Hello! Please open up the PokeMMO folder, navigate to the jre/bin folder and replace the "java.exe" and "javaw.exe" with the version that matches your installed client:

    64-bit version: https://dl.pokemmo.eu/download/windows-x64-patched.zip
    OR

    32-bit version: https://dl.pokemmo.eu/download/windows-i686-patched.zip

If you are not sure which version you have installed, please reinstall the game and use the matching bit version.

The easiest way to open the PokeMMO folder is to run the installer and click the "Open PokeMMO folder" after installing, or open the folder you installed to previously manually.

Then try to run the game again and let us know the result. Please let me know if you need any assistance with this. Thank you!

how about the good counter of volt switch?

Tyranitar is also ground but still affects Vswitch

Tyranitar is Dark-Rock type, not Ground, VoltSwitch hits it normally.

Volt Switch's ''Counter'' is all those Pokémon immune to this movement, so Garchomp, Gliscor, Excadrill, etc., are blockers of this movement.

(By counting in this case, we understand that its role is simply to annoy so that it cannot comfortably execute the movement, but special care must be taken of Hydro-Pump Rotom, so it is not a direct count of the Pokémon, only of the strategy and the momentum it generates)

  3. Well, weather-based teams focus on one that invokes that weather, and one or more that can exploit it. I see 2 that invoke but neither really exploit it. You have 2 pokes weak to water and grass, and another 2 that are weak to fire because they are steel. Added to this 2 weak to ground (Tar and Magnezone). I think you should focus more on not repeating so many types and try to build something with as many resistances as possible, if you add for example Serperior and Gastrodon as you said, you are excessively exposed to volcarona or serperior rivals with 1 turn more momentum than you , which would produce countless matchup losses with this type of mon.
I would suggest starting in PvP using something balanced without weather to learn the basic mechanics used in PvP, although if you want to use yes or yes sandstorm, it would be best to start with Ttar + Excadrill, while also trying to cover that weakness to ground and fight that provides you with that core.

I need to proof that 80 speed is low to Ou

Although Gallade's speed isn't high, I can't consider it an argument to define whether it's broken or not either, after all it surpasses mons like Metagross, Tar, Conk, Loom, Magnezone (No scarf, which is rare and I almost never saw , but according to this it represents 40% of the Magnezone used in OU), it goes to tie with Togekiss and Mamoswine... Although in the last case Mamoswine accesses Ice Shard, a cband set is forced to tie or change mon , and again, not having a safe count, this can mean losing 1 slot just trying to build momentum against Gallade... can you stop repeating the same thing?

  5. 18 hours ago, caioxlive13 said:

And what the hell I was doing all this time, comparing Gallade to other wallbreakers and exposing that they share the same weakness and those weakness given the state of our meta could be easily exploited?

All you did was say that Gallade was nothing more than mons like Darmanitan or Crawdaunt... It was more funny than debatable, honestly.

    * Volt switch can still trigger with Arena Trap or Block or Mean Look so virtually useless to counter unless you quickly dispose it

I don't see any Dugtrio out there to use Arena Trap, which can't stop the most used volt switch, Rotom, anyway. Since having Levitate as an ability, it can escape from Dugtrio.

Regarding Mean Look, from BW it does not affect Volt Switch, I do not know if it is the same here because it is practically not used.

In any case, the danger of volt switches is the momentum they generate, so I insist, it is important to have a ground type to stop this type of strategy (VoltTurn teams).

Regarding Gallade, they will ban him, so for the moment it is not necessary to have him controlled. We'll see if they give him a nerf or simply remove Sharpness.

  7. 35 minutes ago, caioxlive13 said:

Gallade have syndrome on 4-moveslot and on itemslot. They are using gallade's ban as windown to ask changes like PP nerf to be reverted, or some HA that can help tanks like Slowbro Regen, and they're doing that because they know staff and devs will do whatever are on their hands to keep mons out of ubers.

You talk as if Slowbro regen is really broken, or as if he could do something against Night Slash or Leaf Blade Gallade

Gallade gone, worst decision possible. Without doubt the argument to not ban was best.

"Gallade Broke a lot Walls" - and? Crawdaunt under a Rain also do that, Darma can do that. They are perfectly fine on metagaming.

I don't really understand your argument, at least it's funny.
Compare Gallade to Craw/Darmanitan? lol. First, Crawdaunt cband requires rain to be able to stand out as a wallbreaker, without it Amoonguss count it, and even though you crunch it and take 68% of it with maximum roll damage, when it comes out it recovers 1/3 of its total ps, and your opponent He already knows you got locked in a crunch, so with some kind of steel or fighting type, they got you under control (Even this is circumstantial, sometimes you won't even be able to predic to Guss, in which case he's accompanied by, I don't know... Shao, I doubt that you use crunch there having an obligation of acua jet).
Darmanitan can be controlled by Jellicent, Gastrodon, Milotic, or any monster, depending on which move is blocked for choice scarf/cband.

Now try to tell me a real counter to Gallade that is not Sableye WoW (Which by the way is solved by accompanying Gallade of any Dark Type).

Basically, I'm saying that Crawdaunt and Darmanitan can be almost as destructive as Gallade, the difference is that in the wrong hands they don't work as choice mons, instead, Gallade is crazy, any random can exploit it by spamming sacred/psychocut.

  9. I can't give you a complete picture of the team without knowing the movements and roles of each of your mons, but with the naked eye I can see that:

    - You don't have something immune to Volt Switch, so your matches against Volt-Turn teams will be completely comfortable for your opponents.

    - I don't see that you have anything capable of stopping Gallade (Cofagrigus doesn't really stop it, it's a check)

    - Certain mons used in the tier make you difficult (Dragonite + Lum berry to give an example)

    - You don't have a really good wallbreaker (unless Ttar is cb)

    - Some cores make your life too complicated (Shao + Guss, Gallade + Dark type, etc)

Before even if you play one or two bad moves with balanced, you could still win. Now, even the weakest bad move can cost the game.

What can be fixed with something as simple as playing well... The post is from a new player asking for advice for his team, what's the point of discussing this here?

I use Aerial Ace and works very well. Of course, it aren't too useful than before, because Conkeldurr's usage decayed a bit, mainly due to Breloom. But are still considerable and can caught volcarona and offensive grass on predicted switch-ins.

Pursuit catches Gengar and Starmie, I don't see the need to debate which is better, it's extremely obvious

  12. Hi.
The team doesn't see it as bad to start with, but anyway I would love to make some corrections to improve it a bit:

GLISCOR (poison heal) @ Toxic Orb.

    Nature: Jolly

    - Earthquake

    - U-Turn

    - Defog

    - Protect

This set looks good to me, just with an Impish nature, and I'd use stealth rock instead of defog, since Gliscor can't comfortably use defog against certain highly-seen mons like rotom, garchomp mixed, etc.

On 6/5/2023 at 4:50 PM, Aleventinove said:

    ROTOM WASH (levitate) @ Leftovers.

    Nature: Calm

    - Hydro Pump

    - Volt Switch

    - Will-o-wisp

    - Pain Split

I see this rotom as bold nature, it is the point of using WoW.
I would use WoW, Hydro Pump, Defog and Volt Switch, I think that would be the best alternative.
    Ev's: 252 HP / 166 Defense / 92 Speed

The EV spreads in speed are to overcome Scizor, be able to use WoW on it and leave it useless for the rest of the fight.

REUNICLUS (magic guard) @ Life Orb

    Nature: Bold

    - Psyshock

    - Focus Blast

    - Calm Mind

    - Recover

I don't see it well in this team, I think you should prioritize covering yourself with mons like volcarona, chandelure, etc.

I suggest you use a chansey, although it is true that Chandelure scarf can use a trick to exchange items, it is still a good option if you know how to play it.

    Bold Nature: 252 HP / 252 Defense / 6 SpDef, eviolite

On 6/5/2023 at 4:50 PM, Aleventinove said:

    SCIZOR (Technician) @ Choice Band

    Nature: Adamant

    - Bullet Punch

    - U-Turn

    - Close Combat

    - Aerial Ace

Choice band scizor uses pursuit, not aerial ace.

Using 2 cbands on the same team can still be dangerous for you though, I'll stick with Weavile and use this slot for something better.

If there is something you are missing is some special attacker, I could suggest you Hydreigon Choice scarf, Chandelure Choice Scarf, Hydreigon sub nplot, Gengar sub nplot, Chandelure sub calm mind, Togekiss calm mind + heal bell... It depends on your what you want use.

On 6/5/2023 at 4:50 PM, Aleventinove said:

    EMPOLEON (Torrent) @ Leftovers

    Nature: Calm

    - Scald

    - Toxic

    - Stealth Rock

    - Roost

In the slot I put this something that you are missing as well, a physical defender capable of dealing with Conkeldurr ice punch and other physical offensive with ice-type moves (Weavile, Metagross, etc).

I could suggest a Weezing rocky helmet for its capacity for neutralizate abilities, I see it as somewhat superior to, for example, Cofagrigus whose roles are similar.

    mischievous nature
    - Toxic
    - Flamethrower
    - Pain Split
    - Haze / Thunderbolt

The set with thunderbolt carries speed to overcome Pelipper bold, which would be about 44 EVs in speed, if you take it with haze this amount of speed is not necessary.

    WEAVILE (Pressure) @ Choice Band

    Nature: Jolly

    - Ice Shard

    - Icicle Spear

    - Night Slash

    - Low Kick

It's ok but chase him instead of low kick

Alternatives: Use Rotom Timid nature 252 HP/252 Speed with Hidden Power Fire/Ice instead of WoW.

As for the equipment, it is not the best equipment in the world, but it seems that you are just starting, so I gave you some things that are not complicated to use so that you learn how the game works while on the low ladder you lose. the fewest duels possible.

    Good luck!

I agree on tooking away 15 points of it's Attack stat because it aren't a lot and it would still be the best wallbreak of the OU. At same time, some mons will be out of 2HKO range and can help.

I meant that I did not see it very viable, I already corrected

  14. Perhaps the least invasive solution is to lower the power of sacred sword to something similar to psychocut, this way the pokemon would lose what is by far its most powerful stab without nerfing the rest of the characteristics too strongly (I know this would affect to other mons, which leaves me wondering).

I wouldn't see it as very viable to simply lower its base Atk stat, though that would nerf the SD set a bit, leave Agility, AV sets, or Choice Scarf Gallade sets very bad.

From my experience, I don't have a problem with Gallade currently, but I would understand the point of other players being heavily affected by this mon.

Was. PP nerf changed everything. Now Stall even if vs Balanced or Stalls remain the same, can't hold the pressure of Offenses anymore. Outside of UU, where slow play was and always will be dominant, there is no meta that play with stall will work too well. Balanced Survived only because of regenerators. And now we have the insane powerhouse called Gallade. Can't break through offenses but slow teams lose immediatly if don't had a dugtrio.

I don't see it the same way, the defensive teams, although they have lost momentum due to pp nerf, are still perfect if you have a good build and enough head to avoid wasting pp's unnecessarily, it is a control game and therefore requires precision when deciding each turn (As in fact, any other type of equipment)

  16. Ok, first I will answer some questions that were important to me, they pointed out, then I will give my point of view of the team in general

    18 hours ago, UnfunnyMan said:

    - This team is both for going though the entire game and for competitive, which is why Xatu has Fly

First of all, this approach is wrong, in PvE you can use a PvP team, but in PvP you have to have a team totally focused on it, or you will lose any duel easily.

    15 hours ago, caioxlive13 said:

    -  The reason Swampert has Dive is because at first i thought it would be good to avoid SolarBeam, but honestly you're right; Waterfall would be better overall since i could just switch out before the attack

Solar Beam isn't even considered a meta move in pvp, the only one I would see that could use it would be Charizard sun abuser, but it's used so little that it's not even in OU

Well, I'll give a little analysis of your team to give you some idea of what to improve.

    - I'm guessing your idea is a typical screen team with a misconception, since there isn't any support lead that can use Stealth Rock (Skarmory, Garchomp, Aerodactyl, etc, etc, etc). Being a screen team, a structure with 1 screen lead, 1 stealth rock lead, 1 offensive spinner would be expected (Any pokemon with ''Rapid spin'' is a Spinner, the most common cases: Starmie/Excadrill) and therefore last, offensive with the ability to boost (Sword Dance, Dragon Dance, Nasty Plot, etc).
Already from this point we can see that the biggest problem is the lack of knowledge of the metagame, so I suggest that you use the PvP statistics tab, there you can see the most used pokemon in the month.
Going back to the team, I notice some clear weaknesses: Ludicolo/Kingdra in rain, Venusaur in sun, Serperior, Rotom Wash, to some extent Garchomp (You can do something against him with Swamp, but... Meh), to some extent Weezing also gives you complicates.

I have 2 useful tips that I think will help you:

1- Do not limit yourself to wanting to use a pokemon because "you like it" since, in competitive, there are some pokemon that no matter how you look at it, they are useless (Gardevoir is a clear example in OU), however, you can use in some format that performs well (This same pokémon, performs somewhat well in Doubles, for example).

The second tip is to check the statistics tab of the tier you want to play (They are in the PvP tab of the game), this is an important help for new players, since it gives information such as which are the most used pokemon and how often they are seen, what nature is the most used in them, what item is the most used, what teammates they usually take... I think it is a fundamental tool for every new player in Competitive.

On the other hand, my advice regarding the build is that you do it from the beginning based on Espeon, with the concepts that I have given you about how a screen team is generally used in the OU tier.

I hope it helps you, any questions, you know... You answer or something like that

    Have a good day

  17. Well, personally I have not lost anything with the gracídeas, but I have seen that the reduction in the sale price of this item to NPCs has affected many players who farmed with this method.

So I thought: how could it be less harmful? Well, the following occurred to me.

Instead of lowering the sale price, I think the best thing to do would be to generate fewer gracídeas for each plantation, in this way players who have a dozen stacks could still sell them at the previous price, they would not lose anything, and the farming of the item would be the same it would be rubbish as it currently is.
