    Unironically a good shout.

I mainly play NU on the side and I have always been somewhat curious about how Gallade's inclusion in current NU would shake up a few things. So, I wouldn't necessarily mind that.

Although, when it comes to the topic of Sharpness on Gallade, I still find it odd that the reversion back to 1.5 Sharpness in a metagame where DM drei was deemed to be too overbearing, might have been an oversight by the devs.

Before it got sharpness it was one of the few fighting types that could compete with Blaziken in the tier.

Yes, it's currently BL2 and in my opinion would still be too strong for the meta.

As someone that thinks NU is better than sliced bread I feel like most of the BL2 mons are a lot for the tier. Vaporeon and Rhyperior are about the only 2 I could see in it. Maybe Nidoqueen in a test but it would be so wildly diverse in the tier.

Is it possible to have a rough estimate of what TC intends to do with Dugtrio? Will this thread stay open for days, weeks, months or years? Is there an ongoing vote or an upcoming vote?

If Dugtrio ends up banworthy, what are devs intending to do in order to remove Dugtrio from Uber? I think many of us fear another Sharpness fiasco and the community input would be valuable imo.

Hopefully they follow recent precedent and just ban it in singles.

I'm curious about the idea that it's reserved exclusively for Pokémon that need to be banned from OU. It seems like if such a rule exists, there might be instances where it's not strictly followed. I've noticed some situations where the same individuals involved in creating these rules sometimes seem to deviate from them. It could be interesting to explore how these rules are applied consistently. "Coughs in Gallade and Shaymin"

Should just bring back banning stuff to Ubers instead of trying to fix it.

ban the move, maybe. Qwil really do nothing in upper tier

Why would you ban the move? It would just become NUBL. Otherwise we could have what ever pokemon we wanted in any tier if we banned enough moves.

There are options for switch ins against a +2 qwilfish with Quagsire, defensive Qwilfish, haze Golbat ( no rocks of course ). It's also easily revenge killed by a number of special attackers due to its poor special bulk.

Theres an off meta option with Eviolite Metang.

Not justifying it just adding other possible options.

Edit: Also forgot about Ferroseed which would be able to take some pretty serious hits from Qwil and retaliate with a mix of leech seed, gyro ball, and iron barbs.

  6. Can the lower tiers please get some changes to their rewards? getting around 300 wins for a hat sure. However NU and UU both had less than 10,000 matches in December and November. Now sure you can blame the holidays but there's also months well before them that NU is still below 10,000 and UU is passing that by much.

Playing unpopular tiers is a choice but not one some of your player base should be punished for.

I was curious if there were any discussions regarding adding potential Gen 6-9 PvP items to the meta game. Orange had a post a few months back that outlined some items that could be added to improve the overall meta game - which could potentially benefit both the singles tiers and doubles tier. I was hoping that this could be potentially brought up as a topic of discussion again. (To be clear, I'm not asking for Heavy Duty Boots nor do I think they should be added to the game.)

ETA: I was also curious if/when potential movepool updates from the Gen 9 SV Indigo Disk DLC would be added into MMO.

    Loaded dice when?

While this is true, it doesn't change the fact that Moody clause still exists in current gen as the ability is completely uncompetitive (because the outcome is random).

Speaking of this can we ban acupressure? Lost a ranked match the other day because someone's first 3 uses raised evasion. Might not be as strong as moody with it's inherent boosts but I still has no place in a competitive environment.

I like that people worry more about moltres introduction than Zapdos which will be standard in OU if it ends up coming

Everyone knows whats going to happen with Zapdos. Moltres is potentially more interesting where it ends up personally. Sun is very popular in UU right now and may see some use there (Charizards similar typing, movepool, and ability say otherwise though) or it could be a fun strong wall breaker in NU with heavy flaws.

I'm also very biased in the case of lower tiers.

  10. With the chance of Moltres being introduced next month is the TC opposed to it being immediately put into NU? While it does have a good offensive typing it's also Moltres' biggest weakness. The tier has powerful offensive water types (Azumarill/Blastoise/sharpedo) with priority or out speed as well as bulky water types (Mantine/Milotic/slowking) that can switch in. Hurricane does do high damage with specs but then its locked into a low accuracy move with bulky rock and steel types like steelix and bronzor in the tier. Life orb roost sets might be popular but then it loses its wall breaking potential. Mixed with a 4x weakness to rock you really have to give it all of the support it can get for effectiveness.

Rhyperior would be fine for NU

Could be worth a try. While it does have amazing wall breaking potential its speed really hurts it and the tier is filled with bulky water types now that can take a hit then retaliate. Even then I don't feel its potential is very different if at all between NU and UU. Rhyperior is also revenge killed by a lot of pokemon already in the tier and most (houndoom as example) already use hidden power grass for the plethora of water types.

    0 SpA Milotic Scald vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Solid Rock Rhyperior: 219-261 (114.6 - 136.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

    0 SpA Blastoise Scald vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Solid Rock Rhyperior: 192-228 (100.5 - 119.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Life Orb Houndoom Hidden Power Grass vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Solid Rock Rhyperior: 195-230 (102 - 120.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Even going harder into bulk with assault vest it still gets 2hko by water and grass moves as well as being even slower than the aforementioned choice band set. The set also loses a significant amount of power and the amount of mons it 2 shots dwindles down.

    0 SpA Quagsire Scald vs. 4 HP / 252 SpD Assault Vest Solid Rock Rhyperior: 75-90 (39.2 - 47.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

    252+ Atk Rhyperior Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 79-94 (39.1 - 46.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

even a low special attack wall like quagsire can switch in, heal, and win the 1v1.

The only downside I see is if you don't properly play around the choice band set it may punch to many holes in a team just on its own.

252+ Atk Choice Band Rhyperior Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 118-141 (58.4 - 69.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252+ Atk Choice Band Rhyperior Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Milotic: 124-147 (61.3 - 72.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

    252+ Atk Choice Band Rhyperior Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Blastoise: 108-127 (58 - 68.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

    252+ Atk Choice Band Rhyperior Megahorn vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Tangrowth: 148-176 (71.8 - 85.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

252+ Atk Choice Band Rhyperior Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 102-120 (50.4 - 59.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Edit: How are Braviary and Audino not moving up??

NU has had no balance changes for 2 months, and it seems like it will take up to 3 months with the same situation. They should at least consider reducing Zoroark or even Blaziken, which is missing in the tier.

Blaziken and Zoroark haven't dropped down due to usage in UU. It's nice to finally not have constant rubber banding in NU @gbwead.

Machamp should be removed from the BL2 list. It's still UU by usage, but if it ever falls to NU, it doesn't look broken at all. Machamp would certainly be strong in NU, but still manageable with stuff like Golbat and Slowbro around.

Slowbro seems like a solid counter but I dont feel Golbat is as consistent.

    252 Atk Guts Machamp Thunder Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Golbat: 78-92 (42.8 - 50.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

I'm not against testing some of the banned mons in NU though. Electrode was kept from the tier for a while because there was fear it would be to strong and hasnt been an issue.

I’m really excited to see Fairy type changing the meta 😁

So Togetic/togekiss, granbull, gardevoir, mawile, whimsicott, mr. Mime and azumarill are about it right?

Azumarill and togekiss are definite moves to OU. Granbull, Mawile, and Gardevoir would be fun additions to the lower tiers.

Not sure how great mime and whimsicott do.

    Entei will go nu, yes!

Maybe not. Arcanine could be the one pushed out. Arcs most used set is choice band and Entei competes against it pretty hard. The biggest differences between the two is Arc has close combat and a better defensive movepool. Entei has higher attack, speed, and bulk.
