  1. I was muted for the first time ever today. Someone asked what STAB stood for and I randomly replied Same Type Attack **** (starts with Bone and ends with the letter a pirate says) and got a ten minute mute with no warning. I suppose I knew better, it wasn't a harsh duration mute, and I don't even talk more than once an hour/day so I didn't really feel the mute like the people that ride the global chat cooldown timer do. If it was like a really long mute, I would have expected a warning first since this wasn't habitual behavior, but oh well. It wasn't and I didn't get/need one. Due to the really brief duration, I guess it's fair. Whatever effort they had to do to make the mute would have got the same result out of me as a whisper saying to keep it appropriate however. Again, I had probably been logged on for at least an hour without saying anything before I randomly said that and got the insta-mute so maybe a bit heavy-handed. I think if everyone else wasn't triggering staff to have to give out mutes recently, what I said would have been overlooked and/or just warn whispered. I'll put on a brave face, won't cry, and let it go though. I think some staff are doing an okay job, but since they mostly work in whispers to control people, it's hard to tell how many are doing a "good job" and how many are AFK logged in overnight. Especially when I see people getting away with wrecking global chat for long periods without vanishing. However, I do wish bans were handed out more frequently upon people racking up multiple mutes over this week, but it's up to them to decide people's fate. I see people log on just to flame and troll. They get a free pass to do that for hours before finally vanishing for a day and returning and instantly go back to the same behavior so as long as that stuff gets nuked, I'll be happy to see them go or happy to see them shut down much more quickly than to ruin chat for so long before vanishing. TL;DR: The few I do see in public seem to do okay. I can't tell what the ones that lurk or work in whispers only do, so I'll just vote a couple are good. Not that all are bad. I'm just neutral to them since they make no noticeable impact from my point of view.
