To be fair, in the last 6 months stall has really fallen off in SM. No dugtrio made it much worse, but even meta trends are hurting it. Clefable and heatran are the most common stealth rockers. Utility tran guarantees stealth rocks and at minimum 1 kill against stall, and Clefable gets free rocks on Sabeleye. Mega Mawile is the most common wallbreaker used in the tier, and it is extremely hard to outplay with stall. Zygarde beats non-tangrowth stall builds, Mega-medicham and Mega-Zam can break stall, etc etc. SMOU is dominated by balance right now and hyper offense right now. Stall still can work, but it requires a lot more thinking and matchup luck than before. edit: didnt even mention Kartana is everywhere, magnezone is everywhere, banded ttar is everywhere, Lele, so much shit rn just breaks stall

I take it back. I had a preconceived notion you were bad last season bcuz u lost to Linken, didn't understand tier, and were big trashtalker. But looking back at replays, A. you got haxed by linken, B. you had 4-2 record otherwise, so i can't really shit talk that at all. Honestly, I don't know anything about the Nik bet I just thought you were a bad player lol. But now I see otherwise, you were pretty damn good at DPP and the plays u made were solid. I swallow my pride here, and if DPP is tier again I hope u play.

I hope you realize in every generation above 3, you need to use these "shit rng based moves" to win the game. You just simply can't get 1hkos/2hkos on power creep mons without using fire blast > flamethrower, hydro pump > surf, focus blast as coverage on heatran/ttar etc. Trust me this will slowly happen to MMO too as people are realizing you can't always use semistall in every game and stay relevant. This is already happening in MMO OU, focus blast on gengar needs to be used to hit ttar, stone edge is used over rock slide in almost all scenarios, togekiss is damn near one of the best mons in the tier, blah blah etc. And that is playing into your premise. I don't get how DPP makes you use more "uncompetitive moves" than MMO, or any other showdown tier. I'll give you Jirachi, that shit is fucking aids. But other than that, DPP has just as much luck as any other generation of pokemon from 4-7. IMO the most uncompetitive thing about DPP isn't even the hax, it's the team preview. Although, knowledgeable DPP players know how to play around team preview and know how teams are built nowadays.

I think Hydreigon should lose S tier status. Other dragons in tier can drop nukes with draco and overshadow the niche of the Specs hydrei set. Also, chansey and Eviolite pory2 are new hard checks/counters in most scenarios to Hydrei. Still extremely powerful and probably the best dragon, but A+ IMO.

Like I’ve said before, we have lost so many good DPP or at least serviceable players these past few seasons. Raptori, foggi, Xploz, Riga etc. We have gunthug, Oltan, sweet, (Nikilhr?), that play the tier now. I wouldn’t even consider myself in the conversation because I’m rusty as fuck in DPP compared to SM. If we somehow get that talent back in PSL, DPP would be fine and fun tier to watch. No disrespect intended, but Kami and Linken don’t fill that void of skill. Although what do I know, I sound like an old uguu who doesn’t like new DPPers. But typically new guys aren’t willing to invest a lot of time in an old tier, and my eye test is pretty solid at seeing who’s good in the tier. IMO either SM or DPP is fine, just understand there’s pros and cons for each.

I still actively play the tier and ladder to top 50 on a few accounts in past months. Last time it was here, tier was pretty shite. Meta has gotten better since, no dugtrio, less stall. This time around though, there will be a lot of mindless hyper offense that I would expect players to spam. (A-Ninetails, Ribombee, Koko screens, etc.) Overall it’s still not the hardest tier to learn, there’s only about 20ish staple mons in the meta, and 50+ viable mons that are you can learn pretty fast. Very enjoyable tier, lots of creativity, and creativity is rewarded in SM. Although if the skill level is the same as two seasons ago, I’d be afraid it could be a non-competitive tier except for a few players.

Motivation: never managed in Pokémon setting before, but have played in many draft/auction leagues as players in Pokémon. I want to take that next step and draft a beast squad. Have been on forefront of shitting on bad players with loud mouths and stirring drama pots. If you want a fun season where people stay interested because of cool narratives and beef battles, pick me.

I didn't play DPP last season, but from what I saw the level of skill dropped. It looked pretty shit at times and idk how many of the solid veterans are coming back for season 10. I'm biggest fan of DPP as a tier when I am playing it, but the viewing experience last season was really bad. Someone go find Btoom, XPLOZ, raptori, foggi to come play so we can get DPP back to how dope it was season 8.

agree. I just exposed what everyone was basically doing or had knowledge of. I wouldn't admit to cheating if it was wasn't for the purpose of making PSL a more competitive environment lol. Tbh idc about the 1m payment, I feel like thats a fine punishment. But, I may want to be a manager. Would like some further elaboration on hosts part on why I shouldn't have this priviledge/should be punished.
