1. I would probably removed the Sinnoh E4+Champion and Gym Leaders, but its a reasonable idea, Thing is, what if some people don't want to obtain a rom of HG/SS and thus can't use some of these 4th gen NPC Trainer sprites? Don't get me wrong, on paper this seems like a great idea as it allows for customized sprites for PvP use, but for those with only FireRed roms in the PMMO Rom folder, what do they see? I suppose it would be possible that in the same check sum for detecting a DS rom it would queue up 4th gen trainer sprites that are optional to display in PvP (have a setting in the settings menu that allows the players individually to set 3rd gen or 4th gen trainer sprites similar to the game client queue up the HG/SS pokemon sprites in battle)
2. Slot: Tops Image isn't mine, just something from google that had a hit linked to Ebay but doesn't have a view from the front (Dark Grey front with Smaller star with a "D" in the middle of it. Space Dandy's Jacket (And shirt, which is red)

3. Do entries have to be done in a fashion similar to the pokemon games, or could I take a screen shot from an overhead from another game, such as Minecraft, and use that as a submission? I ask because I am truly horrendous at bitmapping basically anything, I can't even properly shade a .bmp images like a shirt decently.
4. Fair enough, I can respect that counter point, though you also forgot Poke-Radar which was also 4th gen and provided a slight boost in shiny encounter (possibly a placebo effect due to encounter rates) provided you had chained an appropriate amount of the pokemon desired and even had a method devoted to maximizing the chain, a coin flip app that helped in manipulating the RNG for Shiny 3 IVd pokemon amongs other things. In the end though, and I realize this too, these shinies can't be transferred anywhere, they aren't like finding a shiny in a horde like In X/Y. (I still haven't completed the Kalos Dex, let alone the National Dex) so it isn't like these things are going to go anywhere anytime soon.
5. "This isn't a handhelds, this is an mmo." That's literally the go to logic for keeping an outdated economy system. cash is tradable outright, payday has been nerfed from a +50 per level to a rng based amount ranging as low as 130 to as high as 290 for a poke that uses it at level 55. In the end what value is the shiny that has basically one perfect IV and average IVs in all the rest compared to a perfect or near perfect IV pokemon? Are you really going to say that the Shiny has more value JUST because its shiny? To me that makes about as much sense as putting a 327 in a Volkswagen Beetle, or a six figure Chandelier in an abandoned low-income pre-fabricated home. If you think that just because a poke is shiny that it instantly becomes more valuable than a pokemon breed intentionally with competition and has value because the current (non-existant) meta is all but perfectly countered then either I'm blind or I just don't get the value of a 1:8+k rate of obtaining. Pre-breeding, yes I could see how shinies in general were valuable, but not with breeding implemented, not with the breeding mechanics as they are currently (Everstone passing nature while being held for example) The way I see it, more likely than not, a person breeding for IVs is more likely to encounter a shiny than a person just looking for shinies, again what value does a shiny have if all it can do is be a trophy in your PC instead of being shown off while kicking ass?
6. So, we're supposed to accept that shinies are rare and valuable for the purpose of an MMO when gen 5 implemented an item that literally devalued shinies by increasing their encounter/hatch rate just because that's how it was for Gen 3? So its okay to apply gen 5/6 effects to moves that had a different effect in gen 3, but never change the way shines are because "It'll hurt their value." Lets face it, odds are that there are going to be way more people breeding for IVs for a competitive build than there are for just getting shinies until Pokemmo (if it is still alive by then) reaches Black/White and Black 2/ White 2. Meanwhile, Matsuda Method has been around since 4th gen when Wi-fi/GTS trading was a possibility. "PokeMMO isn't regional" But we have the option to see multiple countries displayed by flags and language in the options. Quite clearly there is German (Deutsch) Spanish (Espaneol) to name a few, so why not have the game detect your location by using the ip address it registers that you've connected from and have the language option selectable but the region of the pokemon registered by the ip address the server recieves from you? IE Playing from an IP address that registers from Germany(Deustchland) but by choice have the readable text register as English?
7. Pretty sure that would tick off a lot of people that spent the time earning the cash for said vanity item, or purchased it with reward points from the gift shop.
8. FR/LG's "Catch and show me" event is a Heracross horn length contest. Its just unscripted currently.
9. If this is implemented, change our monster's cry to Gastly's cry like in R/B/Y as well. Just sayin.
10.
holy shit where the fuck do I even start with this... First of all, are you certain your numbers are right?... because unless the pokeMMO XP equation has been revealed to you there are at least 2 possible options. More specifically, we would need to determine exactly how the XP bonus from donor status interacts with the XP bonus from a lucky egg. As you can see below, the numbers differ somewhat depending on this. 1. XP bonuses from the egg and donor status are simply added together..totaling 75% additional experience: [ex. 1000 x 1.75 = 1750] 2. XP bonus from donor status is applied after (or before, doesnt really matter) the XP bonus of an Egg: [ex. (1000 x 1.5) x 1.25 = 1875] If the former is true the next XP gain is less significant, but still not insignificant. What boggles my mind is that you seem to think that comparing the impact of an egg to that of donor status means anything. I never said the donor status bonus is better than the egg bonus. You know why I didnt....because I know that 50% > 25%. HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!! Aint that something! You are getting caught up in comparing numbers, while ignoring what the difference in those numbers actually means. "oh look 1250 doesnt look too much bigger than 1000, what a miniscule difference donor status must make...herp derp" SO unless for some reason getting donor status precludes you from gaining XP bonus from an egg as well, your post is almost entirely moot. if the bonuses are additive, as in example 1 above, net XP gain from donor status is roughly 15%. If the bonuses are multiplicative, as in example 2...the the net XP gain is...wait for it....wait for it....25%. Neither 15% nor 25% are insignificant no matter how you slice it. What matters more in determining whether or not getting donor status is worthwhile (a different question entirely) is how long it takes, on average, to level a poke to 100. You say 2-3 hours.I am highly skeptical of this number, but even if its accurate one still stands to shave at least half an hour off of each go with donor status. If average leveling time is significantly higher, say 10 hours roughly, then one stands to save multiple hours, each fucking time. k..bro?
k, bro.
11.
The trade bonus is only 1.15x on PokeMMO.
Dammit man. Thank you for this though, now I can reprove that a simple straight 25% bonus is miniscule. Using same formula as above: 1036*0.25 = 259+1036= 1295*1.15 =1,489.25 *1.5= ~2,233.875
12.
On which planet is 25% not significant lol? Let me as you this...roughly how many hours do you think it takes to level a poke from say, 30 to 100?
Roughly 2-3 hours with the right method, and supposing you're able to run perfect grinding session exploiting the highest exp yielding pokemon, and even then it also depends on which of the exp growth rates the pokemon has. http://bulbapedia.bu...wiki/Experience So suppose you don't have an exp share on it and have a 25% boost from being a donor and marked as one. A pokemon granting 1000 exp will give out 1250 exp instead, simple math now, i know. Now let's jack it up a notch, exposure to an E4 poke, without an exp share or lucky egg, just that 25% bonus from a levle 30 poke getting experience from say Lorelli's Lapras at level 54. Let's say you're levelling a Butterfree, a medium fast poke. Thats going to be roughly what 1036 exp from the level difference alone? 1036*.25= 259+1036=1295. Still, a drop in the bucket versus what could be done with an egg or exp share. Now let's go with a 1.5x additional boost. 1295*1.5=1942.5 Let's suppose its a transferred poke to an alt that is at the E4, an additional 1.5x 1942.5*1.5=2913.75 That's a considerable difference in comparison to a simple 25% boost. That's a good chunk of an experience bar even at the high end of the spectrum.
13.
I dont necessarily agree with caricaturing (a la BruceWayne) as a means of criticism....but I feel the criticism is warranted. I would love to hear some acceptable reasoning for the cooldown....otherwise I am going to continue voice myself on this particular aspect. It is a big deal to me, and probably to a lot of others. The idea that limiting XP is good for the game is a huge load of crap. To me it is a clear, and almost subversive measure on behalf of the development team to goad players into purchasing donor status (for the + %XP, of course).
The bonus xp is neglible at best, its literally a measly +25% The best you can do with it is experience share or lucky egg a low levelled EV trained poke that you want to be in the 50's by making suicide runs, even then going to be what +15-20 levels depending on the poke?
14.
If someone wishes to use Ditto, they can. I included all available pokes that fit the criteria, regardless of usability.
Fair enough
The specifications are <20kg. So yeah, unfortunately that does disqualify him.
That and his Imperial weight is 44.1 lbs so while in Stadium he is useable, he's still over the weight limit as a whole on a technicality. In the end though, I'm looking at trying to reduce complaining from incompetence as much as I am looking forward to this tour. Looks like I'll be looking for a Paras to EV train up for this tourney though.
15. Unless Transform is fully patched by the time this tourney starts I'd suggest removing Ditto, this way no one whom "doesn't know" transform is not fully scripted yet decides to attempt training it and then bitches about it the day of because they simply did the lead off-switch out method of training/levelling.
16. I don't support this suggestion. Yes, the pokeflute is naturally able to perform the action of an awakening in the original game, but its also region locked to only the Kanto region in R/B/Y/G/LG/FR, beyond it, the blue flute reigns supreme along side of the awakening shop item, in terms of utility The blue flute as Dark has stated was movable up to Sinnoh, with the importing feature from hg/ss to Black and White negating the entire ablility to transfer held items at all. versus being a key item in a single region (Kanto) that immediately gets replace in the second gen by of all things a radio app that is only obtained during the shoe-horned in Kanto region sub-plot. In the end: Pros for the suggestion: Allows people to make use of the Pokeflute in wild and trainer battles for free. Cons for the suggestion: The last time I was here on the forums, there were complaints about players using items in the PvP meta game which was NOT in the original games at all. Until the Items being able to be used is fully disabled in PvP battles entirely I do not see this item being given its secondary usage.
17. I was under the impression that the TCG Expansion pokemon were considered "fakemon" and as a result auto ruled out things such as "Dark _______" and "(Gym Leader)'s ______.
18. My second draft is already up, complete with the Tauros/Marowak TM swaps and the to be voted on original TMs held as well.
19. That looks like an excellent, Tier list, I'm imagining the bottom half is the "more common" TM portion and the upper end is the "Ultra Rare" tiers?
20. "Google Drive Error" There should be an option under share where you can allow anybody with access to the link itself to view without permission, just can't alter it. EDIT:Error is that I'm signed in and don't have permission to access the doc, then tells me to either request permission to access or to sign in a different account.
21. Sure, I'll just do it on the document spread sheet provided and place it at the bottom. EDIT: Readded the google docs link. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmfXqI2KjpUFdEtmVnhDMlZfU3dqY3VKRlJtSTBSRmc
22. Should I flat out remove the Double Team TM since its a banned move in a majority of Meta games? I'll move Earth quake from Marowak and think on what TM should replace it (Though I've only made everything hold a TM 1% chance across the board) in the long run, probably swap Tauros holding Double Team with Marowak's Earthquake..
23. Wouldn't be impossible in theory, but I imagine it would be a pain to implement for coding purposes, I could also remove the ten percentile of held items since I had it there as a place holder and add a second 1% column. Just depends on what Desu and the devs can accomplish coding wise on top of what they've done for pokemon specifically so far.
24. But still miles better than having someone read it, fail to apply math and throw a uguu fit about false advertisement when its been purely incompetence.
25. Continued on, hit Staryu and realized that there aren't enough fire types available to cover the fire type TMs and an abundance of water types for two water TMs, as rediculous as it sounds, "solving" the issue by giving some pokes that have no reason for the Fire type TMs to have them for rough draft. Ultimately not proud of the solution though. EDIT: Made it publicly viewable via Google Docs, Can be viewed publicly but not edited, please leave feedback and inform me of any changes that could be made that would be more sensible, such as removing pokes that don't have a hold item AT ALL from the list entirely. (Roughdraft version is just to show that these are the only actively obtainable pokemon in the wild Link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmfXqI2KjpUFdEtmVnhDMlZfU3dqY3VKRlJtSTBSRmc
