  1. That could work. Level something to 5, EV train, then enter in Little Cups. The pay one can be used on everything which is a huge advantage outside of little cup, so it wouldn't be cheating. I don't like the idea of it being consumable though, since grinding is already making me stab my eyes out. Just make it fairly difficult to get. Call it the Mini-Amnesia Brace, lol! I'd definitely prefer the actual Amnesia Brace over it, but for those who dont want to "pay2win" it could be useful.
  2. But then filling up your pokedex wouldnt be as fulfilling. Rather than saying "I had to catch, evolve, breed, and trade to get a full pokedex" all you would have to do is battle with all the npc trainers for most of them. Then the people who did fill their pokedex to the current possible completion would be cheated out of a bragging right.
  3. (Skitty and Wailord are in the Field egg group. Thats how we get Skitty on Wailord action fufufu) Anyways I skipped through most of this argument going on but I cant tell who is supporting it and who is not anymore :/ These dont have to be temporary anyways. Maybe when the trainer tower is brought in we'll have a Battle Point system and move tutor moves can be bought? It does not take away from breeding as much as you'd think. It actually allows for larger movepools for bred Pokemon. For instance, I was looking up fun moves for a special sweeper charizard. You can breed Crunch and Outrage onto it through Rhyhorn, but not Thunderpunch in the same movepool. Rhydon can learn thunderpunch through an emerald move tutor, but rhyhorn cannot meaning Charizard (bred from smeargle>rhyhorn>charmander) could get Outrage, Crunch, and Thunderpunch all in one moveset IF we can get move tutors. All it would be doing is adding more moves to the available movepool, and adding new sets available for use in competitive play. You would still have to earn the moves, like how battle points were able to be spent in emerald, so I still see it as worthwhile. Not to mention you wouldnt have to re-breed something when a new move becomes available through a bridge. For how long it already takes to breed a pokemon with the right nature and good IVs I see this as a very welcome addition. Just imagine how many eevees will be re-bred when heal bell is released. Or for that matter heal bell+seismic toss Chanseys that will be bred and people training to replace their current ones. I'm sure there are more Pokemon people would be sure to upgrade into a superior set, which honestly feels like punishment. Move Tutors for trainer tower battle points. Heck they could even put a timer on the trainer tower similar to the E4 so you cant farm it all day if you are worried about that sort of thing.
  4. A white lab coat would be sweet.
  5. Sorry about the Sky Attack/Brave Bird thing, mixed up the two. But Wailmer is in the Field and Water 2 Egg groups. So with a male smeargle it can learn it. So chain from Smeargle, to Wailmer, to Shellder. I was trying to show whoever wanted to say "just use egg chains" that its still quite impossible for some Pokemon to learn the move. 2 in your nightmare list can learn it through smeargle, but there are simply no bridges for some of the moves. This also made me wonder about other pokemon now that we are relying completely on egg chains for better movesets. I'll say it again: Some moves are still missing outright though, and some bridges may be missing. I like this idea, though I'd also like to see more move tutors. Make us trade specific items (like shards) for the better moves like how it was done in Emerald. Some tutors wanted a specific amount of shards, others BP. Heck maybe this could be part of the trainer tower reward system.
  6. Some moves are still missing outright though, and some bridges may be missing. Brave Bird was introduced in 4th gen. Good Luck. Sky attack: Aerodactyl, Crobat, Togetic. Nightmare can only currently be learned by the Gengar line, or Hypno at lv. 0 (thus move-relearner) so its currently in the Amorphous and Human-Like egg groups (and field with smeargle). There are no bridges that can learn this, so it is unavailable outside of those egg groups. Nightmare: Butterfree, Clefairy, Clefable, Slowpoke, Slowbro, Dunsparce, sneasel. Dunsparce and Sneasel are in the Field egg group. They can possibly get it. Ok I guess I'll do selfdestruct too... Selfdestruct is learned by Geodude, Voltorb, Koffing, and Pineco. Thus Mineral, Amorphous, and Bug egg groups (plus Field for Smeargle). Wailmer is needed as a bridge to pass it into the Water 2 egg group (Quilfish). Seedot is needed to pass it into the Grass egg group (Exeggcute). Shellder is in the Water 3 egg group. There is no bridge to this with Selfdestruct. Self destruct:Qwilfish, Exeggcute, Exeggutor, Shellder, Cloyster, Lunatone. Lunatone is in the mineral group. It can learn it. (Also there is no bridge to the monster group. No selfdestructing snorlaxes possible) Oh give me more egg chain questions.
  7. I have to download this when I get home... Hell I'm going home right now so I can download this! Quick question though: will this work with the updated graphics patch or will I have to swap fire red roms? EDIT: Patch moemon first, then updated graphics. Read self, READ Also, not a big fan of Sneasel. I do love the mini sprites in the party, that is a really nice touch, and I LOVE my Kingdra's new look (despite it being a boy), but I encountered a Sneasel while looking for stuff and it was just.... Well it could use some simplifying. Its got a lot of details that just doesnt make it look right. Its not very cute, nor cool. Just seems messy imo. Other than that this makes looking for pokemon much more entertaining.
  8. Yea I figured out my problem and I feel like a retard. Change desktop theme to default and disable windows aero. It will make your windows look lame, but hey the calculator will work.
  9. That would be very fun, though I would suggest only going in with a good friend. HOWEVER I could see this abused. One person goes in with level 100s and brings their level 20-ish friend. Powerlevel gogogo! Make it so the players would have to go in within level range of each other, and the dungeon levels are within that range. As for the rewards, do both players get the same rewards to prevent fights, or something else? Maybe loot rolling or "pick one of two items" and the other player gets the other one (then trade who picks first)? Same with captures in terms of legendaries. I honestly dont like that idea since players would just farm legends together (inb4CD). A boss trainer would be cool, then a bag of items/money. Shiny encounter? I would hate to see one shiny pop up and well, a giant fight breaks out. Whoever captures it VS whoever KOs it to troll the other player. This is easily a make or break deal for players. If something too rare pops up, only one player gets it. If it becomes too easy to get said rare items, the market crashes. I'm gonna have to say... Great idea, but too much opportunity for players to abuse it.

    PokeNotes

I would love something like this. For now I just have the auto-IV calculator being used as a sorting box, but then I gotta match the nature/level to the pokemon. I would hate to get to the point where I have the same nature/levels on pokemon, which should be later tonight since I'll be breeding like CRAZY. Until something like this is put in I'll have to keep with keeping everything in order in the pc, then having a notepad with everything in the same order but containing all the notes. There's another window open while I play :(
  11. I'm in the same boat too. People online who had it working were less than helpful, just telling me to reinstall. I've reinstalled everything from pokemmo to java itself. It will flip through the tabs, but wont click. The calculator wont even say finished, it just keeps saying "ready" in that little corner like it got no input. And yes, I even changed the click delay to see if that would work since it appeared like its clicks were not registering. Its clicking, its moving things, but as far as I can tell it simply wont scan.

    Non NPC Rival

You could always get your friends together to do this on your own. Chat over skype and have a specific character each that you're allowed to play when each other is on (or agree that neither can get too far and you have to report levels of your team). That way you have a rival that is around your level and not going to get too far ahead, but its going to require teamwork. Server side it would be near impossible to try and keep everyone on the same stage of the game. It cant just lock your level after you get so far above your rival or prevent you from moving too far ahead. Just communicate with the "rival" player and do a sort of dual run. Maybe take on gyms at around the same time and then battle each other to see which one is stronger at the time after you get a new badge. The gyms themselves would be a good limit to how high your rival's team is going to be, unless one of you has a thing for grinding.
  13. I don't care what the others said, looks great for a budding artist! Keep up the work and you'll only get better. Work on anatomy a bit perhaps. I honestly tend to go off of what my favorite artists do and take on some of their style. Eventually you just learn that there is a certain beauty in simplicity. The only thing I can see wrong is that you ditched your starter T.T I would love to see you do more, but that could just be me addicted to nuzlocke comics and pokemon comic runs in general.
