    I disagree, I have never seen a match where I thought, fuck me, I lost because he used Explosion/Self-Destruct. In singles, it's not like we have choice scarf users or even fast pokemon with incredibly high attack (like gengar doesn't even ko blissey/lax) to "abuse" explosion/self-destruct. And in doubles, explosion keeps the game fast pace and explosive. Every pokemon has protect. Get good. Stop trying to compare this meta to gen 6, it's incredibly different. We don't have 600 pokemon to choose from and any of the items.
