  1. The goal of breeding is being changed from a cloning to a refinement mechanism.

    Refinement where you put time and resources into making something better, instead of just time.

    I'm sure you've played other MMO's with refinement mechanisms. Things like enchantment which take resources for the possibility of making an item better.

    in others games you have your character and the items. in pokemon, your pokemons are your character.
    allowing the ppl to get easy all 31s pokes low the price of the pokes in the market so new players can acces to good comps and you eliminate the differences between.  
    Then the market is centralized on items and shinys, just like it is in anothers MMO (items + fashion).
    the point is to do that the "character" isnt a value item.
    economy is good in MMO, but not a central line. the central line in pokemon is competition and strategy between players.

    this is not World of warcraft, Lineage and that shit.

    if you repeat that one hundred times maybe i start to believe it. maybe no.

  4. maybe, a better way of balance it would be to give better chances of inheritance of IVs coming from wild parents and a lower chance coming from hatched parents.
    any ways, i dont think that breed is a problem, it represents a lot of work and time; and a reward only if you get something tradeable. 

    the great chance of obtain a good comp via teammates reduces the price of the market too, you cant ingnore that.

  7. There is no questioning that EVing sucks, but most of the ideas listed in that thread are band-aids to the core system of "hit pokemans ding your numbers up" in the form of "ding your numbers up faster".

     

    I haven't given EVs much thought for a while, but in cases like these I prefer binning the vanilla system. (i.e. Instead of trying to make your numbers go up faster during a boring task, make the task interesting.) I'm not sure how we can do this though; Because this system is based around progression of pokemen and because this is used as a difficulty system in later portions of the game, it needs to be an accessible task to new players with a crap party (which, hey, turns out grinding satisfies).

     

    I'll probably give this one some more thought after we deal with the initial Hoenn, but this problem may require band-aids instead of an entire rework. If you guys have any ideas for a non-grinding-based progression system which is accessible to new players, feel free to pitch them.

    can we use the minigames of second island like an ev training system (like in XY but using the minigames that already are in the game code). so it is no grinding but funnier.

    An option, an useful support that can limit the lifespan of many stallers, restalk users and that. intimidate help it to come in, and the no use of direct damage attacks allows to split evs in durability, something that mightyena lacks. some EVs in speed can help too.

Im agree. im a NU player, and too many of the pokes in the tier cant do much without baton pass, receiving or giving buff. i play many times only for fun, and when i want to use the old team with my baton passer, im limited for a ban. i cant try in normal mode because the level of my pokes isnt exactly 50.

    So, this clause would give us a little of freedom in unofficial duels.

  13. are they even capable of creating map data that overrides the roms' map data, without touching the roms themselves?

    its a good question... they can add pokes following us, they can add a snorlax in Trainer Tower entrance... they can transform our follower pokes into bidoof, groudon , rayquaza and kyogre, so maybe they can add a build there.
