1. I wouldnt say that Fire Punch outclasses Crunch too much. Fire Punch leaves your Lax more vulnerable to Bulky Gar switch ins and makes it weaker in a CM Slowbro vs Curselax fight. So both moves can be more useful than the other depending on your team needs IMO.
2. Well honestly if all you had to do to sweep with Curselax was kill his Hera, then his team was poorly built.
3. Needs to add Snorlax back at S rank.
4. Why did you calc without choice band? 252 Atk Choice Band Aerodactyl Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Blissey: 156-184 (43 - 50.8%) -- 3.9% chance to 2HKO Don't give me that hurl durl I shouldnt be forced to run CB on a poke with average attack stat to beat a common special wall.
5. I think one of the reasons Aerodactyl is being more popular is because its a great check to CM Espeon, which can beat Blissey with the right moveset, like Sub+CM will beat Sp atk+Toxic and Morning Sun+CM will beat Sp atk+Seismic Toss so the chance of being steamrolled by CM Espeon is pretty scary since theres not a lot of physical attackers who outspeeds it. Another nice thing going for Aerodactyl is to remove Dugtrio with Pursuit so it wont revenge kill anything else. Overall I like the current meta better than the Snorlax meta since theres much more diversity and viable play styles.
6. Lol when I created this thread I searched to see if there was any topic like that, search feature is so good -_-
7. Why is Ursaring not on the ranks? This thing is a threat to any wall, it almost always forces sacking at least one pokemon, or a risky predict of the SD because it can hit hard even without boosts. I would say it fits B or B+. And I agree with Keith here, Porygon 2 definitely does not fit Rank A, it fits C or B at BEST. It can be trapped by Subversal Dugtrio but it also can revenge kill CB Dugtrio which is nice. Another useful thing is that it doesnt force you to go Blissey everytime your opponent has Jolteon out. I'd give Dugtrio Rank A, trapping Metagross and Heracross, the top tier threats is just wonderful. People say that one of its downsides is that it gives the opponent a free chance to set up Gyarados or Charizard which can be fatal, but that also happens to any Choice Bander locked on Earthquake so I really don't get this point.
8. Doing a quick bump on this one, I would love to have a feedback from any GM. It would be great if this have any chance to be implemented, because honestly its not much to ask. Losing a pokémon potential because of either a misclick(imagine teaching Thunderpunch to Breloom and misclicking on Spore as example) or the pokémon simply having an Outdated moveset sucks so bad.
9. It says 5PM EDT on poster and 5PM EST on Date+Time, which one is right?
10. IGN: ShucklePwnz Country: Brazil
Srs, if someone from another continent sign up saying they are from a country in America, how can you prove otherwise?
11. I didn't see any, but again its a bit early to tell if they gonna be problematic or not, their viability is much higher w/o Lax thats for sure.
12. So after the spont today it seems the meta got more offensive(or we were just bad) because of the number of pokemon who can switch more often on Blissey than Snorlax. But there's still many tournaments to happen so its a bit early to tell if the meta got better or not.
13. Well if you want a spiker which doesn't get trapped by Magneton you just run Cloyster in OU, besides Magneton is not THAT common. I think Glalie might be able to do it's job in UU, but the lack of either a high base stat of HP, Defense or SpDefense and resistences, it's not easy to switch it in. I have seen people run Cacturne on UU and it did pretty fine, but that's because it has resistences against common types in UU like Water, Grass and Psychic.
14. lol people still think there are other viable special walls other than Blissey if Lax is gone. Gardevoir, Ludicolo, Dusclops all gets sh*t on by Gengar with a special attacker set. Umbreon is just a bait to everything, maybe fully special defensive P2 could do some work but that still gets wreckt by Sludge Bomb STAB in a few turns. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Blissey will be in every team, but is it a problem? Not really IMO, if Lax didn't have Curse, both special walls could be used as much, but I know complex bans ain't happening so w/e. I'm all for a suspect test although I doubt the meta will be any better.
15. I like the breeding, but there needs some changes to be made, like the Confirmed IV's and an option to release a Pokémon in their summary. I also feel like Braces price could be decreased to 10K, to make a decent comp it takes a LOT of breeding and Braces eventually drains your money pretty fast, not to mention the Gender selection.
16. I started playing this at the end of 2013 just to have fun playing Pokémon with other people. And here I learned everything I didn't knew about Pokémon, mostly competitive stuff. On the first months of 2014 I enjoyed grinding heavily on Payday to buy Pokémon, and that's where most of my money came from. Now I enjoy to breed my own, raise them, chat with friends, do casual duels and watch tournaments. My trainer card :)
17. You don't know Vermilion and occasionally some of them go to officials, so watch out kappa.
18. Scizor with Swords Dance+Fury Cutter beats that set though, hue.
19. Only a 3x31 3x30 Smeargle and a 2x31 3x30 female Eevee, now I gotta actually grind, like spending 1 hour catching pokémon and another hour confirming IV's, its fun.
20. Sometimes you must take risks, the game isn't all about safe switches. Its not only Gengar who is dangerous if you don't know the set, there's a couple more Pokémon who can have 2 or more sets that scouting may make you lose the game or sack something, its part of the game. And>Misdreavus. Weezing and Slowbro are nice, but the difference is that they are a wall, and IMO the game shouldn't rely only on walls for switches against sweepers, fragile pokémon with resistences and immunities also exists and Gengar is one of them. Gengar is one of the Pokémon who keeps the gameplay more diverse rather than Walls switching on Sweepers and Sweepers switching on Walls all day.
