  1. Not every OS has Snap as part of it's install by default due to licensing (Linux Mint for example), There is also Flatpak for a similar deployment method.
  2. You're not the only one that has this problem with the Linux installer, I get the feeling it may be a Debian thing. If you happen to get anywhere with support, let me know too since I would much prefer to use a nice big screen instead of an android tablet.
