  1. Everything in the gift shop can also be purchased for in-game currency with the exception of amnesia brace. You don't need to spend a dollar to obtain 99% of what RP shop has to offer. You are also not obliged to pay anything to play the game as it's completely free to play, so how exactly is it pay2play?
  2. This exact conversation already happened in the thread I hyperlinked. What do you mean by 'exclusive items'?
  3. That's what capitalism is and there is nothing wrong with it. This was already addressed in the latest patch notes in the form of berry nerf and while it didn't fully fix inflation, it's a first step in the right direction. Nerfing berries further isn't the way to go either imo, I believe introducing new yen sinks in upcoming content instead is the best way to balance yen influx. By 'everyday player', are you referring to a casual player/newcomer? If yes, what's wrong with this person also having to commit thousands of hours to catch up to someone who has also been playing for an extended period of time? Besides, how exactly are they hindered? Moneymaking methods are available to everyone equally. If someone wants to drop money and take a shortcut it's their decision and it's ultimately what pays for the servers that we play on. If you have a better idea on how to monetize the game to keep it going, please do share, but this doesn't make the game 'pay-to-win', nor 'pay-to-play'. 3 things are going to happen: 1) People will store any yen beyond 200m on alt(s). 2) People will put even more money into limiteds, pumping their price even higher as a result, thus becoming even more unobtainable to the 'everyday player'. 3) High table trades will become very obnoxious, since trading anything worth over 200m becomes impossible in a single trade and people will have to either do multiple trades instead, or trade in things, which is literally what yen is intended for in the first place. I don't see how this fixes the 'broken economy' as it doesn't address the core problem, just forces a needless restriction onto a rich minority. Reintroducing old limited vanities was previously discussed here quite extensively and it's a terrible idea, regardless if they would be tradable or not. The post on page 1 by @awkways explains why pretty well. This will not 'drastically nerf' the value of these items, it will completely destroy it. Anything that is untradable is objectively worthless, the only value this item would have is the owner's sentimental price tag on it. ? We already have ultra rare shinies in the game.
  4. 1) Nintendo doesn't like the idea of an official Pokemon MMO and seeing as their business model hasn't changed at all since the late 1990s, I highly doubt they are gonna pull a 180 and go in a completely different direction. 2) As long as it stays in alpha it shouldn't be a problem, even if they did release an official MMO.
  5. #23 please. Also, happy birthday dude.
  6. What's the reason behind this? AFAIK this is not the case for other mon that have a pre-evolution available through an incense.
  7. I downloaded the latest version and replaced the old one, but it's still oversized for me, anyone had the same issue?
  8. Dazuzi VS HedgeWitch Dubs 50 Mins from when this was posted.
  9. I have seen people offer over 1b in pure cash very recently for a colored one, so if you genuinely want to sell it you won't have a hard time.
  10. Was there ever an event that you couldn't just launch and play?
  11. Yes, that is the literal definition of 'raising over time', lol. That's directly connected to the player base rapidly expanding during this timeframe, the accelerated economy affected the items with the lowest supply the most drastically. You're confusing 'investing' and 'manipulation'. Buying multiple of an item X for the sole purpose of making money out of it eventually is not 'manipulation', unless you singlehandedly push the price up by a large percentage within a very short period of time, only to dump it all shortly after, which I have yet to see happen in this game. If they were truly manipulated, there would be much higher and more frequent volatility than there currently is. Same thing happens when someone gets lucky and finds a rare shiny. This case just requires time and frozen capital instead of RnG.
  12. Yeah, it doesn't matter much as I mentioned, the point was that I don't understand why they pivoted from the 'pick your type' option in favor of RnG. It's just my personal preference to have an objective based event, rather than another NPC battle. Seeing Entei is definitely cool though. I agree, linear scaling is unrewarding and the curve should be adjusted.
  13. To me personally, this event feels like a major downgrade and I want to share my thoughts as to why I think it doesn't work nearly as well as the previous one, so I will mostly be comparing it to the Christmas event 2018 since the mechanics and the core idea are very similar. I am aware that there was obviously less time to make this event happen, but it still feels very rushed and lackluster. Issue 1) The location: Not a good choice, it's far too small, plus it's essentially a 1-way path, which takes away any decision-making whatsoever and becomes stale very quickly. Now compared to the Christmas event, the location was way better, there were multiple paths to get to a specific point and even a few layers, this forces the player to plan their path, thus engages the player to think and be creative. Issue 2) The objective There is simply none - I don't consider killing Entei as a real 'objective', as it is just another battle, this personally takes away my whole incentive to run it in the first place, because I don't feel as I am making any progress, but just running around instead. Now compared to the Christmas event, there were multiple objectives, that players had to 1. find; 2. choose when to pick them; 3. decide how to get to them - this creates depth and offers some strategic choices, thus providing the longevity that the event needs, there is almost none of this in the Lunar event, it's been a day and a half and I am already more bored from it than after doing the Christmas event for 7 days. Issue 3) RnG at the beginning This is the smallest issue by far, but it still bugs me, mainly because a different idea already worked well on the Christmas event, but then was changed for a worse alternative. The players get a random pokemon at the beginning, removing any input from the player in favor of pure RnG and it just ends in people resetting the instance until they get a good pokemon to get going - RnG can be a positive addition when used correctly, but it doesn't make sense in this case. Now compared to the Christmas event, people were given multiple options at the beginning and had the ability to choose their typing, thus allowing people to be creative and think about their combo synergies, and even though it wasn't perfect, it's still a better alternative that just requires a bit more balancing to truly shine. I understand seasonal events aren't supposed to be complex and that some people might think that I am overthinking it, but I still felt like sharing some constructive criticism. That being said, I don't think many people expected to have a Lunar event at all and I am glad that the event list is expanding beyond Christmas and Halloween, but if we do get them more frequently, they could use more depth to keep them fun and engaging.
  14. Yes, and there will never be a new one, as opposed to the billions and billions of in-game cash floating around + millions generated on a daily basis - so I am not really sure why these items only raising over time is such an ungraspable concept for you. ? Yes it does. There is a limited supply and a high demand as they are not only a good investment, but also protect your wealth from inflation, thus resulting in a slow but steady price increase, this couldn't be more simple honestly. Yes, there is some manipulation involved, but that only accelerates the process, which will only create volatility in the end, since the second people push them too high too fast, more people start cashing out, bringing the price back down. And your point being? You ever tried buying a discontinued real-life item from eBay? Check how much Elon Musk's limited flamethrowers cost at the moment. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this.
  15. So listing multiple of the same item at a regular market price is 'manipulation' now? He probably did it one by one to avoid creating a single big listing that would quickly get undercut by others selling lower quantities. Besides how do you want to manipulate an item with infinite supply and a fixed crafting price? I don't think you fully understand what market manipulation actually is. If you are referring to hyperchaser's thread from a couple months ago, then the 'supply and demand' argument was used to explain the decreasing price of shinies, not the increasing price of vanities.
  16. While I personally don't see Togekiss as OP, the way he's played is so extremely RNG based, monotone and just plain frustrating to deal with. There is not a lot of decision making and in most cases you just press air slash, pray and repeat, so I think 'unhealthy' describes it pretty well. I have seen quite a few run aura sphere, which makes magnezone not really a viable option, however a niche careful special wall dragonite with haze and roost deals with it pretty well - but then again if you run it and the opponent doesn't have a togekiss it's pretty useless. I don't think removing it from the OU tier would change the meta at all, just a lot less people would get headaches from RNG.
  17. I don't know what part of Darkshade's post, in which he answered all the questions you do not get, but I am not going to repeat it to you just because you have an understanding capability of a 9 year old. This thread is not your personal complaint folder. You have said the same complaint in 6 different ways up to this point, and nobody cared after the 2nd time you said it. You want new content over everything else and you are impatient, everyone gets it, but your repetitive posting adds no value to this discussion whatsoever and is just annoying.
  18. Speaking from personal experience, OG Runescape tried this exact same idea in a form of bonus xp weekends to attract new players, but it just ended in everyone stacking supplies and then doing 14 hour marathons only to do nothing until the next one arrived. It sounds like a good idea on paper, but it's actually quite bad in reality.
