  1. Hello! Just got your DM! I’ll be catching up with you shortly!
  2. Oh yea, Linking Trainer cards would be nice, and yea, set privacy settings (So if you dont PVP, you could hide the whole thing) Would also be a go-to to show/confirm progress, and be able to check where you are in each region, if the Trainer card shows ALL the badges you have, not just the ones you have on in the region your currently in.
  3. Already chatted with you on discord! So we can get together soon!
  4. Howdy! Message me on discord @maikull and we can get you started! I have pretty much the same goals in the game!
  5. Hello! Not sure if your still working on it or not, but there seems to be a file issue with Vanillish/Vanilluxe cries not working.
  6. Hello everyone. This is either my 2nd or 3rd time making an introductory post, but I have been gone for (According to one of the counters, 500+ days) quite a while, so it feels like a fresh start again. I am Cool Trainer Bnowskii. I have been into Pokémon ever since I was a child. And as where that might not be a very good identifier of how long I have been in the game, let’s just say, back in my day Pikachu was Fat and Ugly, and Ash in the Anime really WAS 10 years old! Pokémon Red was my first ever introduction into the Genre, and back then I had a brick sized Gameboy that looked like something out of Transformers! ((Yea, Nintendo didn’t know what a Backlight was back in the day, and unlike when you drop your phone on your face, when this came down, you blacked out and woke up in the nearest Pokécenter!)) But despite the low graphics, it was one hell of an experience to be able to play out the world we were watching on TV. And we didn’t have online guides to help us out with battles and puzzles…there was the official Prima’s Official Strategy Guide, a full-on encyclopedia with screenshots and lists, hell it was probably the precursor to Wiki. (If you were lucky to know someone who got it! And if you were that friend who shared your copy with friends, you’re the real OG) Kanto is where I started my journey in the Pokémon world, and it will always hold a special place in my heart for my many youthful hours spent along its routes and battlefields. But The Release of Pokémon Silver and Gold was a game changer. Not only was it a BRILLIANT game in its own right but it allowed you to go back and revisit Kanto, and play through that whole area all over again, and see how the world had progressed after the events of Red/Blue/Yellow. If Kanto was where I was born, Jhoto was defiantly where I grew up. Its also where I got introduced to the Manga, and BOY was that an eye opener! Despite me growing older, and having more and more responsibility, I still made time for Pokemon Silver (And later Crystal when it came out). Thankfully I got my hands on a Gameboy Color, so playing under the sheets at night was much easier! And that, my friends, is where my journey began to stall. Ruby and Sapphire released not too long after silver, but on the updated Game Boy Advanced. Unfortunately, GBA Game cartages didn’t work on an old Gameboy Color, so I only got a small taste of Hoenn whenever a friend would let me play for a little bit. I felt my grip on the ever growing world of Pokémon slipping, as more and more was released outside of my ability to catch up. 150 turned to 250, and then +600. By the time I knew of Platinum and the Black/White Series, I felt like Pokémon had passed me by. Sure, there were pockets of interest here and there. Roms and Emulators were a thing, but I was older. I didn’t have the time I once did to dive into all these new disconnected worlds anymore. Pokémon Go is what really brought me back into the light (figuratively, and physically) many years later, and it rekindled my love for the series. But now, Ash was an un-aging 10yo God, cursed to never win a Championship, and each new game was a stand-alone segment, with little to no connection to the Pokémon I once grew up with. I wanted to find a way to get back to my roots, while getting to know the ever-growing world of Pokémon once again. And that’s when I found out about PokeMMO. Granted, I didn’t join till 2020, And in that, there was only Kanto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova Regions, which was great and all, and a very good place to start, but It didn’t have Jhoto. And even among the community it was a toss up to weather or not the region could even be implemented, because of its overlapping end game region. It was disheartening, but still I started in the game none the less, choosing my starting region in Kanto, and worked my way through the timeline! See, even when I was big into Pokémon, the anime (and complete lack of online resources) instilled a sense of compassion in my playstyle. I never wanted to just play the Meta, and I was disturbed by the notions of OU, UU, NU. I always wanted to play with Pokémon I liked, and always felt with enough training any Pokémon could be the best. The whole idea of constant breeding and EV/IV grinding only seemed to chip away at the spirit of the story for me (Not knocking the people who do enjoy it, its just not how I ever got down in my generations). So I was bound and determined to be the very best I could be, MY way. In Kanto, I had a friend gift me two low level starters, grabbed a Pidgey off Route 1 and a Pikachu out of Viridian I was going to beat this Region Katchem Style! (With Nidorino rounding off the team with us). Now I wasn’t a full Anime Copycat, I was fully ready to Evolve my Pikachu into Raichu when the time was right, and by the end of that run, I had swept all 8 Gyms, Team Rocket, and Beat the Elite 4 with a total of 0 Losses. A Perfect Sweep despite my Blastoice having a 1 in both Defense and Sp.Atk IV’s (Which they were cheap GTL grabs, so no wonder!) Hoenn was next on the list, and despite me having a LITTLE bit of knowledge of the region and story, it was still a bit refreshing to encounter things for the first time! I stuck with the same format as in Kanto (All Three Starters, Beginning Bird, Grabbed a Raltz instead of an Electric, and rounded off with an Aron out of Granite Cave) I was a little less frugal with my GTL purchases, so no 0’s or 1’s for IV’s at least, but it was never my main focus. Once again I crushed the 8 Gyms, Beat Team Aqua and Magma, and Put down the Elite 4. And yet again in this run, 0 losses on my part to the story. I had heard PokeMMO had upped the difficulty, and felt good I was still in good enough shape to stay ahead of the challenge curve. Sinnoh was no different in story or outcome. However I went into this region completely blind as to what to expect. Shinx was my Pikachu, with a Rt.1 Bird, Three Starters, and a Gible. Cynthia was played up to be a massive challenge, and as where she was no joke, I once again took my place as Champion! Now, a bit of more backstory for me. When I found PokeMMO back in 2020, I had my 2nd child, A wife, Respectable Fulltime job, so really the only time I had to play was off and on at nights when the kids were put down to bed. Sometimes all that entailed was leveling my team up by 1 each and logging back off. But that’s always been a blessing of Pokémon Games, the ability to set it back down and pick it up when you were ready for it. It was a -LONG- time before I really engaged anyone in the community. It was always nice to see others walking in and out and around towns, so it didn’t feel like I was alone, but integrating and linking up with people didn’t happen much till closer to 2022 when I joined my first team. [Habitat]. Up until then I never saw the point, I was a casual gamer with minimal time, and less know-how. It was a little off-putting at times when I did skim the recruitment posts, seeing 200+hr/3-4 Regions Beat…because for a long time I never thought I would fit that bill. [Habitat] was a casual guild, for New and Old players alike to share their knowledge. We had events here and there, and I did my best to engage where I could and make a lasting contribution, but as many small teams here, they didn’t last and unfortunately disbanded a year ago. #HabitatHeven But back to the story: with me being able to sweep Sinnoh, I felt confident in my ability to tackle Unova, the most recent/advanced of the game series to me, and one I had once looked at with apprehension. Now on my 4th playthrough it felt more and more like the same old slog. The excitement of ‘New’ story felt old, a lot of things also felt more forced to me and I found myself less and less engaged with the game as a whole. Then Java Happened. Or more correctly, Java Quit. PokeMMO was impacted of course, but the diligent Devs already had a work around. Unfortunately for me, the work arounds didn’t work out so well, and I found myself locked out of the game. Already disinterested I just didn’t feel the urge to fight to get back in and figured my time had come. I mean hell, they STILL didn’t have Jhoto Region unlocked! What was I going to do when I finished Unova anyway? Lol. That brings me to today, my revival and return to the series. Thankfully my account was still standing, and while going through my sons old Fire Tablet, I found the Android Version of PokeMMO that still worked! (I primary play PC and had forgotten about that download when I upgraded him). So with some ‘forget password’ links clicked and I new work around downloaded, I found myself back into the world of Pokémon, and LO AND BEHOLD, JHOTO IS HERE WAITING FOR ME! As I write this, I stand outside the Opelucide City Gym (8th Gym in the Unova Region) and Ready to take my steps onto the next Victory Road. I’m looking forward to the Final Showdown with my Rival N (Who I have been given similar hype too as Cynthia) and I am looking forward to coming home, to Jhoto. I already have my team of starters in the bank waiting to begin our adventure. But more than that, I think I finally found my calling in the End Game. To reach Mt. Silver, to reach Red…the Ultimate Pokémon Showdown, Not only do I have to beat all subsequent Pokémon Leagues (Which I have already mostly done by this point) But I also have to Complete the National Pokédex (All OT Captures). That’s even more exiting to me, because in all my years playing Pokémon, I have never truly completed the Pokedex, even back when it was 150! (No I didn’t look under the truck for Mew) This will be my Magnum Opus, the ending to a personal saga that has been 26 years in the making. Finally, not only will I prove I am the very best, but I will have fulfilled the mantra to “Catch them All!” Then…once I have taken my place on Mt. Silver, will I finally be able to set down my controller and put the world of Pokémon to rest. TLDR: So, I am back! For the last time hopefully! And on my way to finally completing my Pokémon adventure. If you are new here, welcome. I can personally attest this game has it all. If you want competition and ranking: This game has it. If you want to Shiny Hunt: This game has them all. If you want to breed the perfect Bidoof: you can certainly do that here. Or if you’re like me, and you just want to enjoy the story and relive your childhood… There is no better place on the internet that right here to do it. And If you want to replay Pokémon Silver/Gold: ITS FINALLY HERE BABY~! Despite my anti-social nature, this community has been nothing but warm, welcoming, and extremely helpful! 10/10, 5 Stars, and Complements to the Chef’s (Devs) for giving us this FREE and complete nostalgic experience!
  7. *Your in game name: Bnowzkii *How many hours do you have: 181 * How many regions have you completed: (3) Kanto, Sinnoh, Hoenn (6 Badges into Unova, and Eagerly Waiting Start of Jhoto) * (Optional) : What you expect from the team: Honestly, nothing more than accept me for who I am. Would be nice to have people to chat with, and maybe a side-gig or two to attend every now and then. * (Optional) : What are your goals in your future on PokeMMO: I am a very casual gamer. My main goals are just to play through old regions I played as a kid, and beat all the new fangled ones I missed out on growing up. (Which is what I am doing in unova right now). Once I beat that hurdle, sounds like I have a hunt on my hands to complete the dex for the first time in my life, so I can head up Mt. Silver. So, we shall see! Not gonna lie, (SiFy) as a team tag (Plus Reppin PkmnSilver) :chef's-kiss:
  8. Hello! My name is Mike (IG: Bnowzkii) I've seen this project before, but just now got around to trying it out, and I'm kicking myself for not starting sooner. Loving the Mods I can install to make the game more authentic for me. I'm not much of a 'team player'. Id like to play the game like I was solo, but nice to know I have a social option to talk to people. I'm not competitive in the least bit. I kind of got away from Pokémon games after Smogen Rankings became a thing and categorized Pokémon into usefulness. I am of the belief I like to play with the Pokémon I like, not the ones that are just 'mechanically superior'. I play for fun and that's pretty much it. I have "Regional" teams laid out (Only in Kanto right now) which consist mostly of starters, but I do have a "Dream Team" id like to build and mess around with. I plan on semi-streaming my gameplay on Twitch if anyone is interested. Not sure if its allowed to advertise when I go live on the Discord Channel, but feel free to tune in/stream snipe! :P I'm 32, almost 33 (On 12/11), Pokémon is a OLD, but dear memory I have of my youth. And with Pokémon Go following the same OU formula, and the whole "Needing to go outside" aspect, I'm just gonna sit at my computer and enjoy this instead. Look forward to meeting some of ya'll in game. My chat window will mostly be closed, but I wont ignore if someone says something to me in /normal. (I'm all for whispers too, but with the window closed, not so sure ill always see it to respond.) Thanks! Mike "Bnowzkii"
