  1. Except I don't have a chomp already top kek. This game is more like a battle simulator than it is an mmo, the mmo features are few and far between and literally based around wasting time. I emplore you to read my entire post bro .. I want it to actually be a mmo not just a lame ass grind with no reward than hurr Durr more battle simulator lol. Don't tell me to quit because I don't agree like everyone else, it's not cool bro, and it's very toxic. I'm literally offering tons of advice as a game dev myself, I'm not just complaining, I'm offering options and solutions. Something I see nobody else doing btw. You claim you want to balance the game for nubs but here you go locking gameplay mechanics behind a bunch of bullshit that will likely be too hard for casuals to even consider attempting. Making HAs hard to get is toxic as fuck. You are fucking over every single long term player in this game and making it hard to even play the 5th gen battle simulator. You guys seem to fail to realize, after all the bullshit, after I rebreed everything, I'm still just gonna be playing the 5th gen battle simulator. The dungeons being like a fleeting deviation, only lasting maybe an hour before I never have to return again bar legendaries. You guys seem to literally disregard your community left and right. Sacrificing the players base for the ""economy"", well guess what, economy aint shit with no playerbase either. Elvis presly said some very relevant shit, " Always listen to your fans" they are the reason you guys have a project to work on, if you notice you've pissed off everyone with some rediculous update, you should try and fix it not just basically give old members the middle finger pandering to a "new" fanbase that's just going to pay the storyline and then quit after anyway. Here's an idea: instead of focusing on taking vanilla Pokemon mechanics and mmo-ifying them. You should take mmo mechanics and poke-fying them. Grinding for hours for an ability is the opposite of fun, it's lifeless, fucking boring, and like I said before, fleeting. When you start brainstorming new ideas you should ask yourself 1 question: is this fun? You're making a fucking game for the kiddos. It's gotta be fun. I swear to god this game is a missed opportunity. We have the dankest market in any Pokemon game (RuneScape Grand exchange) but no pvp staking?? No player owned housing in cities??? No even attempt or consideration towards open wilderness pvp one day... No attempt or consideration towards open world mechanics, mining for resources, player classes and levels. With features like those you don't even need drip feed updates, they are so fun as it is you can play like that forever, maybe add a new class here and there etc. Nobody gives a fuck about the concept of hidden abilities, when gen 5 was new we all thought it was fucking stupid they were locked behind the dream world and just gened them anyway. Nintendo even undid all that and made them very easy to get in the friend Safari. Learn from their mistakes. Listen to the players who stay for long periods of time, because they see some sort of potential nobody else sees. And please PLEASE consider adding mmo features instead of time wasting features.
  3. no matter what you pay its probably gonna be more than the in game leveling feature (daycare) just lvl your mons to like lvl 75 and then place in daycare the the final 25 levels while you lvl other shit, you rly cant beat 1k a lvl lol

The base of the game was a multiplayer emulated experience by no economy or tiers were present. This had some interested and mazing results. Shinies, lucky eggs, and pokemon became the currency and this was all decided collectively by the players. Many old players refer to this time-period as "CatchMMO" as well because breeding was not present. While many disliked this leading to the breeding system being implemented, many players actually enjoyed the exclusivity of certain gift pokemon, and the thrill of catching a pokemon with very good ivs. Although tthis made the battle system much less deep and as such the comp scene was not taken seriosuly for a while. 3v3s were the norm but it still had a very fun atmosphere and with no automated system in place people were required to interact much more. I think PokeMMO can learn from its past and provide similar peramiters to increase the fun a bit and player to player direct interaction. One way it can do so is simply allowing teleportation to the battle arena when they are spectating a battle. Just this small feature alone would bring back alot of the hype lost due to automation. PokeMMO is very long running and i joined in september 2012. It has a bright future ahead for it and i look forward to all the new features it will provide!   6. lol you seem to be forgetting that im also creating jobs and an advertising network from within the game, i need to have resources to pay any writers/mailmen i decide to offer as well as whatever giveaways and comps i want to do through the newspaper. 10k a week is really cheap and to unsubscribe they simply just dont pay for the next month kek if i allowed people to quit then i would potentially have no money to those i wish to hie and almost all the money i will be actually making will be used for giveaways etc

New players almost always quit after the storyline, and will certainly quit once they manage the 100 hours it takes to make a team and that still doesn't make them good at battling. Hidden Abilities: Locking them behind some weird grind that's not even accessible until after a storyline is absurd. There's like a million reasons why, here's some: * Makes it 100% harder for n00bs to git gud, doesn't matter if you go hidden ability pill route or the dungeon route, it makes it just that much harder for n00bs to be able to actually play pvp when they're already competing with veteran esports masters, if you really cared about making shit accessible you'd simply add HAs as a third ability available anywhere * Rebreeding just to stay relevant is toxic content, puts a bad taste in literally everyone's mouth * People will already NEVER run out of new shit to breed, there's no "oh every Mon is bred, game is dead now" not only do people quit, they also try new sets, and new tiers, for 1 player to have every Mon In every tier with every set is not only ridiculous, it's impossible. Not to mention, after you get done dropping millions and 12 hours of your precious time on ONE Mon, it could still be a piece of shit, or you might simply not be good enough to even use it right * People have been VERY adamant about not liking this philosophy, by going through with this plan you're basically saying "oh yeah I read your comments m8, I completely disregarded them too lololol" you should be trying to please us, not making us quit left and right "for the grind longevity" inb4 12 people tell me to quit because I dislike some of the recent decisions being made. No I'm not quitting, I joined almost 6 years ago, every post I've ever made on these boards offering my honest advice (as a game dev myself I might add) has been out of LOVE for this game. I've seen it go from a thriving MMO to one with 4 matchmaking matches all with the same players over and over and that's so sad to see. People play MMOs because there long term time investments actually mean something. Literally the last 3 updates have done nothing but shit on your long term players and the game has never been so dead. Learn from your mistakes. Move forward with some respect for the players. Add actual MMO features ffs. That is all.

  17. So upon a quick search for java-based pokemon-mmo engines (lol not specific at all). The source code is the meat and potatoes, battling, trading, stats etc. Heres the real question guys: If you are using an open source engine to use as a base.... Why arent you crediting the original team?

  19. Wow i am genuinely surprised that my post actually drew you to interact with the community which you are responsible for its (current) existence. Heres the thing: When we send you money, well give you even more money back if what you give us back is quality. Dont you wanna make more money? Allow me to explain what i meant by "fake content". While it may be new to this game, many of us are already familiar with it from playing on sims like pokemon shodown. You guys arent nintendo its not a "new" ability. Its just another ability in a list of 3 and all the arbitrary restrictions were literally invented to promote the flash game dream world bullshit. Theres literally no reason to implement it that way other than to waste our time even further. Like i said earlier the breeding process itself is plenty expensive/time consuming as it is. The only reason anyone would get a new ability or a legend, ultimately, is to either use or trade it. While being in a traded state it sits in a box, useless. Thusly the comp players would act as a net to catch the mons that they need, causing most of the good mons bred to be done so specifically for comp play. Comp play is the driving factor to most breeds made. I never asked for an ETA, instead I gave an ETA. I said it would take you about a year to start to see the HAs. I made this deduction based on the amount of time it took for previous updates and also factoring in about how long itll take before all abilities are done before focusing 100% on all elemental dungeons Its not like you guys are hiding anything, we have a super good idea of whats coming. Since i already know, thanks to the info youve given us, i am free to already make my judgments. While the mechanic of auto accepting duels is there, that is the only thing that relates these 2 things together. Haha wowww, do you even like pokemon? Its amazing how it is its why any of us are even here. You clearly didnt even read my suggestion tho bro :( Its aight ill help out w/ some bullet points *Only certain mons are catchable * Its a new region * There are safe areas and ez lvl caps * Areas with dank farming * Auto accept duel * Kill transfers party + items to box resetting players to noobville And variables can be consistently adjusted after release like making party size 3, take out certain mons available, etc. It means get away from the cookiecutter perfectly accurate rom. Take out all the barriors in the water areas after the e4, allow us to cut through trees/burn them. Things of that nature. Then we can explore and find new islands and shit like that. I never even suggested for it to be automated, and that would be hella sketch, the player to player interaction that goes on with staking is amazing and its how you grow to trust someone. Yeah like having us teleport to the arena when we spectate...... Sure theres better shit, and sinks are good but secret bases suck cause they are on routes and can be shared and not truly "owned" Its not pointless because it awards different boosts at the highest levels, rewarding your for your long time spent. Level 99 is no easy task and it brings so much satisfaction. Here the thing about ruining the ditto market.... Youve removed one of the biggest money making methods in the game!!! The GTL friggin used to run on dittos. Because dittos were soooo common, one could easily make a comp genderless only a few stats from perfect... with hidden power too! so few people had the perfects that it was irrelevent, everyone used imperfect shit. People keep asking me to cite examples but i always thought there was a rule where i cant call out other players? If you wanna see look through old reports of mine of through this thread even. Certain members of the TC, 1 in particular, is one of the most toxic ppl on these boards. Its really simple really. When i play the game i keep track of how many people play pvp, as well as how many players i see around the gameworld.... In 2012 this game was LIT AS FUCK this is because many techs blogs wrote articles about this game as well as a 4chan thread almost always advertising the game. Now i can tell its ded.

And its decisions like these that makes the majority of the playerbase not trust the devs, they completely disregard our opinions and do whatever the fuck they want, which is why i suggested a more democratic system. Sure but in return they are offered vanities which are valued amongst all player groups. When you switch out the rewards with something that is ONLY valuable to PvP players.... it becomes an unnessesary burden. Having to pay a shitload to breed should be enough. Then it should be fun enough to keep them here, if they ALL leave so soon sokething MUST be seriously wrong. Gr8... Lets add REAL content then I'm essentially calling out what makes this game "Just Bullshit, No Games"

I said it COULD be a thing if the game grew in popularity instead of falling and if the demand is there, it could serve as additional PvP content. Thats all i was saying, the the correlation between lack of mons and the need for more tier for more variation. If dungeons are anything like the winter one then yes, its fake content. Its just the BF dressed up in another way Exactly, its a waste of fucking time. If they really cared about balanced easy to get into PvP they wouldnt bar new abilities and mons behind complicated dungeons and instead make then accessible as a regular ability. Of course my opinions are biased, so is everyone elses. I'm being held to ridiculous standards just because im questioning the status quo The story line players continue to just quit after the storyline, rarely getting into PvP. Both the 5th gen update, this newst update, and the dungeons update all directly affect and harm longstanding members (the ones we should care about most). This is evidenced in overall dead-ness in the game and inability to even do PvP matchmaking. Did more harm then good fissuring trust with core players even further Hardly ANYONE uses the forum. I am very certain youd see more pissed off players, and those that speak other languages than english. Not to mention the droves who quit without telling anyone. I have enough "knowledge" to see members of the TC being toxic on the forums, and enough "knowledge" of seeing the devs consistently making decisions that hurt the community. The point went right above your head. The boss thing refers to having 1 person in charge who can ultimately veto any decision you throw at him if it interferes with personal bias, having no "boss" eliminates that bias by not having 1 guy pulling all the strings and making it a more cocreative process. Well then you have no hope for the future of this MMO. People didnt know Rome fell till like 300 years after. Change = Growth = Life this MMO is stagnated as fuck and you know it. And they are limiting themselves in doing so, like i said the game can be safe using compartmentalized knowledge. MMOs NEED many developers because they HAVE to be adding new shit. They absolutely need more help.
