  1. To be completely frank here, no one is entitled to a spot on the bracket just because they spent weeks preparing for an event. Even under the current system no one is guaranteed a spot on the bracket. It all depends on how quickly the bracket fills up. Not to mention that I don't necessarily see it as a bad thing is random players get into an official tournament. I don't understand how the competitive community sees this as a bad thing. We host official tournaments that are open for anyone to sign up, and forum banned users can always ask a friend to sign them up. This isn't some exclusive club that players should have to register for. So you spend three weeks preparing for a Little Cup event to get "crowded out" by a random player. How is that such a big deal?

I think you extremely underestimate te time invested in makeing a littlecup team. I think it is a fair point that gimmicky tournaments (like littlecup or the fight before christmas like today) have signups longtime in advance so you know that you are ensured a spot, because it would really suck to have spent multiple hours doing hte last few weeks to make a team and then not even make it into the bracket... I don't see this signupmethod working for gimmick-tournaments like that.

That being said, I see no problem in this signupmetod for standardtournaments like OU/UU/NU, in general people have comps for these allready. Some might want to make a new team specifically for these but it is not a must like in the gmmicks and you can always use the comp in the next tournament, unlike the tournaments that only come once a year. Apart from the few minutes gained due to the rolecall being shorter that are easily overshadowed by the fact that you have to be there an hour before, I think this signup method could help those who would else not have ome due to being low down on the reserve. I think 5 of the last 6 tournaments I've showed up to I signed up in last minute and still got in even though the list of reserves was long. Some of this is probably because people, like Jonas said, just signup without knowing wether they will actually show, and some of the reserves not coming because they are so far down on the list that they don't tink that they will make it into the bracket. I think this signup method might help (not at all sure) but I think it's a good idea to test it again, but it dosn't fit for gimmicktournaments where you make a specific team just for that single tournament.
  2. With this, registrations are closed.

    See you in an hour.

The event will take place on channel 7 in various locations, so the rolecall will be on Channel Chat.

You can start catching pokemon after the rolecall ends, and not at 8pm immediately.

Whisper me if you have any questions.

Make sure everyone from your team is still available. If not, try to find a substitute asap.

We are allowed to be anywhere on the map when it starts right?

  3. No more NU Doubles? Then how you can call it pokedaily?

^ Most random tier ever. I was so rediculusly bad (in that tier) that Greck did much better than me when 5/6 of the pokes he used were mine. ^-D

  4. We opted out of doubles solely to fit the masters invitational format we have.
We agreed someone who won a doubles tourney should not receive a masters invite that will be held in singles format.

Th original Pokedaily masters had a single bracket and a lower bracket with doubbles, this was changed though because of some bugs that accured in doubbles. You culd make it this format and then play some doubbles anyway. Personally I'm probably not really going to participate (though I like the intiative) but something I personally loved about Pokedaily was that I could play different tiers everyday as I had most fun playing different metas.

  5. [PoAu] Pokemon Aura will be given the opportunity to defend their title from April. They have earned a registration slot.

You realize you guys have an automatic entry, xP

"Registration slot". I understand that more like: "even if we sign up later than the others we will get in the bracket", but you might be right. I think i is a little odd if we are automatcally signed up, though the chance that we would come is pretty big offcourse.
