I think the two of you might have misunderstood me. The Ch'Ding was just an example.
My suggestion was to change the default names: Gyarados instead of GYARADOS - Poochyena instead of POOCHYENA
I know that it is possible to change names, but I was talking about the default ones.

Wouldn't it be nice if CH'DING were named Ch'Ding. It is only a small change but in my opinion well worth it.

[Colourful Speech Bubbles]

Considering that the majority of players talk through channel/global/whisper, not many people would be able to see your speech bubble. Regardless, it's a pretty fun idea.

Probably, but I think the speech bubbles are a nice feature which fits this MMO. Following your reasoning it seems like there are two options: Remove speech bubbles or making them more attractive.
I too mostly use the chat window - but when I see a bubble pop up near me I have to see what's written in it. :)

 

Considering the suggestion... like, will people be able to alter the colour as they please or mandatory?

At first the colours should be derived from the chat (like orange for shouts and blue for global).

Those 25 posts took me a whole year - so here's my idea:

The different kinds of chat have different colours. Would it be possible to tint the speech bubbles accordingly?
It doesn't have to be the exact same colour (would be difficult to read). A lighter version would be fine.
