  1. Imo, if a managers fucks up if line-up, he should just lose PSL and not be chosen as a manager anymore. If PSL seasons were shorter, a manager that loses would not be a big deal imo. I guess the only thing we can do is agree to disagree. I wonder about moving the trade deadline from week 5 instead of week 6. Team Riga was not the last team this season. Savage Swamperts were no longer in contention before team Riga, right? Shouldn't the deadline be fixed prior to week 5 with that in mind? Edit: A team that is 0-4 can't make playoffs I think. Is there a scenario where a 0-3 team can't make playoffs?
  2. Silence means consent. I'm glad we all agree.
  3. Well, LC is as respectable of a tier as Doubles, so to be fair we should have both LC and Doubles or none of these tiers.
  4. 1. Trades only benefit certain managers since trades are only done between 2 parties. A trade benefits only the managers involved. Sometimes a trade benefits only one of the managers involved, since the other one is not so bright. PSL is a competition. When a manager improves its roster, this is bad for other managers. 2. Every manager can offer on any player from any team is not equal chance since the manager recieving the offer is free to refuse to offer. Let's make this really simple. After the initial auction, managers all get their line-up. Some line-up are stronger than others. Do you think allowing trades advantages the manager with the best line-up?
  5. I personally don't think there is anything fun about making the PSL less competitive. Managers are supposed to have an equal chance to acquire the players they need for their line up. They don't have an equal chance to do so when trades are allowed. Not competitive.
  6. I'm not sure the analogy applies to PSL and that also doesn't mean I will follow someone that jumps off a bridge.
  7. Trades will always be a problem since they fuck up the initial auction. Let's say there are 8 DPP players. Manager X buys 7 DPP players. Manager Y buys 1 DPP player for a large amount of credit because that was the last DPP player available. All other managers end up without a DPP player. If after the auction Manager X starts to trade off all his/her DPP players, this completly fucks Manager Y that paid a lot of credit for his own DPP player. Trades will always be a problem because no matter the limitation, there will always be a way for trade to be abused one way or anothe so that palyers end up in the team they want to be in.
  8. This is a half-measure imo. Trades have always been broken and, even though we add new limitations at the beginning of a new season, trades always end up fucking up everything. Trades do not provide excitement or interest. Drama provides that, and since people complain about how broken trades are, we always end up with drama. If PSL seasons become stale fast, perhaps making the seasons shorter would be more appropriate.
  9. Everything I wrote disapeared when I pressed the submit reply button :/ The purpose of a hosting group is not to lesser the bias of every ruling, but to lesser to hosting burden on hosts. Throught a PSL season so much needs to be done: posting threads, updating threads, making decisions (like you mentionned), auction preparation, funding, managing managers, etc. Unlike you, I have never hosted a PSL season, so I might be overestimating how time consuming hosting may be. If someone is up to the task, great. About activity calls, a host needs to be there at the end of the week to make those calls. If there was a hosting group, the members of that group present at the end of the week would simply vote on these activity calls. Voting doesn't have to be a long proces: 15-30 mins is more than enough imo. As for rules that are not self-explanatory, maybe some of these rules should be more detailed so that as many scenarios are taken in consideration in a way that makes ruling is simpler and more straight forward. Some of the rules will always have a non self-explanatory part, but talking about them could help make the rulings less subjective and less open to interpretation.
  10. PSL is a truly remarkable event where players have a chance to compete against each other in a unique format. However, no matter how great PSL was, is and will be, this event remains far from perfect from a competitive and organizational stand point. The main idea behind the changes I am proposing is to keep things simple and to eliminate easily exploitable flaws in the current system. Initial auction integrity: Sign-up bias: PSL organisation: Major discussions regarding every PSL rule should be done before a season imo. A PSL host should not have the burden to be a "ruler". Ideally, rules should simply be followed - just like a tiering policy should be followed ^^. I might be too optimisitc about this group idea, but I believe setting up a forum account for PSL season 7 shared by multiple users could work.
  11. It is also arguably better than Haunter at countering Chansey with CM + Sub. The support moves like twave and heal bell are also pretty nice.
  12. I though I was among the few to play Misdreavus in OU, but after doing some matchmaking I was pleasantly surprised when I saw so many Misdreavus being played. Has anyone else noticed Misdreavus being more viable/used compared to before?
  13. I was not talking about myself specifically. If PSL was hosted by multiple individuals, they would have to get along to make the season great.
  14. Is there a reason - beside convenience - why a PSL season needs to be hosted by an individual instead of a community group? Hosting is obviously a lot of work for only one person.
  15. It used to be 4 I think, maybe it changed.
  16. The usage before Snorlax is not comparable to the usage with Snorlax since the usage gathering system changed. We also had a reset which mean "before Snorlax" is no longer relevant.
  17. Something important to keep in mind imo is that the pokemons that get a stat boost in gen 7 might not be the same pokemons that we have in PokeMMO. For instance (correct me if I am wrong), Dugtrio gets a big atk boost in gen 7, but Dugtrio in gen 7 no longer has access to Arena Trap since Dugtrio will be in Alola form. If we give an atk boost to Dugtrio in PokeMMO, we could end up creating a pokemon that simply doesn't exist. I don't know how gen 7 really works exactly, so I might be worried about something impossible or irrelevant.
  18. The problem is that the offers are accepted or refused by a manager - no offense riga, you're actually a cool guy - that isn't able to properly evaluate the value of his players since he is losing psl right now for that very reason.
  19. I don't mean to offend you, but I think you are being overly optimistic and naive. By allowing trades, managers have the power to destroy their team if they wish. This is not really a problem. However, when managers destroy their team - consciously or not - they also give a big boost to another team that benefit from an advantageous trade. As long as trades are allowed - especially in the way they are allowed - PSL is not really a fair competition since some teams benefit from discriminatory advantages and others don't.
  20. Clearly, if a player knows that if he plays badly, he will be traded off what is even the point of doing an auction? Let's just have LYLE vs AURA from the beginning and skip the worthless 6 weeks we went through. A competition implies equal chances to all participants. In this case, the participants are teams which are clearly unequal since we keep seeing players with different psl values getting traded off like crazy.
  21. Thanks for making a complete farce out of PSL in a way that encourages players to play like shit until they get traded off to the team in which they want to get in. Super competitve.
  22. Coming from an attention seeking ugu like yourself - whose only redeeming quality is the incapacity of displaying your hypocrisy and your intellectual dishonesty simulatenously - this cute insult is nothing more than failed attempt to justify the stupidity of those trades. The reason why I don't participate in PSL is exactly because of these shit decisions that transform this competition into a fuckign circus. Just think about it; if a team that went through 6 weeks of PSL is not the same team that goes into week 7, what is the point of going through those first 6 weeks? It goes without saying that a team qualified for playoff should have the merit of getting qualified and yet this is not the case... Is PSL a competition for the community or an excuse for managers to jerk players around as they shit talk other managers at the expense of all participants? Pathetic.
