A good way of learning some strats is to just spectate players and see what they use / do. that's how i learned last time. in any case, i was wondering if anyone tried using Reactive gas Weezing, does it prevent Pumpking's abilities?

Great suggestion, upvoted. personally i would love to also see the Catch rate displayed on the pokedex, it's one of the things i check most often on Bulbapedia

Speaking about Shuckle, i found that this set with Power Split have the Ivs and Evs to 31 and 85 respectively in both attacks. I don't know if it is intentional but it should be 0 Ivs and Evs to maximise the effect of Power Split (I don't think the damage difference of wrap will be noteworthy lol)

There is actually one way, somewhat. In the battle log chat it will say if the ability has activated. edit: Nevermind, misread the OP, ignore this.
