2. Special thanks to @Robombol for promotional artwork 中国用户,请访问此链接 HeartGold/SoulSilver The Johto region is now available, featuring a new storyline with several bosses to challenge This region requires a HeartGold/SoulSilver ROM to function. Players who have already installed these ROM files for visual changes don't need to do anything. For Johto, disobedience works separately from your badge count. While badges will increase your disobedience level along your journey, other key storyline events can too. You'll receive a notification when your disobedience level changes and you can always check it in your Trainer Card. To start this region's adventure, create a new character or visit the Ferry Captain in your current region Apricorns can be found in this region. These can be used to create several new classes of balls: Moon Balls may be crafted for $1,000 + a Yellow Apricorn. These offer 4.0x catch rate for species trees which can be evolved with a Moon Stone. Fast Balls may be crafted for $1,000 + a White Apricorn. These offer 4.0x catch rate for species with 100 base Speed or higher. Heavy Balls may be crafted for $1,000 + a Black Apricorn. These offer a catch rate with the following formula: 1.0x for species with < 100kg weight 2.0x for species with < 200kg weight 3.0x for species with < 300kg weight 4.0x for species with >= 300kg weight Friend Balls may be crafted for $1,000 + a Green Apricorn. These offer a catch rate of 2.5x for species trees which have a Happiness evolution in them. They also greatly increase happiness (to 78%) upon capture. Lure Balls may be crafted for $1,200 + a Blue Apricorn. They offer a 4.0x catch rate for encounters which occur with a Fishing Rod (including Phenomena and special Feebas encounters). Love Balls may be crafted for $1,350 + a Pink Apricorn. They offer an 8.0x catch rate for encounters which are of the same species tree, but of the opposite gender. These don't work against genderless species. Level Balls may be crafted for $1,350 + a Red Apricorn. These offer a 4.0x catch rate for targets which are the same level as your active party member's. Voltorb Flip is a minigame which can be found in the Goldenrod Game Corner Players who win Level 8 of this minigame will receive an exclusive reward Special encounters can occur when using Headbutt on trees in Johto. Once disturbed, these trees will need to be left alone for a while before a new encounter can occur. Mt. Silver is an optional end-game area which can be visited after defeating every region's Elite 4 and completing the National OT Dex. Exclusive rewards await inside. The National OT Dex requirement only applies to species which are normally visible. It does not include special monsters which are time-limited, such as Shaymin, nor overworld legendary events. Special surprises await! 8. 2 months ago, a few of our more attentive players noticed that March 29th 2022 would be the 10th anniversary of the forums coming online. As a brief history lesson for everyone, the first public test of the game started a few weeks later in April 2012, then the "alpha" (now known as PokeMMO Epsilon™) was released in June 2012. While originally we were just planning on a large content update to commemorate the date, maybe throw in some massive tournament or something, we had the brilliant idea to instead make a one-time event outside of what we call "event season"- the period of Halloween/Christmas/Chinese New Year where we normally don't permit large, breaking changes so as to not interrupt the events by leaving you with an unplayable video game. "Get hyped" we said, because it'd be good. Then, despite our better judgment, we doubled down by not only giving ourselves a deadline to come up with something and get it out, but a public deadline. Several in fact, and we've managed to blow all of them in a fantastic fashion. Today marks the date of our 4th deadline being missed, and I'm happy to announce that we're commemorating this feat of project logistics by releasing the Torch & Pitchfork Seasonal items. These items will be available until the next update releases. We expect that to be Soon™ish, probably around Two Weeks™, but we're giving ourselves some leeway so we don't need to make more announcements about announcements. When we get there, this will also be an unusual update process. We'll be breaking it into a 3 part series: The major, fragile changes will occur before the event. This will be our launch of the open beta iOS client, general changes like moveset updates, bug fixes, and a large suite of scripting changes to help us support future regions. A few days later, after we're sure that the game's not completely busted, the event will start. Finally, after the event ends, a new permanent feature will launch. We'll keep that one a surprise for now. Until then, See you Soon™!

When no berry is held, typing is now considered "???" and will show no label. Fixed an issue where Wide Guard / Quick Guard increased Protect-type moves' failure percentage if they failed to be used Fixed an issue where, if a player used a Repel while a Lure was very close to ending, they could be spammed with many messages about lures wearing off Players can no longer unbind essential hotkeys (A/B/Up/Down/Left/Right) Multiple Gracidea can now be used at once Fixed Curse/Protean's interaction Curse is now targetable in double battles Chatter is no longer blacklisted by Me First Encore can no longer call Sleep Talk Sleep Talk can no longer call Nature Power or Chatter Mimic can no longer call Metronome, Mirror Move, Transform, Struggle, Sleep Talk, Nature Power, Assist, Me First, Copycat, Chatter, or Fling Fixed an issue where Encore's targeting behavior could fail if the user-selected move was not the same as the encored move Fixed an issue where Encore's turn count would be shortened by 1 if used after the target already moved Fixed an issue where Sap Sipper would not suppress secondary stat drop effects of moves such as Leaf Storm Fixed an issue where, if logging out while placing a decoration item in Secret Bases, the client would pretend it's still placing an item upon reconnecting Fixed an issue where Fancy Butterfly Wings' lighting effects wouldn't work properly in GBA regions Fixed an issue where Skill Swap would cause abilities to be activated if it failed to be used Transform now affects the weight of the user Fixed an issue where a Golduck Alpha Swarm in Unova would not be interactable Magic Room now negates Choice item selections Fixed an issue where, when fainting a wild encounter with Sticky Barb with a contact move, the item would not be retained Fixed an issue where, when using Trick against an opponent which had the same Choice item, it would lock the move selection after usage Rules for held item retention against wild encounters have been standardized Previously, held item retention was implemented differently per-move. This led to different behavior depending on what move was used, such as how Trick would never allow held items to be obtained from wild encounters. In general, players are now able to retain a wild encounter's held item as expected if their original held item was destroyed (through consumption or Fling), if they captured the opponent, or if they had no held item at the start of the battle. Wild held items are not retained if the player would have destroyed an Untossable item, or a permanent, non-consumable battle item (such as a Choice Band) Sweet Scent is now used immediately after being prompted to refresh it with a PP item Fixed Trick's message broadcast order Fixed an issue where swapping positions of a party member in a battle box would eat the entry for the target slot Fixed an issue where Darmanitan, while in Zen Mode, would incorrectly use base stats instead of calculated stats for damage calculations Fixed a targeting error which would occur if Rattled was activated by Intimidate The Alpha dex now properly shows Glameow / Lillipup evolution lines (released in LNY 2023) Special Notes Items which were marked with the tag "This item is event-bound. It will become untradeable after this seasonal event is over, and will be deleted at a later date." have been deleted in this maintenance period. This pruning will occur automatically for future events. HeartGold/SoulSilver support is still in-progress. We expect to announce a public test server event for it Soon™

  11. Hi everyone, The next game update will feature a wide list of changes for PvP players. This will include a general balancing patch, refinement of most PvP systems in the game, and refinement of management tasks like move tutoring. ==== Automated PVP Updates Matchmaking will see a suite of changes, including updated reward structures, a seasonal based matchmaking ELO system, and features to encourage more tier participation. For reward structures, we have shifted the BP-based rewards to a streak-based approach. Over the years, we've been hesitant to include an automated Forfeit function in structured PvP due to the potential of encouraging poor quality matches where people forfeit while a match is still winnable. To counter this, players are now more encouraged to stay in a match at risk of losing their streak bonus, and additional bonuses are given if you're fighting an especially well ranked player. Matchmaking ELO decay has been another problem which we let stagnate over the years, which will be resolved by a season system for ELO. Seasons will last 3 months (the first season after the update's deployment will be slightly shorter due to updating in the middle of a season) and will perform a hard reset of ELO once over. Each Season will be capped off by an automated tournament exclusive to the top players of each tier's leaderboard, winners of which will receive exclusive items. To encourage UU/NU tier participation, we've introduced exclusive rewards for all tiers. Players may now also queue for multiple tiers in Matchmaking simultaneously, with a battle box assigned to each tier. Automated Tournaments have seen some attention. Tournament rewards will be more versatile in their choices, allowing for Gender selection & selectable IVs with any value (0~31). PokeMMO's Game Masters may also choose to give stacks of items, vanity items, or BP in future tournaments too. (Note that these changes only apply to future tournaments, not ones which have already been scheduled, or rewards which have been already mailed to players). On the small side, players will now be able to spectate others while queueing for matchmaking & tournaments with no fear of missing their queue. We'll now automatically shift from Spectate mode to Battle mode when a match is found. Battle Boxes are now also less terrible to manage, and can be assigned and changed more easily in the PC UI. ==== Generation 8 Updates With the introduction of Gen 8, many moves have had updated functionality increasing their versatility. Move changes will be included where applicable (Teleport, Rapid Spin, Healing Wish, Fling, and Howl), as well as ability changes (Intimidate, Moody) and egg group updates for a few species trees. This changeset also introduces Gens 1 & 2 TM moves to the relevant species, and Gen 7 changes which we'd omitted until now, including Gen7-3 (LGPE) movepools and missing mechanical changes to Gengar's ability, and the Prankster ability. Movepools for all species have been updated in some way or another, and the changes are far too numerous to note. In general, Gen 8 has priority over all other changes, then additional moves are processed from there. ==== Movepool Management Updates Those knowledgeable with earlier Gens & Gen 8 will notice that we are introducing a slew of new TMs- over 100, actually. This large bulk of items necessitated that we look at how we can better the move learning systems, and we've focused on streamlining the gain of renewable moves. Each region will now host an NPC in every healing center you come across, which will offer to teach you all of the Tutor moves that a region can offer, if you've acquired 8 badges in that region. 4 Shard-based "Regional Move Master" tutors are present in the game, 1 for each region, allowing you to learn regional-exclusive moves for a Shard+Item-based feed. Each of them is also accompanied by a Move Deleter & Relearner NPC. Prices for Relearners will also now more properly reflect the value of the move being relearned. All regions now have a store which will sell every TM in the game in their respective department stores, after you've completed its storyline. Redundant tutor data for all tutors has been removed, meaning no more TM / Tutor overlap. For GBA areas, NPCs with single-move move tutor scripts (e.g. Dream Eater) will now simply give untradeable TMs. Older Shard tutors have been removed entirely, and their moves redistributed as either TMs or into the newer Shard tutors. Overall, we feel it should be much easier to keep track of and learn. ==== This overview is not comprehensive, but covers the most important things we'll be changing this update. 12. This is Part 1 of PokeMMO's 10th Anniversary 3-patch series. Click here to see what released in Part 2! Features PokeMMO for iOS PokeMMO is now available for iOS 11+ as a 3rd-party IPA package 3rd-party applications on iOS require sideloading for functionality. Please visit this link for installation instructions via Altstore.io 中国用户,请访问此链接 This client is currently in Beta. Several issues are currently known and are being worked on: iOS keyboard changing may be slightly delayed iOS "Display Zoom" mode does not always render correctly Various audio issues are currently present. These may include audio stopping for no apparent reason, and audio being delayed For additional issues, please report them to https://support.pokemmo.eu/ Rotation Battles "Rotation Battles are similar to Triple Battles in that three party members in each team are sent onto each side. However, they are sent out onto a circular platform. The platform can be rotated in either direction without wasting a turn. Strategy revolves around predicting which party member the opponent will select and switching to the appropriate counter on the player's side." Added Rotation Battles to duel/tournament options and enabled the battle type for relevant NPCs Movepools have been updated to Gen 8-5 (including changes from BDSP & LA). New moves are summarized below: Randoms has been updated to include Generation 4 species Some Limited addons now have animated profile sprites Phenomena may now occur more frequently Phenomena and Swarms now last slightly longer when spawned Darmanitan Statues now occasionally reappear in Desert Resort of Unova Honey Trees now allow multiple layers of Honey to be applied, to attract more foes at a time Using Sweet Scent without enough PP will now prompt to replenish it with an available item (Leppa/Ether/etc.) Unova now includes Rock Smash encounters Unova now has a Rock Smash HM, available where the previous TM was distributed. These options have been re-enabled Android: Fixed a zombie process which would stay in the Recent Tasks menu if exiting the game via the Exit button Android: Fixed an incompatibility with Android 13 which could result in game accounts being temporarily banned for client tampering Android: Fixed an issue where Mods could get stuck when importing if the user closed the application before the import was completed. 15. If you like it then please leave a like, thanks. UPDATE: JANUARY 13, 2013. As you may or may not know, yes, I did quit. After seeing that people are still interested in this guide I am beginning to feel guilty that I have not updated it. Thank you for all the views and thanks over the months, seeing some stupid thing I typed up being received that well and just getting viewed this much blew my mind! If you're going to be in the Sevii islands use Squall's guide: Link I'd like to ask that mods consider pinning the other EV guides as well since it's a whole different game from when I played. I'd hate to just straight up delete this thread but it's probably obscenely out of date and probably should be replace by a guide that someone else has written that is up to date. You'd know better than I would about it being informative. Before you get started you may like to know what EVs actually are. EV stands for 'effort value'. 4 Evs will increase a pokemon stat by 1 point, the maximum amount of EVs in a stat is 255 but the recommended maximum is 252 so you can use the remainder points in another stat. If you want a full guide and explanation of what EVs are you should check somewhere else like bulbapedia. If you have never played pokemon competitively before and would like to learn more about sets and EV spreads then I would recommend checking out smogon. They have all you need and more on basic cookie cutter sets. (Sorry for everyone who just cringed) Also, do not make the mistake of EV training a bad natured pokemon. For example an adamant abra. If you are going to sink the time into EV training, then you need to catch a pokemon with a nature complimentary to the stats you want. For example again a timid alakazam is perfect, as you will be EV training it for SpA and Spe. Here is a link to my preferred natures chart. The - stands for a subtraction of 10% and a + represents a subtraction of 10%. As you can see if you look at the chart timid adds to speed and subtracts from attack. You can also hover your mouse over the pokemon's nature in the pokemon summary to show what it does. I don't like to rely on that, though. Sometimes it's unresponsive. This is a list of all the places to train EVs. It will tell you what pokemon will give what EVs and where to find them as well as their levels. I will ammend it as new content is released. If you see something wrong, let me know. Even I, the great and powerful Galium-sama-rama-chan-san-kun make mistakes. Also, this is not a natures or how to EV train thread. That's another show guide. You would be surprised what doesn't give the EVs you thought it would (like weedle, speed what?) The recommended pokes to train on and the best area to find them will be bolded and highlited in red. Stat Recommended Area Level of pokemon Health (HP) Fat things give HP EVs and it's no coincidence that there is a fat guy sitting next to the pond in viridian. Before surf - Caterpie. After surf - Slowpoke. The pond has only slowpoke and psyduck, so you can get some SpA while you get HP. 1 HP EV Viridian Forest Lv. 3-5 Clefairy 2 HP EVs Jigglypuff 2 HP EVs Nidoran (F) 1 HP EV Snorlax 2 HP EVs Slowpoke 1 HP EV Ditto 1 HP EV Grimer 1 HP EV 1 HP EV Viridian City (surf) Lv. 20-35 Attack (Atk) Of course slaughtering hugging super kawaii desu ne bugs with big eyes makes you stronger. Why wouldn't it? And if you're wondering "Why paras?" it's because they appear at a 100% rate in the tunnels. An alternate area is behind the safari zone warden's house in fuchsia. Fishing there will always land you a goldeen, seaking or gyarados. (Thanks Tsriel.) Watch out for the psyducks, though. If you want to keep your level low for tourneys, you need to stay at paras. 1 ATK EV Mt. Ditto also appear in the same area (and the pokemon mansion basement at a 10% rate) as venonat so you can proceed to catch those in hopes of good natures for breeding (someday). The venonats appear on routes 13, 14 and 15, I recommend going to route 15 for the tasty dittos and close proximity to the pokecenter. After you get surf you can encounter tentacools and it's much easier to grind those than it is to grind venonats. And no, you can't surf into tentacruel until post game. If you're supereffective against ground go to diglett tunnel. If you're weak to ground and will die to a dig train on route 18 and grind on the birds and rats. If you are a ground type you can go to the powerplant, just avoid the magnemite and magneton as they give SpA. You can put a level 23 pokemon in the front of your party and use one repel to only encounter dugtrio if you want. Heck, even zubat has a use sometimes. Gotta go fast. 16. Hi there, As you can tell by the title I have recently been working on a UI Redesign Concept for PokeMMO. I have a lot of previous graphic design experience, and one of the fields I enjoy working on the most is GUI design. I really enjoy PokeMMO, however at times I feel that the UI can be frustrating to navigate, and although the current UI does fit with the game pretty well. I feel like it could be a lot more modernized, clean and generally more optimized for ease of access and better appearance, which is what I have attempted to do here. I first thought about making a theme, however after looking into it and reading some forum posts I realized that it would restrict a lot of what I was hoping to change, so I decided to make a full-blown concept instead for a new more engaging and pleasing UI. I would like to clarify that this is NOT a theme/mod It is only a concept and at the moment there is no way to FULLY implement this into the game. I am considering making a theme or possibly a mod that allows for the complete changes and additions I have made to be included properly, however that would take some time and research so I decided to get some feedback from the community first. Below are some of the screenshots of the concept UI as well as comparisons (mine on the left) with the current UI being used in the game. (I am in no way criticizing the current UI) however I do believe some things could be changed and optimized for a more user-friendly clean experience. The current UI does an amazing job at sticking with the classic retro Pokémon look, but in my opinion PokeMMO is growing into a more vast and complex game that incorporates the classic feeling of the original Pokémon games and also that of an amazing MMO and believe the UI should also branch towards that. Feel free to look through the screenshots, the UI is not fully completed and a lot of things are still in the works, (such as a Login Screen, Store Menu, Breeding Menu and more.) This is what I have completed so far; Pokémon Summary Character Inventory / Bag Hotbar / Toolbars Global Trade Link Trainer Card PC Deposit Box Party Bar Chat Box Minimap (New) Top Left Display Battle Screen I would appreciate any feedback/suggestions or general opinions from the community and let me know what you would like to see for future concepts! Full Redesign Battle Screen Pokémon Summary Character Inventory / Bag Trainer Card PC Deposit Box Party Bar Hotbar Toolbar Chat Box Minimap (New) Top Left Display Global Trade Link I should also say that the concept UI at the moment uses a blue accent, but I would make this user-customizable for a range of colors (including dark). I am also considering on making a webpage of sorts that will showcase the full UI and allow users to interact with it as they would in game, this would help showcase the changes I have made behind the scenes along with animations and any new updates I make, let me know if that's something you would be interested in. Thanks for reading!

  18. Battle Sprites Reloded The purpose of this mod was to make a more vibrant mod that utilizes real-time lighting and shadows. Each Pokémon is set to a scaled height multiplied by their actual Pokedex height. Downloading this mod is not obligatory. If you don´t like any part of it then change it, make your own or use another one. I endorse Verdep's HD Battle Sprites. Update Progress - Complete Game Developer Bugs (I can't change these) Versions (Read Well) Patch Notes (Latest: Version 2.2) I hope you all enjoy the mod. If you don´t, feel free to use Verdep´s. I think his is great. Many thanks to EdRaket, GoKickRocks, NimbleHydra, PrincessLolita, and Realmadrid1809 for making this mod what it is.

  24. 中国用户请访问此链接 Alpha Swarms Alpha Swarms have been spotted in the wild! Alpha Swarms are rare swarms. These formidable minibosses can be found once per in-game day and will wait for challengers for 1 hour. But, don't wait too long! They're very hard to catch. Alphas always have the Hidden Ability attribute and always have high IVs. Secondary encounters around the Alpha also have a small chance to have their Hidden Ability. Alphas will let you retry a battle if you lose. Even if you don't end up capturing the Alpha, you'll be rewarded with EXP Candy if you can defeat it. A new menu in your Dex has been added to keep track of Alphas as they're spotted. Check back frequently to see what's been released! Swarms are now broadcast to the Town Map when active Prismatic Pearls Prismatic Pearls allow you to shift the Hidden Ability attribute from one party member to another. But, they only work for members of the same species tree. Baron Moray is a man with expensive taste. He'll only trade you Prismatic Pearls in exchange for a Shiny. Shinies can be valued anywhere from 4 to 28 Pearls each depending on the rarity, with special bonuses for Shiny Alphas and Secret Shinies. Moray can be found in: Celadon City Hotel Lilycove City Motel Valor Lakefront, near the Seven Stars Restaurant Undella Town, by the beach New Items Assault Gear has been added to Battle Point vendors everywhere Assault Gear is an item which increases the holder's Special Defense by 50%, but prevents them from using Status moves. The Training Link has replaced the Amnesia Brace The Training Link doubles EV gain and allows its holder to gain EVs even if they don't participate in a battle. But, the holder can't gain any EXP while holding it This item is Account-bound. It can be traded between characters on an account, but it can't leave the account Players who had an Amnesia Brace have had their item automatically replaced with the Training Link UI Changes Mobile: The UI for the Dex has been updated to more closely reflect the Desktop client's layout. Desktop: The Bag UI has been improved. Misc Gameplay Changes Trainer data has been updated with new abilities introduced in the 24/06/2022 Update Mysterious Gems are now known as Mysterious Gem Clusters. Upgrade steps are below: Windows: Standard Installer: No action is necessary for the standard Windows installer. The game will automatically update with the required libraries. Portable Zip: Users who are using the portable (.zip) packaging may need to update their system libraries manually. macOS: Update the macOS Installer to the latest version (v47) if prompted. Linux: Snapcraft.io Packaging: Java 17 has already been deployed for Snapcraft platforms. If you're unable to start the game, update the package manually by entering this command into a terminal: sudo snap refresh pokemmo Others: Consult your distribution's documentation for how to remove OpenJDK 11 and install OpenJDK 17. Windows/macOS: PokeMMO now offers an alternative rendering pipeline to OpenGL. To switch from OpenGL, select "ANGLE" under the Rendering Pipeline dropdown menu in the Settings. The game will automatically download the required files. On Windows, this changes the rendering mode to DirectX 9 or DirectX 11 (the higher of which is available). Note: ANGLE on Windows does not support 32-bit Windows. On macOS, this changes the rendering mode to Metal This mode will become default during the next game update for macOS. It is currently opt-in for testing Windows: The Compatibility Mode Software Renderer has been removed Users who were still using the software renderer after its deprecation in the 11/05/2021 Update will now be prompted to install ANGLE when a startup failure occurs. This mode allows native rendering via DirectX and improves performance significantly. The Windows Installer now contains both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the game. The installer will automatically select the appropriate version for your platform. 25. All data is up-to-date as of the August 2018 Update. I will update accordingly if/when nerfs or buffs happen. Update Log FAQs Welcome! This is that guide where everytime the devs change the payouts I want to die a little as I have to rebattle HUNDREDS of NPC trainers for the nth time. Originally I made this guide when it was extremely profitable to rematch NPCs for cash but nerfs have happened so that's unfortunate, but it's still a decent income. Data Collected This is EVERY re-matchable NPC in the entire game across 3 regions. (minus the Elite Fours) Swimmers and tubers are NOT included though because they're poor and not worth it. Payouts differ slightly each time you re-battle an NPC. Example: Might pay 3,700 one time, but 3,820 another. These totals were gotten while using the AMULET COIN while REMATCHING after defeating all E4s. These are NOT the totals you'll get from battling 1st time or early game rematching. KANTO TOTAL CASH = $ 341,744 SEVII ISLES TOTAL CASH = $ 93,580 HOENN TOTAL CASH = $ 229,265 UNOVA TOTAL CASH = $ 681,390 But, obviously, not all trainers are worth battling. So I made this custom money run in the section below to help players efficiently farm money from trainer rematches in a reasonable amount of time. Money totals have been rounded up/down for a cleaner look and easier maths. Hope you enjoy! Custom Money Run The most profitable trainers to hit for the time spent! This run makes 420k in 2-3 hours. It's basically just the trainers that give 3.2k or more (and aren't too outta the way), plus the gyms. Notes: Tips & Preparations KANTO Total Cash: $ 120,000 Battles: 19 [12 Trainers, 7 Gyms] Time: 45-50 minutes Walkthroughs: Trainers (6 hour cooldown) Gyms (18 hour cooldown - Post E4) Check out this guide by @RedactedColour for gym leader's possible teams: Kanto Gym Leader Rematches HOENN Total Cash: $ 130,000 Battles: 19 [11 Trainers, 8 Gyms] Time: 45-50 minutes Walkthroughs: Trainers (6 hour cooldown) Gyms (18 hour cooldown - Post E4) Check out this guide by @RedactedColour for gym leader's possible teams: Hoenn Gym Leader Rematches UNOVA Total Cash: $ 170,000 Battles: 19 [9 Trainers, 10 Gym Leaders] Time: 1 hour Walkthroughs: Trainers (6 hour cool down) Gyms (18 hour cooldown - Post E4) Thanks for checking out this guide! Any feedback is appreciated. Happy grinding!

  26. Hi everyone, As the game has increased in popularity over the Summer, RMT and botting related activities have also been increasing noticeably. There seems to be some misunderstanding about what isn't allowed in-game, so I would like to clarify that today. Real Money Trading and other illicit services upset the balance of the game by providing an unfair advantage to some players, and as such, are prohibited under the Terms of Service. RMT activities also contributes to other forms of cheating, such as where RMT vendors will use dedicated botting characters in order to create and sell gold. Since August, we have terminated more than 3,500 accounts related to RMT activity and botting, and are still banning hundreds per day. You may have heard stories of players professing their innocence by claiming that they were banned for trading with their friends, but we do not ban for normal trades with friends, transfers between alternate accounts, giveaways, or in-game sales of Gift Shop items. Often, players have been banned for receiving millions of gold from automated script characters while trying to hide the source of the money. Other times, players may have a dedicated botting character which they use to cheat on, then they are shocked when we take their main account, because they "weren't cheating on it." Regardless of how we find them, there is no statute of limitations to these types of rule violations. Usually, we will take action a few weeks after we find the violation, when they think they are safe. We are not immune to mistakes, but right now, the rate of approved ban appeals from these types of violations is less than 5%. When we make a mistake, it's almost always due to a legitimate trade with an RMT vendor. We believe this false positive rate is still too high, and we are working to improve it. In order to ensure the fairness of the game is maintained, we have diverted significant development resources to our administrative tools so that we can better handle this scale of cheating. We hope this knowledge will put normal players at ease. Finally, we would like to thank the players who have taken the time to report RMT and botting activity to the Game Masters. Reports help immensely, and we are very grateful for them.

If the final party members in a battle faint due to Rocky Helmet retaliation damage, the attacker is now the winner (previously, the defender would be). 31. Hello everyone! This is the first instatement of a "PokeMMO Development Blog". This is intended to be monthly or bi-monthly, and in the future, will contain concepts we are working on or have interest in working on. As there have been around 5 months of development with not a lot of indication of what we're doing, there's quite a bit to talk about. As has been said previously on our Forums, this update is primarily focused on handling our Kanto implementation's large amount of issues and preparing for our Emerald release later this year. Kanto Mechanics Polishing One of the main challenges in porting a single-player game to a multiplayer environment is reworking single-player-focused mechanics in order to create a sustainable gameplay experienced required for an MMORPG. This patch focuses on some of the worst offenders which would require players to create alternative characters for basic NPC functionality. Move Tutors Move tutors have always been a problem with old characters due to sometimes providing exclusive moves that can not be renewed except by trading to a new character. We've alleviated this by requiring in-game consumables for all Move Tutors and having them be able to be used unlimited times. Other regions' tutors have also been a subject of discussion, with us deciding to implement certain NPCs in the latter Sevii Isles areas which provide move tutor functionality normally exclusive to other regions. VS Seeker Rebalancing VS Seeker trainers have long been a source for extremely easy money gain due to the level disparities between an NPC and a normal player after completing the storyline. While this was acceptable in a single player game, it is not here. Rematch trainers' parties will now automatically scale to a level more appropriate to your character's progression, i.e. rematching a trainer with 8 badges will have you endure a harder match than that of a player with 1 badge. Money gain does not scale up from normal rematch rates, but EXP gain does, helping alleviate EXP grind woes of endgame players looking to build new parties. Dynamic Weather and Environmental Effects While this is not an especially large feature, dynamic weather is one of the many things that help a game's world feel more alive. It will now rain occasionally in the overworld, with each Island having different weather. Certain caves will now have thick fog effects. Certain environmental animations have been added as well, such as sand and beach effects. Direct Item Trading Direct item trading has been one of the primary limitations of the game's item-based economy, requiring you to attach an item to a party member before trading. This update alleviates this issue, with stacks of items being able to be traded directly. Artificial Intelligence Artificial intelligence has been a huge hurdle in creating difficulty in PvE content. The sheer complexity of the game makes creating meaningful AI a very difficult task, making this one of the main reasons why the current update cycle has been extended so far. With this, we will be introducing AI which: Uses attacking moves effectively Uses buffing moves effectively Swaps at appropriate times Choosing which party member to send out at appropriate times Utility moves are unlikely to be included with this update, but will be addressed in the future. This update provides us the ability to continue to create and tweak formulae which decide how NPCs react to player actions in real time. Z-Axis Support The Z-Axis is not a very utilized function in FireRed, primarily because it is a remake of an even older game. Proper Z-Axis support only fixes visual issues in Kanto (e.g. NPC rendering in the Fanclub, and certain tiles in caves) but is one of the larger server/client pre-requisites of our future Emerald preparation. Client Improvements Performance Improvements Memory management has been one of our worst issues, with various memory leaks in the rendering code causing symptoms like client crashing, visual texture bugs, and the GUI disappearing. Much of our time within the past few months has been spent working towards lowering the client's memory footprint and optimizing our existing systems. We've gone through, gutted most of our rendering code, and optimized it to the point where: The worst memory leaks have been resolved, where memory in use will no longer increase significantly over a player's session. This allows players to more reliably manage their memory usage via PokeMMO.l4j.ini, having the highest performance impact on very low-end systems with <768MB of RAM. Internal memory management has been heavily optimized, where internal garbage collection functions no longer run very often (causing lag spikes on extremely low-end systems). Memory management improvements also mean the removal of legacy code. This includes legacy GBA character colors from 2012, which will now all show as a standard sprite until custom Trainer Shots are created. While much of the optimizations are focused on memory management, small framerate-impacting optimizations have been done as well. Border rendering code has been improved to where borders will have very little to no impact on client performance. This primarily affected clients with unlocked zoom levels (a debug function), but had a performance impact for regular players where large amounts of border tiles were shown. Move Animation-related crashes have also plagued many of our players, but only largely began to be reported when commonly used moves' animations were implemented. This set of issues was commonly known as the "Swords Dance bug" but applied to every move animation. We have fixed many issues with move animations which would cause crashes on low-end systems during animation rendering. Many other crashes have been resolved as well, such as a very rare crash which could cause a player moving through a connection when performing certain actions to crash their clients. Most of the above issues do not affect a lot of players, but smaller memory footprints allow us to both support older desktop/laptop systems and reduce system impact for our future Android release. Extended Controller Support 3rd-party controller support has been one of the main features we have wanted to work on for the past few years. Our last update included basic controller support through the game client, but various GUI design flaws prevented us from a full implementation. With this update, we will be introducing controller support for all in-game GUIs except for the Chat and Settings functions as well as a wider array of controllers being detected. Community Suggestions and Other General Improvements Several small community suggestions have been implemented since our last patch including: Better shiny indicators for the "drag to chat" function. https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/33216-make-shiny-pokemon-obvious-drag-and-drop/ Improving the interface for breeding. https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/35943-show-more-information-when-retrieving-pokemon-from-the-daycare/ Displaying your own name for screenshot purposes. https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/35999-option-to-display-character-name-and-team-tag-above-own-character/ Some other small improvements that don't quite fit anywhere else include: The Hidden Power diviner interface has been improved. After paying this NPC, your party member's Summary window will now display its Hidden Power typing to yourself and other players. Summary windows will no longer require you to move them to see, at a glance, how many Summary windows you have open at a time. Battle sprites will now render behind Substitute sprites, to more clearly indicate what you are facing in the case of things like Baton Pass. Implementation of Borderless Window Mode, allowing players to perform other tasks more easily while playing PokeMMO in a fullscreen setup. Various small textures have been improved to more suitably fit PokeMMO. Trainer Tower and Battle Points Trainer Tower The Trainer Tower was one of the least utilized features in FireRed's international version. Instead of implementing the cut-down FR USA version of the Trainer Tower, we have taken the effort to manually compile all information from the original FireRed JP release. This provides us with a robust PvE experience where players confront 9 levels of various battles, with each player receiving their own dynamically built instance. Battle Points Battle Points are a new currency obtained through the Trainer Tower. This currency allows you to purchase high-end consumables and can be used to purchase certain Event Moves for your party. In the future, these will be acquirable through PvP Matchmaking. We did not feel that Matchmaking was currently in a state that would allow us to tie rewards to its functionality. PvP Improvements PvP Balancing Many further generation move or battle mechanics changes have been backported to PokeMMO for balancing purposes. These include: Critical Hit rebalancing, including Critical Hit damage multiplications, chance scalings, stage increases for high crit-ratio skills, base powers for high crit-ratio skills. Sitrus Berries have been changed to be more appropriate for Little Cup-type tournaments (changing their HP to percentage scaling instead of flat HP increases.) Many Accuracy/Base Power/PP-related changes have been backported to apply to commonly used skills. End of Turn effects have been standardized to an intentional order. Additionally, various move-related bugs that were ported from FireRed have been removed (e.g. Overheat causing Contact). A full list of balancing changes is not present here, but will be available during the patch notes. Tournament Mode Improvements Several improvements related to Tournament Mode are slated for this update, including: Inclusion of Tiering in duels. This allows players to choose which ruleset they would like to play in a Tournament Mode duel. Match durations will now have an option to be capped at 45 minutes. This is decided on duel start. Public Test Server and Future Development Plans Public Test Server The Public Test Server has been mentioned on the forums over the past few weeks as a way to preview upcoming content and have players find the worst issues in it. This server will run the latest concepts created by us, and will be considered unstable. The Public Test Server is not a replacement for the Live Server. It will have the following restrictions set in place to minimize impact on the Live Server during testing periods: The PTS will only be available during certain times, announced prior to bringing it online. This will be focused primarily on weekends in order to ensure the highest number of testers possible. This server will have a limited amount of player slots allocated to free accounts. Accounts with active Donator Status will be able to bypass queue restrictions. The PTS will provide certain debug tools ("cheat codes") required for the test at hand. These will vary depending on what is being tested. Character progress on the PTS will be removed regularly. This server will begin seeing usage a few weeks after we deploy our next update. Further details on how to access the public test server and the content changes between Live and PTS will be released shortly before it starts being used. Future Development Plans We have several sub-projects in the works which are intending to see release by the end of the year. Some of them are: Character customization will see a major overhaul, including implementation of Trainer Shot sprites (shown in the Trainer Card). The PokeMMO Client GUI is being analyzed for both functionality and design improvements. It currently suffers from an issue known as "programmer's graphics". Our second region is planed to be feature-complete by the end of 2014, with Emerald used as a base. Some further details about integration with FireRed may be seen at https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/42931-the-new-region-thread/?p=830926 Our first Android client implementation is planning to see its first public release in late 2014. This update is slated to be deployed shortly after Artificial Intelligence's first rendition has been completed. This is projected to be towards the middle of July. Thank you for your patience.

Make sure you are pressing the scan button and not the rescan button. 2.) Make sure the mouse is in the correct position when pressing the scan button. 3.) Make sure the font has been replaced correctly and pokeMMO has been restarted. 4.) Check to see that after you press scan the tabs are being switched automatically while it scans. If you cannot tell try going into Tools>Options at the top left of the programs main window and change both the delay and the click delay to a larger number (200 is a good starting point for both) If this fixes your issue you can start lowering them by 5/10 to increase the scan speed.
4.) IVs are completely off or not being narrowed down
1.) Make sure you are re-opening the summary window after every level up and that the correct level is displayed. If your pokemon has gained any EVs at all make sure you restart pokeMMO before scanning and/or use a calculator as the stats are not updated in-game until then. If neither of these things have happened or you are unsure delete the pokemon and start fresh making sure to follow these steps. If the data still shows up incorrect please post all information you have about it here. A: I have no plans of releasing it anytime soon if at all. Q: Will you make a mac version? A: Currently I have no way of doing so but that does not mean I wont in the future. Stay tuned! Q: What was this written in? A: This program was written in autoIt(v3) http://www.autoitscr...om/site/autoit/ Q: How do I know this program wont steal my passwords or keylog other information? A: There is never a way to know for sure whether or not a program will do more than it says it will but here are some steps you can take to protect yourself. Block the programs access to the internet in windows firewall http://www.technipag...s-firewall.html Run the program in an isolated environment like sandboxie http://www.sandboxie.com/ Scan the program with your virus scanner/anti-spyware and/or https://www.virustotal.com/en/ Let it be known that autoit is notorious for false-positives A false positive error, commonly called a "false alarm" is a result that indicates a given condition has been fulfilled, when it actually has not been fulfilled. In the case of "crying wolf" – the condition tested for was "is there a wolf near the herd?", the actual result was that there had not been a wolf near the herd. The shepherd wrongly indicated there was one, by calling "Wolf, wolf!". A false positive error is a Type I error where the test is checking a single condition, and results in an affirmative or negative decision usually designated as "true or false". Source: http://en.wikipedia....ve#Type_I_error AutoIt applications sometimes get a false positive report from virus scanners using heuristics, because the application is a self extracting executable. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AutoIt If you use sandboxie make sure to give it as little freedom as possible. There are many tutorials available on the web. Mainly just disable admin rights and internet access. These methods may not guarantee a program will not harm your system but they will definitely stop most of them dead in their tracks! Q: Can I make a donation to you? A: I'm still not sure about this... I guess send me a PM about it for now if you really want to Q: Can I add you as a friend in-game? A: Sure my IGN is Archalias Q: I got an error message what do I do? A: Take a screenshot (alt + prt screen) and upload it to an image hosting site like http://imgur.com/ Also open the file DebugData.txt and copy/paste that into http://pastebin.com/ Post both of these in this thread and I'll do everything I can to fix it for you!
Sorry if this post sucks :( I spent a very long time creating one but the window closed and I hadn't saved it...

    The Breeding Guide

*Not so new anymore kek What is the goal of this guide? 1. To explain the basics of the new breeding system. 2. To explain how to acheive a perfect 6x31, correct nature pokemon, and how much it will cost (on a monetary level). 3. To also provide a more "economical" approach to the breeding system. 4. If you wanna know how much breeding might cost you, check out OldKeith's Guide What is NOT the goal of this guide? 1. To argue about whether or not the breeding system should be changed. 2. To complain about losing pokemon in the process. 3. To vent anger at the system. 4. i.e. Anything not related to receiving/giving help with breeding Disclaimer: This is a TEXT HEAVY, Graphic Minimal guide. If you just want to know the basics of the new breeding, then read the numbered list below. If you want to know how to breed what you want, then delve into the sea of text in any of the following three sections. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Basic Breeding Video (Highly recommend watching, especially if you don't like to read): ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So, here are the most important mechanics in the new breeding system: 1. Both parent pokemon are traded away to the daycare couple and will NOT be given back to the player. 2. Two parent pokemon will produce ONE egg (no more, no less). 3. An egg will hatch over a period of time (no steps or flags anymore). 4. One can give an everstone to a parent with a desireable nature to have a 100% chance of passing that nature down to the offspring (the everstone WILL be consumed along with the parents). 5. Three IVs are passed down directly from the parents to the child. The other three IVs are then calculated by the averages of the parents, which are rounded down. 6. One can use a brace, which can be bought from a NPC who resides in each daycare for 10k each, and these braces can be given to a parent to ensure that a specific IV of your choice is passed down to the child (this DOES count as one of the three directly inherited IVs for the child). 7. If a pokemon has two potential abilities, then there is an 80% chance that the mother's ability is passed to the offspring. 8. The player is capable of switching a pokemon's ability with a consumable item; thus ability breeding is not a concern at the moment (mechanics for abilities will change in the future as stated here). 9. You can choose the gender of the egg for a fee, listed in the spoiler below, which scales with the species' gender ratio (the more unbalanced the ratio, the more expensive). 10. Genderless pokemon of the same evolution line (i.e. a magnemite and a magneton) can breed together. Note that you still cannot breed two dittos together (but ditto still can breed with any other pokemon). 11. Hidden Power breeding is mostly pointless, since you can get a 6x31 pokemon with any hidden power you want thanks to typed gems (look up mysterious gems). 12. This is a useful guide for egg move breeding. 13. You can shiny breed in this game. 2 regular parents give normal (1/30,000 + modifiers) odds of getting a shiny. You cannot breed a normal pokemon with a shiny pokemon. If you breed 2 shiny pokemon together, the offspring will be shiny. The IV's are passed in the following manner: 2 IVs are randomly selected, but can be dictated by Breeding Braces 2 IVs are randomly selected, but they choose a stat (of which cannot already be selected by the previous bullet point), and then picks the higher IV between the two parents the remaining 2 IVs are averaged between the two parents. Bred shiny pokemon's OT is determined differently than regular breeding. If the offspring pokemon is of the same evolution line as your OT shiny, then the offspring will have your OT. So, for example, you have a male shiny Charmeleon, and you breed with a random OT shiny female Charizard. Even though the female parent isn't your OT, the offspring Charmander will have your OT. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -credit to RacheLucario This section lists out step by step how to get a perfect 6x31 pokemon with the correct nature. Open the spoiler below (WARNING: prepare yourself for a wall of text and numbers) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This section is to give an example to a budget breeder's guide to breeding for a competitive pokemon. The goal is to get as close to a 31 speed and 5x25+ pokemon as possible with the least amount of money. This will use a lot less braces than the 6x31 section.

  36. Hello everyone, Earlier today we pushed out a Terms of Service & Code of Conduct update to clarify our stance on a few topics and fix minor typos in the document. To summarize, there is now a rule against defrauding other users. This means things like item theft, scams for services, and trade theft are now explicitly forbidden. This does not encompass "unfair" valuation of an item, but malicious intent when trading with other people. Thank you.
