    What keeps you playing PokeMMO?

    Hi im hawk and ive been "playing" pokemmo since 2012 (not really since i just play like every 6 months or so).

     

    I am just wondering what makes it so that you keep on logging on and playing every day? I already have a lvl 100 team and will beat emeralds E4 tonight but after that i just don't see what there is to play :/

    I remember when I had to moderate that thread on my phone, it was the worst thing ever lmfao. would have to hide some random shit-flinging post and by the time I'd finally manage to, there'd be 8 more posts replying to it. that thread was a big pile of poo

    I swear I saw somewhere in some changelog it said something along the lines of: "Bugging the Daycare man constantly will cause him to not give the egg until later". Or sumthin' like that. I may just have a false memory, but I swear I saw it before.

     

    You're correct, however that was removed.

    The Daycare Man will now withhold eggs from people who bother him too often.

     

    And the second changelog, https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/33704-changelog-23102013/

     

    The daycare man has accepted his fate and will no longer withhold eggs from their proper owners.

     

    I saw no mention of such a "feature" again after that changelog, so I'd assume he doesn't do that anymore 

    Turning a Pokemon ROM into an MMO?

    Hacking the ROM will have very little to do with your ability to turn it into an MMO.  The one thing it'll help with is general familiarity with the ROM (where things are, what pointers are, some assembly, etc) but the actual programming is pretty tricky.

     

    I was messing around with a single player version back in the eternal days (RIP in pieces) but it was a lot more work than I expected, so I dropped that shit.

     

    So no - not easy, unless you're a brilliant developer familiar with asynchronous development, ROM parsing, rendering, etc, etc...

    The biggest issue with this (and is the primary reason this has been rejected in the past, although I couldn't find the post) is the ability to get pokemon that have moves that they normally would not have access to at their level, or pokemon that straight up shouldn't exist at that level (level 50 Dragonite, for example).
