  7. Non mega sableye stall teams are still around, but now they run 2-3 defoggers. The one I'm thinking of had defog mega zard+defog gliscor+defog skarm, although I think zard dropped defog in later iterations of the team. Zapdos is another good choice for a defog combo.
  8. won in a close match, gg http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7lc-704636331 lets get it apes!
  9. Gigalith didn't have sand stream in gen 5, a gen 7 addition. It does appear that they banned weather in UU, but I think it's more because weather setters were less common in play, so if you brought a hippo into battle and your opponent didn't have any other weather setter (aka vulpix / snover), then your stoutland etc would be at an advantage the entire match. This is just speculation though on the reason why, I can't seem to find any threads specifically where they banned weather (except for a snow warning thread). As for our meta, I'm gonna go ahead and say no. Sand veil is really not that overpowered, especially when it's only lasting about 3 turns. Realistically a sand veil user needs to run substitute+a set up move to potentially take advantage of misses, and even then, it's not a guaranteed chance you got a free turn due to a miss.
  10. Sand is totally legal in gen 7. In gen 5 UU, the only sand setter was hippopotas, which I'm going to guess isn't really a top tier mon with its impressive 330 BST. I don't think there are any actual bans on weather in gen 5 UU from what I can tell actually. Weather is just generally not a thing because every weather setter is in OU besides vulpix / snover / hippopotas, which are really terrible outside of the super niche weather setting that they provide. In a meta where weather only lasts 5-8 turns (well only 5 right now), it's not really problematic at all.

  16. About a week ago, managers/small council were discussing this and I came up with some solution to it, although it adds layers of complication that the simple minded PSL playerbase won't be able to handle, so the idea was essentially scrapped. I wrote up a general guide to it (it's pretty simple) when we discussed it before. https://pastebin.com/RT1BtXDN Previously, we only discussed it in the context of revealing items, but you could also just unload a showdown style teambuild with moves etc, if it was deemed necessary.
  17. Me vs Senile some time after 4 pm EST on Friday
  18. IGN: BurntZebra Timezone: EST Fluff: I don't really play the game, so I'll need comps from someone to play pokemmo tiers. I can still play any showdown tier though. I'm also a part of the small-medium council, so I can totally be biased for your team. Most Preferred Manager: any of the 6 managers that was on my top 8 list Least Preferred Manager: no one, I love you all
  19. We've discussed this in the past internally within the Tier Council and it almost always boiled down to "We could, but it makes everything less enjoyable". Yeah they're generally inferior to other items and totally RNG based, with no control to the player. Bright powder/quick claw/focus band just add an element to the game that really isn't necessary. Thankfully we don't have baton pass, so there are no shenanigans like quick claw spore smeargle or bright powder sub ninjask. As for the level ban, I would like to see level 1 pokemon allowed, as they can be surprisingly viable like a suicide pineco lead, etc. There are also more options now due to focus sash being implemented some time in the future and custap berry for sturdy mons. Obviously having some random storyline players entering tournaments isn't ideal, but that's a pretty small issue, since it would require someone to not have beaten the E4 (after E4, your pokemon are probably close to 50 at least), to be aware that tournaments exist and think they have an actual chance to win, and actually sign up quickly enough to get a spot.
  20. Maybe because no one good plays randoms
  21. That's not really true in theory. With showdown, you are not limited by resources/building comps, so all of your time investment goes into scouting, teambuilding, and testing, which is much easier to do with a huge playerbase for SM OU. I guess the fault of the showdown tiers in PSL used to lie in the fact that they were a target for the inactive players who were not willing to make new comps for MMO, so they just settled for showdown tiers. But now, I feel that the showdown tiers have a broader appeal to the general playerbase, as we gain new pokemon and new mechanics, the gap between PokeMMO and certain showdown tiers is less than before, and learning how to play gen 4-7 on showdown will broaden your knowledge and teambuilding for MMO.
