The way I understand it, the NPC channel is optional; you go there to fight people and have your path blocked. I would assume you could switch back to a regular channel at any time. The channel wouldn't be used for storyline progression, but random duels instead. If you really wanted to progress in the channel and someone was blocking your path, you could always change channels, walk past him, then change back. Edit: Just to clarify: this is a semi-big implementation, one that, if it was ever considered, would not rank high on the need-to-do priority list. An original suggestion nonetheless.

That's not what this thread was about. Before this was fixed, the battle window would automatically be brought in front of the chat window during an encounter. This would result in your typing being cut off midsentence to choose your battle command, which was a huge annoyance for those who were active in chat while grinding.

The tournament today was unofficial, and while some staff were apart of organizing it, it is essentially player based. Perhaps when official tournaments start happening, we will see some sort of integration or notifications.

Naw. Would be way to easy to get in an MMO.. as soon as one or two people had it, everyone would. I believe there will be weekend events or something where pokerus becomes available for a limited amount of time, so everyone scrambles to get their hands on it and use it to their advantage.
