  1. Emlee is on the prowl. I think she mistakenly deleted my post, or I didn't actually write it. This may seem like a joke post, but it's pretty legitimate. It provides a fun, somewhat addicting, way of hatching your eggs without doing the insanely tedious biking. It's somewhat automatic but will always benefit from having someone actively applying heat. (Unlike the cookie version, clicking would be exponentially better than the automatic stuff) This allows players to leave the eggs alone to enjoy other aspects of the game, or just try and get the highest BTU/s to get the most efficient eggs. Obviously the picture is an oversimplification - we can't just steal the system from the cookie game.

  4. There's also the eventual implementation of Power accessories for the Male to hold. Also, if I ever get my way with anything in this Gods dammed game, the Male will be able to use the Everstone as well to balance the gender strengths. Darkshade (and possibly other staff members) seem to think that currently the Male and Female are balanced in the breeding equation. I postulate that the Male is often completely ignored when hunting because of Species inheritance and, on the contrary, the Female is often ignored when hunting because of Move Inheritance. The imbalance comes in with nature, because every male passed the first few generations will have the required Egg Moves, while the Females will often be tossed out for not having the right nature. Balancing this would improve the system, albeit making things a little simpler.
  5. This is very redundant in regards to Prizes PvP Rating System It also gives staff one more thing to manage, and by staff I mean the Devs. The Devs have enough to do. This would have to be automated to be used in even a medium-sized scale and if they're going to do all that work, they may as well use the better systems mentioned above. Not to mention how easily abused this is because matchmaking is not popular enough to be random at all times of the day.

  7. Kyu is wrong. The Daycare receives 60% of total battle experience. I'm 70% sure. (Keep in mind, I'm not talking about the DC Pokemon holding the egg, but rather the Pokemon involved in the battle.) Kyu is kawaii and never wrong. Even if two Amnesia Braces were allowed/able to be used for breeding, I would think the Everstone is far too powerful to ignore even for an extra egg. That would seem like more eggs to hatch that you know are going to suck. Of course, there are stages of the overall breeding process that I don't bring an Everstone into, namely the first handful of generations. However, this topic is specifically because people are worried about over-leveling their competitors, which, if they are actually competitors, should have a usable nature - which would imply the use of an Everstone. If they want to ignore the stone and use an extra Amnesia Brace - haha more bikemmo for you fgt.
  8. I don't think Breeding is as much of a timesink as people say it is, and I'm sure I've put out more eggs than the majority of the playerbase. The real problem exists with the tedious hatching mechanics. They take away from the game without adding anything at all. They simply deter you from doing more productive things. It's very counter-intuitive with the 'direction' of the game once mentioned by Kyu when people asked about the Elite Four cooldown and he answered with "We want the community to do different things and not just farm the E4 all day." (Paraphrased) The hatching mechanics do not slow down breeding at all (because even the longest hatch will only net you three more eggs, giving you a 20 minute window before you'd need to hatch again.) They're not 'fun' in the least bit and they're insanely detrimental to gameplay and, much more importantly, the morale of the community. On topic: A lot of the egg moves already are Move Tutors and adding any non-canon Egg Moves seems like an 'easier' alternative to breeding, which is something the devs simply won't agree to do. Furthermore, it creates opportunities for certain fully evolved Pokemon to gain moves than their NFE forms can't learn via breeding.
  9. I'd hope our PokeGear is more than just a phone. I'm hanging on to the fantasy of having the DPPt Poketch in PokeMMO. It has the best features of any of the PokeGear throughout the generations and a lot of the applications can be customized to fit PokeMMO. Not to mention some of the apps fit into PokeMMO more than they did in DPPt, like the Stopwatch and the Daycare monitor.
  10. People are overreacting way too much in this thread. Xela, I have to disagree with most of your points. This suggest is feasible and doesn't require much. It's not even that much of a convenience because most people don't have two amnesia braces. The line will be drawn simply there. Lucky Eggs already affect the Daycare experience gain. Someone suggesting to add the ability for the Daycare 'mon to utilize the LE's are bad at math because 100xp * 1.5 LE * .6 DC = 100xp * .6 DC * 1.5 LE and the latter requires two Lucky Eggs. The Macho Brace isn't even a question, because EVs aren't even in the equation when we're talking about the Daycare. You also just mentioned the 1-2 egg increase advantage that a player who donated would have over someone who hasn't and has to do this manually. I'd like to point out donator status here, which saves a donator time when leveling a Pokemon by boosting experience gain. It's not a competitive advantage, but it does help you progress through the game faster. Both effects are similar so I don't see the issue. Honestly, I don't have the slightest problem personally with the Daycare giving experience. The rare times I've used a competitor for breeding didn't give me much trouble with doing it manually. Sure I lost an egg and having an Amnesia Brace would've been neat, but I would never opt that over an Everstone. What's the point of getting that 1-2 eggs if it's going to be a toss out anyway. The real trouble I have is using the baby Pokemon which have significantly better IVs than the parents (which is the entire point) and having to worry about them gaining 10 levels at a time and losing their valuable Egg Moves. Of course, the red font in my signature already expresses that opinion.
  11. I think this affects competitive games too much. I never liked that people would share Pokemon in a tournament. I actually enjoy the issues Return brings. There is, of course, the trading aspect. I don't see how that can hinder the value of Pokemon especially with the current breeding mechanics. We're constantly biking and I've raised all my Return comps from a disgustingly low happiness to 100% before even finishing one hatch. I don't see Frustration ever replacing Return because steps affect Happiness.

  14. This kind of idea isn't at all original. You should flesh it out and make sure its balanced.
  15. I'm sure hosting is overwhelming. But reffing? What about announcers? My only qualm with having the player-base do it is that it'd have to be done with a small group of players because there's usually more than one match at a time. That'd be fixed by having each individual ref having a notepad or similar application running so they can tally each Pokemon in their respective matches. It's not like clauses are that hard to spot or it takes very much effort. However, enforcing it would be silly. I can get behind/involved with a group that wants to do this.
  16. I don't know which staff member you spoke to, but changing pointers is very little work and if the sprites already existed it wouldn't even be a question of time waste. However, I'm not one for aesthetics over gameplay, so by all means let's bury this and come back at another time.
  17. It's not nonsensical and the change to Taunt had little to do with the new 100 Pokemon or the new abilities. It was simply because Gen IV Taunt was bogus and needed a small nerf.

  21. I was actually thinking different styles for different groups, but colors works and would be a lot less work.
