1. Create an area in the game where you can have a hunting ground (the game corner on 2 island comes to mind as a location). To activate the hunting ground, the player must bring 5 pairs of species. The grounds would then open to the player who can then hunt in those grounds and they would only encounter those 5 species. You could have it on a step based system like the safari zone and the player would have to keep bringing 5 pairs for each round. Thoughts?
2. Heh. Hahahahah. The problem with the current breeding? 1. New players don't like losing their parents, so them not knowing any better become discouraged by the new system. 2. Breeding at its core is bad for the economy. 3. Breeding raises the standard for competitive pokemon and thus raises the barrier of entry to competitive battling. 4. It's a huge grindfest. 5. RNG is decreased (RNG in the acquisition of assets in MMO's help make them fun and interesting. Just look at RuneScape. When you go bossing you get really excited when you get a rare drop). Now, from what I've seen, #1 can be alleviated by informing the players of why the breeding system is like that; however, that doesn't work all the time... So an ingame breeding tutorial would at least help with maybe 25-50% of "I hate the new system" cases. #2 can't be fixed. #3 can't be fixed. You can reduce the grind to lower the barrier of entry, but that will hurt the economy more. #4 look at #3 #5 With how much people have to invest in each pokemon they breed, you can't afford to leave it up to chance. Thus you lack this aspect in your game. (The only time players really feel good about RNG is either in battles, or when they catch a ton of dittos). At this point in the game, you can't do anything that benefits both the comp scene and the economy. You crossed that line when breeding was first implemented.
3. Also, when catching dittos. If you don't have a false swiper who can take it down to 1 hp in 1 hit, then you should get a magikarp that only knows splash, let the ditto transform into that, then proceed like normal. If you do have a good false swiper who can take it down to 1hp in 1 hit, then you want to first hit it with false swipe, and then spore. Ultra balls will catch dittos 100% if they are asleep and at 1 hp. Sometimes using pokeballs and greatballs can get annoying.
4. https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/49440-the-new-breeding-guide/ if you read that and still don't understand, then I suggest just trying the breeding system out in person. Practicing will give you experience and you'll eventually get the hang of it.
5. Seriously, if you give stuff away, make a word doc. and write down who gets what. So when you come back you can locate it all.
6. wut? That's not what I meant OH. I see where you are getting confused. No, I meant that the shard would make the IVs come out so that you got the corresponding HP. But if the Parents couldn't normally make that hidden power offspring, then it wouldn't work. It would still use the IVs of the Parents, and wouldn't make impossible HP combinations. i.e. if you have two parents with 12/13/14/15/16/17 and 19/20/21/22/24/24, and you give the parent a Flying shard. Then the Offspring could be 12/16/14/18/20/17 (3 directly passed, 3 averaged). edit: again, I haven't really given this much thought... Like at all.
7. Oh, I didn't mean using the red shard, green shard, etc. I meant to make whole new items. Fire shard does not equal red shard. And the shard wouldn't make the impossible happen. The parents would have to be at least able to make such a hidden power offspring (even if it would be really unlikely). The shard would just take away having to rely on luck.
8. congratz on CM status

9. make new items, like "Fire Shard", "Ice Shard", "Grass Shard", etc. That when given to a parent will cause the resulting offspring to have the corresponding Hidden Power.
Before you call me stupid, I haven't given this any thought in the first place.
10. Family Guy is great.
11. without a hacking device, you will have to use the EV reducing berries to reduce them all the way down to 0 for each stat. Then you can caculate the IVs accurately.
12. Next up is toxiica. Sorry I haven't done any in a while, I've been pretty busy. And I did one for me.
13. The latios has EVs. it probably isn't a 5x31 (hence why it says "Invalid Stat"). You can figure out the exact IVs of that latios, only if you can figure out the EV Spread on the pokemon. But, without hacking the game that will be hard. So the only other option would be to use the EV reducing berries to reset the EV spread to 0. sorry for being a party pooper ;-;
14. I dunno about "so easy" but it will definitely be a lot less painful.
15. I'm not sure if you should have a section on a shiny trading guide. If you want to become a shiny trader, you should join a team that can actually help you with that. Prices are not always stable, and you often need friends to help seal deals. There are two ways to go about shiny trading. 1. Take advantage of noobs and basically scam them. or 2. Be very patient and wait for the good deals. If you are impatient with your trades you will end up losing a lot and will have to rebattle grind a hell of a lot more. just my two cents. (note: I'm not a shiny trader myself, so take my words with a grain of salt. But I have been in one of the top, if not the top, shiny trading teams for pretty much 2 years now). As far as the rest of the guide is going, looking good! Also, when you talk about the chats, maybe put in there how they can change the language of the chat they speak in? (if you weren't planning on doing that already)
16. No, I understood you perfectly. Breeding a 6x20+ pokemon costs nowhere near that of a 6x31. It looks like to me, you seem to be under the impression that every single breeding project, despite what IVs the ingredient pokemon have, will have to follow the method that I outlined in my Perfect Breeding section of my Breeding Guide. That is nowhere near the case. You only follow that method (which is the most expensive way of breeding) if you are breeding for perfect pokemon; anything less than perfect, then it's usually stupid to do so. There can be a lot of relevance to bracing a sub 31 stat. The main one being 30's for hidden powers. But even 25+ can usually be braced when you have a pair that looks something like: 27/2/21/x/24/31 with the nature 26/25/27/x/22/31 without the nature obviously you brace the attack stat of the pokemon without the nature, which would end up with you getting a great competitive pokemon out of the breed. And yes, you are right. Most of the sales happen at the low end pokemon (the ingredient pokemon) rather than the completed pokemon. We knew this going in though... So I don't really think it's a problem. Furthermore, comp ready pokemon and UT's are still traded on the market, so... OK. Here you are wrong. You are not viewing this the right way. When you brace a stat for a lower IV pokemon, you are not using the same amount of braces as you would on a, say 5x31 pokemon. That does not mean that you are spending the same amount on each stat between the two pokemon (if I'm making sense). Each 31 on the 5x31 costs way more than the corresponding stats on a 5x25, for example. On the 5x31, you likely spent around 855k for the 57 braces necessary (not counting 2x31 or greater ingredient pokemon that you catch). That means that each 31 on that pokemon costs approximately 171k (ignoring other costs). When you look at a 5x25, you do not spend 855k on braces for it (if you do, then shame on you); you likely spent around 195k for braces (that's 13 braces), which means that each 25 on your pokemon costs 39k, which is significantly cheaper than 171k ea. and not that much of a quality drop (And note that you can easily use less than 13 braces for a 5x25 pokemon). So no, you aren't paying the same for lesser stats. You are thinking about it wrong. edit: And yes, what Gunthug said, Opportunity cost also plays a part in why 31 stats are more expensive than lesser stats. OK, first I must apologize here. I did not realize you meant that your suggested breeding system would live with the current breeding system. So sorry about that. I take back my statement about people quitting. However, despite that, I do not support your suggestion, because it would be counterproductive for the development team. They just got done justifying the killing of the two parents due to not wanting cloning of pokemon, and this would allow cloning (albeit nerfed) to happen again. And I agree with cody, at that point it would just be better to go out and catch pokemon...

I will still host officials, it is something I love to do. :) Thank you btw ^^

18. "In otherwords, why would I build a poke under the current breeding system unless it was perfect? I mean why would I spend the exact same amount of cash as I would on a perfect one, on one that isnt perfect? This mentality means everyones looking for perfection and its the only thing worth actually doing when your stacking that many together and using that much resources to make one poke. Where as a casual player is going to think the pokemon is great if all the ivs are 20+, so why do those guys who just want a 20+ in everything have to ALSO pay as much as the people who want perfect ones? If I want to keep a IV with the current system, even if its not 31, I still pay the same price.. so nonperfection isn't worth anyones time or money under the current system and I think this is a major flaw." (sorry on my phone). This just shows how much you don't understand about the new breeding. A 20+ pokemon in all stats would be nowhere near the cost of a perfect pokemon, unless you're just stupid about it. Though I agree that rarity isn't a big deal, when you look at this system and the old system, the "rarity" of pokemon becomes clear. Sure you can catch every pokemon in the wild, but that takes a lot of time. In the old system, pokemon were easily distributed for free to new and old players alike. You don't see people handing out torchics, eevees, lapras's, etc, anymore. You also seem to be confusing "rarity" with "being rare". The rarity of pokemon is relative to each species and helps determine how much of a pokemon you will see on the market. A pokemon that is actually "rare" would be Feebas, since they can no longer be obtained. As for you're breeding suggestion of 50% IVs, that would probably cause a plethora of people to quit, as it would become so much harder to make comps. I suggest you actually contemplate about what you're saying before posting, because to me, it looks like you: 1. Don't understand the new breeding. 2. Don't understand the consequences of your suggestion. 3. Don't have a system wide view when considering the topic.
19. or you know... you could just not breed for perfection... Perfect pokemon are supposed to be rare/expensive. Compared to the old system, where 6x31 smeargles and such were starting to become commonplace, this system is a lot better. It shouldn't take you very long to make a comp worthy pokemon. It will take you a while to make a perfect one though, which is only natural. I don't see any issue with the actual breeding mechanics (other than the fact that noobs hate losing their pokemon). The issue lies in the grind for money, evs, hidden power, etc. Which Kyu has already stated that they will be balancing it out.
20. Here you go, Sneaky: lemme know if you want something tweaked. I always appreciate honest feedback.
21. you need to put the emerald rom (make sure it's a USA version) into the ROM folder.
