  1. Specially Defensive Ttar tears Volcarona a new one. 0 Atk Tyranitar Rock Blast (3 hits) vs. 248 HP / 156 Def Volcarona: 264-324 (138.2 - 169.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO Ttar can even tank +1 Bug Buzz: +1 252 SpA Life Orb Volcarona Bug Buzz vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Tyranitar in Sand: 101-120 (48.7 - 57.9%) -- 89.5% chance to 2HKO It won't be 2HKO unboosted: 252 SpA Life Orb Volcarona Bug Buzz vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Tyranitar in Sand: 65-81 (31.4 - 39.1%) -- 97.4% chance to 3HKO Granted, Ttar doesn't have the recovery to be a true wall, so it can be chipped down if it has to check Volc multiple times. But we're talking about a Pokemon that takes 50% to stealth rocks here (A move Ttar has). If an opponent has perfect hazard control against you, you're probably going to loose regardless. And if Volc doesn't have Bug Buzz, it can do nothing against Ttar. This example feeds into the main reason why I don't think volc is broken, and frankly have a hard time taking your claim that it's meta-warping seriously. There are so many options that can potentially counter MOST Volc sets, that no one set Volcarona has is all that formidable. If you forgo substitute or safeguard you loose to the blobs, if you drop bug coverage you loose to Ttar, if you drop fire coverage you can't beat steels, if you drop giga drain then you can't beat grounds, drop psychic and SpD Mienshao (or Tentacruel) is an issue, and no recovery means no way to handle rocks or be tanky. You can only run 3 moves + quiver dance; any set will have several gaps. And it goes with out saying you have to provide Volc with a lot of dedicated support to reliably get it in the field in the first place. So while you are technically correct that there is no mon that is guaranteed to counter EVERY Volcarona set EVERY TIME, that is true for most great offensive pokemon. Exotic sets are a fact of life in comp, and with Volc you have to make trade-offs gaining the capability to get certain KO's in exchange for other important capabilities. Base 120 outrage would be interesting but only if it was removed from Chomp, Dnite, (and possibly also Mence's) move-sets. In my experience, I don't think Gallade as OP as some make it out to be. Although I don't play stall, and I respect the TC's decision as it really didn't have a true wall.
  2. ALSO: What are the implications of all the good recovery moves, (recover, soft-boiled, roost) getting their PP halved?
  3. Does anyone know if we will get updated hail (snow)? It seems like a slight buff but I don't think it will change the viability of hail, unless Aurora veil is added to PokeMMO at some point.
  4. I support this. Using a viability rating for tiering purposes is probably a more fair way to assign tiers. Tiering isn't even an issue that directly concerns me, as I mostly play OU. But it is simply more useful to me to have such ELO-adjusted information available to me for team-building purposes, rather than having to guess how much I should plan for certain mons based on their usage, tournament usage, and win-rate. I don't know much about UU, but I can say that Dugtrio is a bit gimmicky in OU. Probably a majority of on-meta mons can OHKO it if it's sash is broken, and with so many rockers that can get in so easily, it is easy to do. Given how common hard-hitting priority attackers are in the tier, (Scissor, Conk, D-nite, etc) being fast is no guarantee of safety for dugtrio. Probably the biggest problem with dugtrio, is that the two most common pivots, Chansey and Rotom-W, simply aren't very vulnerable to being trapped and killed (Rotom-W due to levitate, Chansey due to physical bulk, softboiled and teleport.) The only relevant role it has in OU right now is to clean for dark types on Volc setup teams that depend on Ttar and Weavile being gone so espeon can keep rocks off.
  5. Apparently the devs have been talking about it for years, but it's honestly anyone's guess when or if it will ever happen. Personally I think they're going to do HG/SS before they do dungeons because people always complaign about there being no Johto, even though all the gen 2 non-legendaries can already be caught. :-(
  6. No, nasty plot is allowed for PvP. --- Conk is a great pokemon in general, an absolute monster of a physical attacker. It typically get a Burn orb, 252 Attack, 240-ish HP, and the rest into Speed. Blissey's special attack isn't nothing, but it's not strong enough that Conk should have to worry about switching into it. Just make sure you bring out Conk before you go switching it into a poke that knows toxic (as Chansey and Blissey pretty much always do), because Conk needs to end a turn in the field before burn orb effect happens and Conk is immune to other status effects.
  7. The links for the images appear to be dead.
  8. @Kyu Is outrage getting buffed to 120 base damage?
  9. But you are still supposed to have a ROM file for a game in order to play the corresponding region in PokeMMO. So, in theory, everyone playing PokeMMO already bought all the games. And this would be true for B2W2 also. I don't think we should have B2W2 because we would not be getting any new pokemon. All non-legendaries are already obtainable, so there's no point to adding more regions unless it's gen 6 or something. Also I'm not sure if it makes sense from an in-game perspective in pokemmo because now you have 2 Unova regions.
