Your precious Wobbuffet will have to fight another day! But she is quite beautiful.

  2. Wow Kearsten! Such a fantastic event! Thank you, and I will be sure to be attending this lovely affair. (●♡∀♡)

Thanks Barrage, that's kind of you.

I have 2 questions, sorry if they have been already answered, but right now my mind is a little fucked..

    1) Will we know the name of our partner before the event start, or will ee know it just before battling? ( i personally think it would be better knowing it a little early, this is not just a 6vs6 OU tourney, just like the Dynimic Due there can be strategies involving both the players and such )?

    2) Scenario

    Player 1 and 2
    Against
    Player A and B

Player 1 defeat player A with 3 pokes left
Player 2 last pokemon is Gengar, player B last pokemon is Snorlax

Gengar uses D.Bond, Snorlax Shadow Ball, both are KO

According to the Self KO clause player 2 should lose, but player B will end up without pokes to battle player 1...what would happen in that case?

Anyway, really interesting event, i really liked the Dynimic Duo, and this one seems really good too :)

PS, for the winner a sign like this would be totally amazing "Player 1 Official Team Rocket Grunt"

I would like to be able to do that but in the case that someone doesn't show up, I'll have to put in reserves into the bracket and randomize again to make sure the slots are filled. s: But I will put up the completed bracket once it's final! ~ Hopefully it doesn't have to change.
That is a really interesting question and in the case that does happen, I'll talk it over with my refs and we'll try to come up with a fair approach to that scenario.
And hahaha, yes, that would be very awesome, I'll look into that!
  3. I guess personally I just don't enjoy events with any possible exploits, it was something I always avoided. It is not a matter of trusting the community or not it's a matter of professionalism (imo). I understand the pros of this event set up and I am sure people will enjoy it. Nonetheless, it's not up to my standards. The host can do what she wishes of course and I respect that.

I am sure all of the people in this thread stating they're stoked about it will be there to attend and enjoy!

    Thanks Emlee! Much appreciated!!

Oh and everyone else who is planning to attend, I'm looking forward to having you there!

  4. So the reason you're disallowing people to pick their partners is because you don't want people who are strong competitively to pair up? As mentioned RNG does mean two people who do well competitively have a chance to pair up regardless (so you're not avoiding it completely), and also that if someone ends up carrying their partner to the end they are being handed the shiny for free basically. In my opinion you should have two people at the end who deserve it, and the final battle should be interesting (as opposed to one person easily winning the shiny).

I think allowing people to pick their partners is pretty exciting for the players, and it's also a nice sense of community. It will be very disappointing for entrants to be paired with an individual they 1) don't know 2) is on a different competitive level 3) doesn't communicate well in the same language or 4) with whom they do not get along with. I understand all of these may not apply, and may not be a huge issue, but I still think that allowing players to pick their partners is a very positive thing and much better than what random pairings bring to the table. I cannot see a legitimate downside to allowing it, so please let me know if I have overlooked something.

Just my feedback, please don't dismiss it with a "you can go play another tournament if you don't like it". Yes that is true but why not review feedback and see how it can improve your event to target more people's interests as opposed to dismissing it.

Also this isn't about whining, this is about voicing your opinion. Feedback is a useful thing, and I don't lump it in with whining. To me whining is demanding something without explaining why you prefer what you're asking for.

Good luck with your first time as an event host.

I appreciate your input but I decided on these rules and I'm sticking to them. ^_^; Some will like it, some won't, though we're used to this in most tournaments we hold. I wanted to try something a little more risky and that's what this will be based on.

    And thanks!

Also remember it is the first tournament with these rules, if it doesn't go well, it most likely won't show its face in the official tournies again. It doesn't hurt to expand and get people out of their comfortable zones once in a while as I'm doing here.

  5. great players will still pair up and have a huge advantage. just through RNG instead of choice and fewer of them will giving the few a even better advantage.

And great players will still have a chance of being paired with someone not as successful in tournaments as they are. There will be challenges and matches in general can be won based off solely RNG.

  6. This doesn't make much sense. You should be able to pick your own partner. Being paired with someone random is just disappointing. Also, that means that whoever randomly gets paired with a very strong player, or just a lucky pair of two strong players, will smash teams where other strong players are being brought down by a weaker player. Just seems like it is a bit flawed, but perhaps the intention is to give a chance to players who may not have someone to pair themselves with. I also think it is more dramatic and fitting if you have to fight your friend as opposed to a random pair for the finale.

I see your concern and I've had this brought up, but I appreciate your input. This is a new idea, that some are for and some are not. If people don't want to participate they don't have to, there are other tournaments that may peek their interest coming up in December.

  7. what if i get assigned a partner that i hate? what if my partner DC's or gets DQ'd?

Unfortunately that would mean you have to win both matches on your own since it would count as a win to the other side. In the condition of a DC of your partner, I will allow the other member to heal before they face off against the other person. DC's can happen in any other tournament though so it's not entirely a unheard of thing.

And if you hate your partner, just remember you get the chance of fighting them at the end if you make it to the finals and win.

  8. Nono, you do not have to leave your current team. I will be randomizing for people to join a temporary partnership for the tournament. So you will be matched up with someone random! There will be only 1 first place winner, as this is what happens at the end:

    - The team to make it and win the finals will be turning on one another and facing off for the last final battle!

And no, the team who wins the finals will be allowed to go heal before they fight off against one another.

  10. Alright, teleport and thunder fist/punch will not go over onto Jynx through breeding. Teleport is only a TM move in Gen 1 so it cannot be passed via breeding. The only punch moves that can be bred or passed on to Jynx through breeding is focus/mega/dynamic/ice punch.

You will need to unlock the other flags to get your egg to hatch. So focus on the natures/species flags.

  11. Firstly, what kind of egg is it and what are the moves you are using on the father/mother to get it to learn.

Secondly, has the egg verified when you look in its moves summary that it has learned the four moves or do some of them appear as questions marks?

Do you know which flags have been confirmed set besides the moves? Nature, species, ability?
