NU is extremely volatile already and UT being dependant on NU usage would be even more. I don't think there is any point in trying to do any tiering for UT. Any tiering decision by the time gets reached becomes void by the time we would get the next usage drop. If something ends up broken, so be it because it's very likely by the time we figure out it's broken, it probably wouldn't be anymore.

Also, out of pure principe, UT stands for Untiered, a format that exists in defiance of any tiering getting done. It would be a disservice imo if we started to change it through tiering.

On smogon, Ubers was supposed to be the tier for only the broken legendarys with no restrictions, and yet the tier had to put rules after Mega-Rayquaza. If the PSL starts in October, the way untiered started it would go through entire championship. On the worst scenario, we would have to deal with an single tiershift. We can afford an Banlist and we should to ensure that the tier remains competitive(And I've already play test matches, you guys don't know how stupidly broken fight-types are in the format because there is lack of Fight Resistances. Best we had was Amoongus and Qwilfish but Qwilfish rised to NU and Amoongus to OU after HAs.)

+1 for UT next season, it has so many interesting pokemons

Sadly i have no $$$, otherwise i'd host weekly tours for UT, letting people preparing for the tier. People would reach onto PSL with the teams and good knowledge of the tier, instead of playiing with some weird mons(I mean... No one noticed Slowking that is a pretty decent mon, is UT bcause on PCL 0 people i record of using it). This would 100% make me try my luck into the tour(I'm an average player on all other tiers but not in UT.)

But honestly, what is your hardware? I had that kind of a problem on a poor device, maybe this is the root of the problem?

Your device should be a Brick Nokia. Because i use right now an Samsung J1 6 and it runs fine to me, except in the circunstance mentioned above.

So I have tried many website to download the file they do show on my device. I have to unzip them after that I can still see the file. But when I go to the game and Select file It asks me to chose file I do but it empty. I got a Android version 13/Brand Facetel Model Q3_US.

Any help would real be cool thank you.

Remember that Fire Red/Emerald roms ends in .gba the files, and Sinnoh, Unova and Johto are .nds files. Check if the ending matches, if dont then you had fake ones and you has to found new ones. How we can't tell.

I like UT, it could be a good addition imo. Hopefully, UT gains more popularity during the year so that next PSL the player base is large enough to compete.

UT right now is the 2nd most popular unofficial format, just behind Little Cup. Maybe some tours to incentive players to go for them like was done to LC recently? But if someone wants to go and do the tours, please do not commit the same mistake that PCL and TCL did. Make the format as it was an Official one, with proper banlists and etc... A tier without balancing is disgusting to play

  6. I will try to talk the less than possible there since i'm out of the talk place here.

    Hello,

I appreciate that it's the middle of the regular season of PSL XVI as I write this but I thought it would be a good idea to gather feedback from the community regarding this PSL edition and also look at suggestions for the next one (whoever would be keen to host it).

    I'll share my views:

    Pros

    • I thought it was nice to have a variety of managers involved, including giving a debut to managers like NecasInTrouble and Wallarro - it shows that the competitive community is willing to continue giving new people a chance to showcase their managerial skills in the biggest unofficial tournament
    • Drama was identified and dealt with pretty quickly (e.g. the Brumoso incident), although it could have potentially been dealt with more smoothly (e.g. Not suspending Necas)
    • New players were able to debut in their first PSL season (e.g. LiveLaughHate amongst others)
    • The chips were a nice incentive and had that surprise factor against opposing teams

    Cons

    • I believe that Doc doing most of the stuff on his own wasn't a good idea considering his commitments - these sort of events always need help as it's incredibly time-consuming
    • Although the chips were a good incentive, I believe that this alongside the point above caused line-ups to be submitted and weekly line-ups to be posted slightly late
    • The fact that players could leave a team that was eliminated during the regular season and join a team to increase their chances at winning seems a bit unfair - I believe you should stick with your team until the very end unless a midseason draft occurs, as it's the player and manager's responsibility to motivate the team. Although both managers had to agree to the trade, I feel players should stick with that team regardless
    • Some of the draft picks weren't the best compared to previous seasons
    • PSL is starting to lose its identity as the years go on. It used to be known as the competition for only the most elite and top players in the game but admittedly the quality has been decreasing over time. Although there are still some great quality matches, the overall quality has definitely reduced.

To be updated as the season progresses.

Now onto my suggestions for a future PSL...

    Timeline

    • General Thread to be posted at the beginning of October (enough time to collect donations and build hype)
    • Manager/Player registrations to be posted on the second week of November (Manager sign-ups open for one week, player sign-ups open for two weeks)
    • Auction to take place on the last Saturday/Sunday of November
    • Regular season to take place from the first week of December, with one of the following formats:
      • Seven week round-robin, each team will play each other once. A team will receive 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss. 6 teams would qualify for the playoffs.
      • Two groups consisting of four teams each (the teams will be chosen at random) - each team will play each other twice, lasting for six weeks. A team will receive 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss. The top two teams from each group would qualify for the playoffs (4 in total), or the top three from each group qualifying (6 in total) but the teams finishing top automatically receiving a bye until the semifinals.
    • Playoffs would take place from January and conclude in February (around CNY event time)

    Manager selection

    • There would be a variety of managers picked varying from those who have gained multiple tournament wins, competed in PSL or those who haven't managed before but may have the skills required to take on the role

    Player selection

    One of the following options:

    • All players who signed up regardless of quality will be considered for the draft
    • Implement a certain criteria for players to be drafted to ensure consistent high-quality matches - credit to @LeJovi for the suggestion

    Tiers

    • Reintroduce showdown tiers, with a vote between:
      • SV OU, SM OU, ORAS OU, DPP OU, ADV OU, VGC
        • If this is not possible then potentially a separate tournament where MMO players would exclusively participate in showdown tiers to prove their skills (e.g. A Smogon based PSL purely aimed at MMO players)
    • Regular Season
      • 8 Tiers - OU, OU, UU, NU, DUBS, LC, MC, MC
      • 10 Tiers - OU, OU, UU, NU, DUBS, LC, MC, MC, Showdown tierShowdown tier
      • 6 Tiers - OU, UU, NU, DUBS, LC, Showdown Tier - Credit to @Luke
        • There is a consideration to get rid of Manager Choice for future PSL's as there are no great benefits and it risks inexperienced players being slotted in that spot instead of being able to showcase their full potential.
    • Playoff Season
      • Same as above, but in the event of a tie managers will battle in the following tiers (OU, MC, MC)

    General

    • Chips would be abandoned
    • Introduce a co-host and PSL Council to ensure that the event runs smoothly throughout, line ups/deadlines are handled quicker and to help if any incidents/drama occurs
    • Disable trades during the season as teams that are already eliminated (e.g. RDL's team) can put other teams at an advantage/disadvantage, since in theory, RDL's team may not need to try anymore compared to previous weeks
    • Allow a midseason draft from week 5/6 onwards to give undrafted players or players who missed the original deadline to join if they want. Managers would be given a certain number of credits unrelated to the original draft to bid on these players.
    • Managers to potentially battle each other to decide potential tiebreakers during playoffs (assuming they are not allowed to play again).
    • Having pre-established teams with a consistent mascot for each PSL - Credit to @Luke
    • Removing Manager Choices as a tier and replacing this with Showdown tiers or removing these altogether - Credit to @Luke @Quinn010
    • Make sure that coaching, if caught, is severely punished to try and deter players from attempting to do so.

    Betting

    • Betting threads to be reintroduced in the Unofficial Tournaments section for PSL, due to a number of people not realising about the Club section and engagement being lower than previous years

    Additional

    • Try and bring back Kyu OT Pokemon or other staff prizes as an extra incentive for MvPs and media recorders - Credit to @Axelgor for the idea

This just came to my head right now so wanted to share, but I'd like to emphasise that this does not mean I'm planning to host the next PSL, more that I thought it would be good to get feedback and ideas in as soon as possible so that we can avoid any delays like this year.

    Let's see some points there:
    - Manager and Player Low quality on drafts: Agree with that, but what about putting some requirments on table to make players on the draft on good quality? Pick up the template that @gbwead proposed off(He put into a quote so i can't quote it's comment to show off. ), pick the nicks and make as a requirment to have won any official tour(Not Community-hosted nor Community Combats) and be on Hall of fame, or have won any expression unofficial tournament(I.E. World Cup or Past PSLs.). Using the picked nicks, you can double-check the titles.
    - Format to the PSL: Second format would be very good, especially if the Home team gets the right to choose where it's going to play. A lot of good places to play, and every single competition is on Vermilion. An alternative option if the first one is implemented and there is enough players to do so, it's 10 teams on a single table or 2 groups of 6(On the second one, would be only a single leg of games to avoid a tour with over 12 weeks.)
    - Showdown Tiers: Bad idea. Not like it at all because it undervalue MMO players. The problem is when on PokéMMO Super League there is players that don't play PokéMMO at all, or play it a little and focus mainly on Smogon tours. If there is Showdown tiers, there will be players registering that are good on smogon, but are complety unknown on MMO, and registered due to some friend manager request. Also, there is some Non-official formats on MMO like VGC and Untiered, that are never given a chance. Unless the first suggestion i placed is applied, not a chance to put those tiers

Is there any mod that can reduce or optimize the battle effects? Mainly the Sandstorm one, it lags my game A LOT.

Man, sandstorm barely lags your game. You're facing someone using an Alpha? Because Alphas indeed lag the game a lot, talking with my own experience(My FPS decrease from 60 to 15-30 when an alpha enters on field)

Would it be possible to get access to the player's position in the entire map? Instead of a screenshot of just what the player sees, it would be a screenshot of the player inside of the current zone/all loaded zones (the one they are in)

You can use like i said. Divide the entire world into Tiles, then the Screenshot will be used to determine in which tile you're in. But you need to build an entire map and determine the tiles.

Entei has 5 more points in base Speed which is very important allowing it to surpass important threats like Sigilyph or Yanmega.

It doesn’t need to rely on moves that have recoil damage so it doesn’t die as easy as Arcanine.

It can burn easily with Sacred Fire.

Stone Edge is superior to Close Combat and Wild Charge right now imo.

    It has better stats.

The only good thing I see about Arcanine is that it has better abilities.

Sacred is low PP, and it deals less dmg than arca unless running Flare Blitz that does the same recoil. Also, stone edge besides helping with Mence and Rotom-H, doesn't help against water, while Wild Charge does. Also close combat to hit somehow rock-types and make them think before switching is not something to disrespect. Entei could be far better by having just one decent Fighting-type move. Except for the burn, everything that someone would fear switching on a Entei would also fear when switching onto a Arcanine and Arcanine is far away from being broken. People should look on Unnoticed threats, i won't tell which but there is one dangerous mon roaming on UU and no one noticed it.

  10. 16 minutes ago, Imperial said:

"Entei is just a weaker Arcanine"... I'm sorry, I don't ever remember people complaining about Arcanine or it ever getting suspect tested.

That's exactly the point. Arcanine is far superior than Entei. Arcanine is not being suspected, but Entei is. Read the spoilers to see why i think that about entei.

  11. This is still open? Well, let's see how this suspect ends. I wonder when people will realize that Entei is just a Weaker Arcanine...

    Spoiler

Yea, you didn't read my opinion wrong. What entei Has is just Sacred Fire and a bit of extra stats, but on Everything else, Arcanine is far superior. It has a better coverage, mostly remarkable Close Combat and Wild Charge, and two abilitys that are better. Not saying pressure is bad, but comparing it with Intimidate/Flash Fire is compare a Storm with an tornado.

there is a command that show you your ubication in coordinates. Is /loc.

Yea, but the problem is he wants an mod that let the coords through public view all the time(Could be the resource in the future to do Proximity-voice Mods. ) There is no way to constantly checking this info except for a software which spamms /loc in the chat, but it's against the rules(It's an automation).

Hello, I am trying to make a mod that shows your coordinates in the overworld. I am new to coding and I want to make this mod to learn how. I checked the doc posted here about how to make a mod, but there was nothing mentioned about creating something like this. The main thing I am stuck on right now is how I would get the coordinates from the game. Can anyone help me do that?

I think the way is putting a software to constantly take prints of your screens like Encounter Counter does. It's fine since you aren't automating anything in-game. Next, you want to determine an coordinate for each tile. From that you must determine an 0,0 point, and then which tile corresponds to which coordinates. The prints enters now, with the software founding the tile you're currently on and determining your coordinates that way. The biggest challenge will be Unova however, since on all other regions each tile is an Square, on Unova not necessarily, and also there is different angles for a camera. For Unova i think the best would be making a grid to showcase the tiles in a plant view, then you can make the system track the time you hold a keyboard/number of presses and move your tile in the map accordingly. The prints would be used to check when you switch places via transition.

We include as many canon moves for each species as we can within a gen 5 environment. This is why gen 1-2 event moves and PoGo-only moves are available despite not being obtainable in the most recent mainline games, as well as moves that were stripped from learnsets or entirely removed over the generations. If it was canon at any point and the move exists in gen 5, the default is inclusion.

Sometimes canon moves need to be taken away for balancing reasons however, most notably Fissure Machamp due to its No Guard ability. Previously this also included moves that resulted in a species being sent to ubers, although we've recently changed our approach for these ones to complex ban the moves instead to allow them in PvE and doubles.

We can add or remove anything we want to, but we believe that this is the best way to handle learnsets at this time.

And just a question: If a combination on a mon is deemed broken in a meta, but the two or more moves and/or abilities part of the combination are not broken in the same mon individually, then what is the approach that will be done? Like Wish + Tp on Chansey. Both moves splitted are fine. Having both at same time it's not and people already explained why so i'm not bringing this subject here to avoid extreme derailing. If the TC decides to do actions of those, the combination of those moves will be banned or one of them will be banned?

When you share your opinion on public forums, you have to expect that people will disagree with you, that’s just how it is on the internet man. You can’t just expect people to agree with you every single time you share your thoughts on a topic. And if people see a flaw in a specific part of your argument (which they did), they will point it out. I don’t particularly agree on the way they did but regardless, you are entitled to your opinion and so are they and nothing compels them to answer all of the 84 other lines of your post. Maybe they agree with the rest or maybe they don’t or maybe they just don’t bother to reply to everything in any of your post. Nobody is out to get you

Bug-type resisting to Psychic-type was part of your argument. You were proven wrong. That’s it

Ik people will disagree, but the problem is only when they try to disagree and if they can't disagree  they straight up ignore instead of doing good feedback(Pointing out small mistakes like @LunarEdge did, not bulllying or straight up invalidating the whole argument.) or agreeing with the argument to give him credibility.

And when i refuse some critics it's pretty obvious the reasons. Doing critics like: "Good argument but pointing out that X information is wrong because of Y, Z and/or A factors" is how people should correct others, and not do like: "X info is wrong, shut up your imbecile and play the game." like people commonly does. (Pointing Directly onto Zokuru's answer.) The problem wasn't and never will be an argument, and yes how people reply to the argument of others that doesn't agree with them.

About the resistances i indeed recorded of a good one as i pointed out. The problem is i wasn't recalling which one and assumed to be psychic because Bug attacks beats psychic. Wasn't remembering the third one was Grass because i didn't even consider Grass an Excellent type like the Other two(Fight and Ground)

  15. 3 hours ago, LunarEdge said:

except for the bug resistances which it only resists plant, fighting and ground you have a point of bug having very good moves, quiver dance, u-turn, bug buzz that ignores substitute, first impression on later gens being a priority bug type fake out of some sort and of course sticky web that is a very good move for teams with lower speed sweepers, I don't get why you getting bullied for making a mistake about a resist when everything else you said is valid, it's like these people that invalidate your argument because of a spelling error XD.

Man, that happens always with me, i can write an essay of 85 lines, they will search and quote only what they found to blame me, even if it's just one of the 85 lines. If they don't found anything then they won't answer. (Did you see the argument about Wish TP i did on April Movement thread? Since there was NOTHING they founded to blame me they just straight shut up.) About the moves i legit forgot about QD but there didn't change the situation. Bug is literally the Opposite of Ice, is good defensively but bad offensively(Ice is good Offensively and Terrible Defensively) , just have like 5 good moves to any offense and that's it.

  16. 2 hours ago, Zokuru said:

Bug doesnt resist psychic, sticky web is far from being among the best moves and Uturn can be prevented, in fact, there's multiple ways to do that ( Eject Button, Shedinja). Please stop spouting nonsense when you have no clue what you are talking about.

Shedinja has 0% usage(not literally 0 usage but last time checked has less than 1%) and Eject Button is a one time use. While every other way of pivoting has 1 reliable answer to prevent it. And when i say prevent is not like: Using chip dmg to make people think on switching, and yes stop the move as a whole from being used(Ex: Volt Switch is prevented by Volt Absorb and Grounds, Teleport/Baton Pass by Taunt). Remember what i sayed: U-turn can only be Punished. About resistances, I did recall of a good resistance Bug Has, not recalling if was Psychic or Dark.

  17. Just to fix something, bug is not the worst type defensively, it's actually one of the best. Sure, it has some weakness but they have resistances and the resistances are actually good. Resisting to Psychic, Fight and Ground is excellent. The problem is offensively, since Bug doesn't had the presence offensivelly it had defensively. The only thing Bug has are the 2 best moves in Pokémon history, Sticky Web(Best tool for any offensive team since having advantage on a speed dispute is always good) and U-turn(Literally an Uncontested Pivot, unlike any other pivoting move this cannot be prevented, just punished.), and the first doesn't even exist there.

Would be cool if we had a 100 BP outrage at least, ou is becoming really defensive with every new update (regenerator neutralizing gas weezing Zapdos suicune, heatran jirachi and celebi in the future), and now most of the high elo players are playing defensive teams..

Or develop an Stockfish to MMO battles, and start using it on ladder because against the high-rated players you has to play perfectly. A slighty innacuracy and he won. At least until now, an IA developed to calculate the best move in a battle is not against any rules since on ladder and on official tours for some reason Coaching is not forbidden. And only official tours, all unofficial ones bans coaching.

  19. On 4/6/2024 at 8:47 PM, Imperial said:

As much as fairy types are cool, I honestly don't see a reason for MMO to implement this unless they ever decide to introduce gen 6 mons & moves alongside adjusting the steel weakness/resistance chart. Right now the main fairy types we would get would be...

    • Clefairy/Clefable
    • Azumarill
    • Gardevoir
    • Togekiss
    • Granbull
    • Wigglytuff
    • Ninetales
    • Mr Mime
    • Mawile
    • Whimsicott
    • (and maybe a few more?)

From a PvP perspective, the main meta influencing Pokemon would be Clefable (will likely see a significant increase in usage for OU to deal with dragons), Togekiss, Azumarill and potentially Whimsicott for doubles. I don't really see many mons that would benefit from a PvE perspective.

I feel there aren't really any benefits for adding Fairy types right now, and Orange perfectly explained the issue with Knock Off (e.g. In the newer gens CB Crawdaunt with Knock Off is insane, for example).

What about a Knock Off slighty buff? Like, to 40 BP? I believe it still won't be broken, as at best it became a 60 BP with stab or item removal boost, 90 BP with both, and 90 BP already considering stab is not a huge deal. Sure, removing items is great, but with Knock off also exists Trick and Switcheroo with simmilar functions and the bonus of giving a mon a (usually) bad item. The only mon that can really abuse highly from that is Scizor, because the move will be 90 BP for him, rarely being 60, but if becames too broken we can deal with it by a single ban. It will still be the move balanced we know, and with some offenses with enough power being able to use it.
