  1. If you mean this screen - You can change the background by going to: PokeMMO\data\themes\res (in the theme you are currently using) then locating bg.png You can swap this with your own background image. Hope this helps!
  2. There isn't - unfortunately. You could breed them, which would lower them back to Lv. 1. But other than that; nope.
  3. Hi there, Welcome to PokeMMO, I hope you enjoy your stay in our little community.
  4. When you take them out of the PC Box they will update to your new trainer name. However, with bred Pokemon, it retains the original nickname as OT, at least for me.
  5. You can use any pokemon in any region. Think of it as more of an openworld experience.
  6. This is not possible. You are using the original ROMs to play PokeMMO.
  7. Also - this is my mistake since I am used to Linux command-lines but I believe the directory's are actually cd Dektop/PokeMMO-Client With a "/" rather than a "\"
  8. Try sudo sh and then do the same. You need to run with superuser. Or - sudo chmod 755 PokeMMO.sh then run sh and drag the PokeMMO.sh file from the PokeMMO-Client file into the terminal. If this doesn't work your permissions are, well, screwed - I could only advise you contact support at that point or try and research fixing permissions for your Mac OS version.
  9. You can also try dragging the "PokeMMO-Client" directly into the terminal window and then executing sh PokeMMO.sh Or just type sh in terminal then drag the actual executable "PokeMMO.sh" from the client folder in there, that should also work.
  10. Register here - https://pokemmo.eu/account/ Then login to support using the credentials for the account you just made.
  11. Thread Locked, congratulations to the winners.
  12. Make sure when you are using Terminal that you are not inputting the $ (that's a prefix) and also that the line cd Desktop\PokeMMO matches your installation location for the Portable Client you downloaded. In regards to support - the Support site is linked to your in-game account credentials and not the forum credentials. If you are having trouble logging-in you can simply go in-game and click "Support Request" in the bottom-right menu while in-game to automatically login. Hope this helps.
  13. Download via - https://pokemmo.eu/downloads/portable/ This is a portable client, without an installer so it works on any OS. Open Terminal -> cd to your PokeMMO directory e.g: $ cd desktop\PokeMMO $ sh PokeMMO.sh Keep in mind if you are working an M1 Mac these aren't officially supported by PokeMMO - People have said they have got their M1's to work with this method, however. If that doesn't work contact support - https://support.pokemmo.eu/login/ Good luck!
  14. The hint is in the title of the thread. "Concept."
  15. The game operates in a legally grey area. The user is providing the ROM's and therefore the user is providing the copyrighted material. Everything PokeMMO provides is their own work and isn't copyright infringement. As for the cease and desist - not sure on the accuracy of that however it's possible considering PokeMMO doesn't break any laws.
  16. This is super-cool but currently PokeMMO avoids legal issues by having the user provide the base ROM's of the game, flipping the assets in an engine like Unreal would pretty much just be using copyrighted material to make a game. But hey, you never know.
  17. Download and install JDK 11 - https://adoptopenjdk.net/ Restart your computer and launch the game.
  18. You can try looking around in the .XML files under themes. However I doubt this is possible.
  19. As someone with no OTs. I take offence to this. :(
  20. From the images it looks like you are playing on a low resolution. Try changing it in the Video Options.
  21. Hey there, welcome to the Forums and the community. Hope you enjoy your stay c:
  22. Delete main.properties in PokeMMO\Config and launch the game.
  23. Let me elaborate a little. Currently the game - apart from a few balancing tweaks and ignoring the parts that the developers coded completely themselves such as the U.I, some of the competitive aspects, the GTL, cosmetics etc and a lot more on the backend, is still pretty much default. There is a reason for that, implementing changes that change the actual base game mechanics or introduce new ones is harder than it seems, the base games are currently provided by the user in the form of ROM's (.nds .gba) and these are officially covered under Copyright Law by Nintendo. This is the reason why PokeMMO is bent on not sharing/providing ROM's to the community as it would introduce legal issues. They are only modifying the game, they are not making a new one out of it, that would be a misuse of copyright. If they were to introduce your concept it could be perceived that they are using copyrighted material (directly) and introducing it into their own game. But I'm not a legal expert, so un-sure on that but that is one of the things they have to consider. I can assure you from a development perspective it is not a "simple script" as yes these things are referenced in the game but they were never coded to be used by the actual player, there are currently no strings attached or nothing in the code relating to "Bug Catcher" that could be easily modified to fit your idea, except to identify an NPC as no such thing existed in the original games, meaning they would be coding it from scratch. And if they did - they would then have to test it - likely on every major NPC battle in the game, making tweaks and ensuring there are no game-breaking bugs or side-effects from their additions which takes long-enough and is a hard task on its own. This is one of the things I am referring to when I talk about balancing issues. This is a completely NEW feature/idea. Most of the people who are interested in playing this game do have knowledge from the previous games or they are coming from a similar Pokemon MMO, competitive players for example would be easily scared away from things like this as it changes the meta completely, slight changes can have a domino effect when it comes to the competitive side which has been around for years and years and that is taken fairly seriously in this community and staff and tier council constantly battling already to balance it. A lot of people who are new to the game will not know were to look for answers or FAQ and will end up asking these questions to support or staff. I can already picture the influx of questions asking why their pokemon got randomly confused and the hundreds of people saying "This doesn't happen in the original games." Which isn't a bad thing but I'm just trying to point out how big of an update this would actually be. This is another one - this would not only change the competitive side but also the entire statistical aspect of the game - Smogon builds would no longer be applicable due to stats being boosted, the universal way of measuring a Pokémon's strength and viability is out the window and replaced with a much more niche and unique one which I just don't see being viable at all. PokeMMO's framework is simple and that's why it's a good game, the Pokemon franchise is universally recognised already and millions of people love it, changing things like this impacts that in bigger ways than I think you are grasping. I also fail to see how EV's being in the game is in any way Pay to Win as you can literally do it without spending any money (IRL or Pokeyen) by yourself, for free. But that's just my opinion, like I said the idea is great, I'm just not sure it fits.
