from this. Not only did they gain value since their recovery mechanic remained intact, but they also gained a lot from the downfall of Reuniclus and Togekiss which were arguably the best mons to run vs Regen cores. Espeon, a very good mon vs regen cores was also massively hit by the recent addition of Mold Breaker Excadrill. After spectating tournaments, ladder duels and PSL matches, I believe there is nothing healthy about our metagame and it's not going to get better. Something must be done, but the issue is so much needs to be undone before we can even tackle this issue. We have the PP nerf to deal with, the timer exploit to deal with and the regen cores to deal with. We can't deal with everything at once and yet we can still expect more issues to arise with the upcoming Johto update.

You can point out mistakes by saying: Hey I think person A with a score of 1-0 should definetly not be above Person B in the rankings because Reason 1, Reason 2, etc. I have no idea who you were refering to and it just seemed like petty trashtalk. As for the spreadsheet being locked, you can simply make a copy and everything will be unlocked.

  16. Last season scores and projections: Let's say player P is the shelluny that could have been 7-0 with a score of 1605. Let's say player O is double zhiko going 3-0 in two different tiers, so 1256 and 1256. Let's say player M is the mutant combining KaynineXL, CarolML, DoubleJ, Heichicoda and Mkns with the following scores of 1031, 1009, 1084, 1077 and 1086. The way to determine the mvp would be to: divide the scores based on the amount of tiers in which the player has won at least once if the player only won in 1 tier, divide all scores by 1000 if the player won in 2 tiers, divide all scores by 990 if the player won in 3 tiers, divide all scores by 980 if the player won in 4 tiers, divide all scores by 970 if the player won in 5 tiers, divide all scores by 960 if the player won in 6 tiers, divide all scores by 950 multiply all scores together Player P would get a score of 1605/1000 =1.605 Player O would get a score of 1256/990 x 1256/990 = 1.610 Player M would get a score of 1031/960 x 1009/960 x 1084/960 x 1077/960 x 1086/960 = 1.617 The final scores of these 3 players are close which imo is a good thing. There was no consensus among the voters on which of these 3 types of players would be more deserving of the MVP title, so I think it's only fair if these 3 types of player have a fighting chance to win. In the end, it would be the player who faced the best opponents that would end up winning. I have been getting a lot of questions regarding the the MVP will be decided. I hope this post will clarify that. If you see any flaw with the way the MVP would be calculated, speak now or forever hold you peace. Your input welcomed.
  17. Who made the decision for January? Who is "we"? The point of my question is that things to get added all the time these days. Disruptions are no longer exceptionals. They are to be expected. We know Johto is coming for instance and there will likely be disruptions when that happens. It just doesn't seem like we are returning back to normal in the near future, so that's why I would like to know what's the new normal. With all the disruptions to be expected, how is TC planning to navigate these disruptions when it comes to usage movements? If that's true, that discussion should be public so people can bounce off ideas to figure out problems and how to fix them. That's what discussions threads are for after all. I understand you might want a consensus on the matter with other TC members, but shouldn't you guys engage with us instead of discussing these things behind closed doors? I hope my grand children will get to see that day xD That's great news on so many front.
