  3. There is a lot of reason why I don’t want to host. • I take a lot of time and we (I) just finished with the psl teams and as a host it was really long and I put a lot of effort on it • making team based to country is always garbage since some country got +100 and others can have 2 players. • you can’t know if a player play for his country or if he join a country to play with his friend • allowed 2 teams per country is shit, and allow too much players per team is also bad for the competition. the best way to make a good World Cup is to allow like max 10 players per country and if I players isn’t picked for his country, he is allowed to sign up for his continental team (ex: rest of Europe) and even the continental team should allow max 10 players. So half of ppl here who were waiting for the WC 4 during one year would probably not be able to participate in this event if we want to do something correct without bullshit. of course that’s only my opinion. I’ll not be the host, but when the host is decided I’ll give him the host role in the WC discord, and I’m still here to help anyone who asked me for help :)

  6. After a long week of work, there is nothing more relaxing than a weekend near to the lake. Mrs. Bear was complaining about having to constantly move from region to region, but she enjoys sunbathing. She always insists on me to have a hat, I am unsure why I have to wear it in the cave but its not me who tries to sunbath in the cave, and as my grandfather used to say, you sometimes don't argue for the sake of sanity. There was a kid who came an hour ago but he was really bored quickly and went away. He was shouting something about shiny snakes, idk I don't understand the slang of younglings. The cave is pretty scary, some gyarados here and dragonairs, but Whiscash's smile makes me relaxed almost as much as though that I don't have to see hordes of pokemon attacking me.

    Log for Teams

Add a simple log for some events. I personally have had problems in the past in knowing if the player was kicked or left voluntarily, maybe someone else too. Another problem is for big teams, every time I see that the number of players has decreased, I have to ask if anyone knows who left or was kicked. It seems trivial, but some people like to have things organized. I made a model in paint to suggest how it might look: Thanks for reading.

  17. In the same way there will be changes at the end of the 3 months, and the other 2 will be filled, the difference is that with what I say, it will make those 2 months go from filling, to data for the final decision in the third month, because in the The current mode does not matter the use it has in those 2 months, it is as if they did not exist and the 3rd month yes, another case that I noticed was that of azumarill, the first month had 5% the second 6% and the 3rd 4% despite Of the use of the other 2 months low because only the third one matters, I do not ask for tier changes every month, only that at the end of the third, take into account the data of the other 2 previous, so there will only be a tier change in the 3rd month, but taking the use of the 3 Eliminate the tier changes the first 2 months and the 3rd make it but with the average of use of the 3 months played

  18. The issue with Snow Cloak and Sand Veil is that those two, while being equally disgusting in competitive environment, actually require specific circumstances (weather + ability abuser) to be activated. The only mons capable of abusing Snow Cloak are Froslass, Beartic and Glaceon, which are not exactly common NU mons thus the problem with this particular ability's case is abysmal, especially because the hail setters in NU are as uncommon (Vanilluxe, Abomasnow). Sand veil on the other hand gets used much more often as there are two sand setters in OU, both being widely used (Hippo and Tyranitar, together holding around 25% of usage) and Garchomp being the most common OU mon. When it comes to items like Brightpowder, those are much more difficult to detect due to lack of any kind of announcement that the item has activated and even less often used (and if they are- then it's most likely in doubles). Quick claw and King's Rock have a bigger impact during fights as there are more mons that can abuse them in every tier (OU- Cloyster, UU/ NU- any fast mon with Beat Up when it comes to King's Rock and Quick Claw is plain cancer). If you want to adjust the items, I'd suggest making King's Rock hit only on the first move on the multi-hit moves and not all of 5 (or 6). That would be a good step for things to go in the right direction. There are many more smarter people than me who can possibly come up with some other solutions regarding other abilities/ items, as I haven't got any idea about these just yet.

  19. When you're using something with stats as poor as Smeargle's, moves/strategies that don't rely on its offensive stats will likely get you the furthest. -Flat damage like Night Shade, Seismic Toss, Dragon Rage, Super Fang, and Endeavor (especially with Endure). -Damaging status moves like Toxic combined with stalling moves like Protect/Detect, Substitute, healing moves, or the strategy below. -Luck-based strategies, especially evasion. Paralysis and confusion are worth considering too. If you make a luck Smeargle, it'll likely be one of your most reliable. -Destiny Bond. A one for one trade will be worth it most of the time, and it's rare that a trainer has a full party so this can outright win you most battles if 5/6 have it. -Disable can buy you a turn and make something threatening much less of a threat. Use Protect/Detect first for safety or Encore if you want to make them Struggle. If you don't allow the usage of the GTL (it'd be against the spirit of the challenge to use it imo), you can farm useful held items from a lot of wilds. In Hoenn for example, the Wurmples have a chance to carry BrightPowder, which will likely be your best item choice for most of the game. Machops later on can also be found carrying Focus Band, which while unreliable, can work well with Endeavor strategies. The Pokedex is your friend if you've got a character you've caught everything on, it'll show you the moves and held items carried by wilds. Certain trainer classes have access to non-level-up moves, it's probably worth keeping a sketch available where possible in case you see something you like. Potions and revives let you buy your way past an otherwise difficult battle, it'd be more interesting not to allow them mid-battle, or at least to heavily limit them. No trainer ever has more than two items during the storyline, and they never use Revives. If you want to copy moves from one Smeargle to another, you can do this in double battles. In Unova, they're easy to find in dark grass. In other regions though, you'll be relying on trainers and trainer rematches. You can also copy moves by encountering a wild Ditto, but remember that it copies the speed stat of what it transforms into, so be careful if you use this method - you might get the wrong move if you're slower. Hoenn is the most difficult region to access double battles in - while there are a few during the storyline, it's the only region without rematches for every trainer, and it has no wild Ditto until postgame. The challenge sounds interesting, reminds me of the time a friend of mine tried to beat Unova with 6 Spinda. The fighting Elite Four member was where he hit a wall, but with Smeargle's versatility, it's almost certainly doable for you if you go in with a good strategy and a lot of luck.

  20. I can totally agree with the fact that 2 teams per country just makes 0 sense. I have discussed with a few people ways in which team composition (probably the biggest issue) could be improved, and came across a very good example such as VGC's World Cup's team compositions. https://www.trainertower.com/2020-world-cup-of-vgc-hub/ Teams like Peru and Colombia will be able to be separate countries as they have enough players to make a complete team (Probably a satisfied number of players from the same country will need to signup e.g. 10, to be able to make a team ). Oh yes, let's not forget about team Africa being a team. Now the problem becomes that some players may join random countries for various purposes. I think the only proper way to confirm that a player is from that respective country/region is to ask staff, however, would have to see if this is feasible. One method that can be discussed is the letting of "chosen captains" pick/double-check the players that have signed up. This method relies on the host trusting the captain from each country/region, to ensure that they have a team that can be satisfied and know full well that everyone in the team is from that country (As some captains from the past wc have addressed this issue). Of course, this method is not 100% accurate, but it starts minimising the main problem and the problem of randoms. Now the topic of randoms is a complete 50/50 story. On the one hand, these new players can experience a competitive scene in PokeMMO for the first time as Jorge mentioned and we will able to see impressive players come out of it as Cali mentioned. On the other hand, randoms can signup and never actually show up (this issue is probably coming from the usual stigma that "world cup" sounds like a great tournament and people that touch forums for the first time would probably see it and be like "ooh this sounds like fun, I will join after finishing my Kanto story hehe!"). This could most likely be fixed if the host Dmed every single person that got accepted by the captain and double-checks their viability and their motivation to participate in the tournament. & yes, as Mkns pointed out in the end, not everyone will able to play World Cup if we want this to be a big competitive tournament. Of course, there is still a lot of points and corrections I would like to go through but that is essentially the main part. Let me know what you think :) (Oh and....ehm...Showdown yes or no question mark)

  21. I'm fairly indifferent on the items. As has been repeated multiple times thoughout the thread, these items are bad, so it's not really a problem for the TC to address in the first place imo. Obviously they're just not fun to play against so it's an emotional topic. I am more interested in why this type of RNG is being rejected yet others like Snow Cloak/Sand Veil are more readily accepted by the community. I'd guess it's because they occur less often and abilities are more innate than items/moves, so you can see them coming, and you can't take them away without violating the characteristics of a species. Though, as has been mentioned in that smogon thread- it begs the question why others like BrightPowder have also been rejected. Anyway, smogon constrains themselves by the rules of the rom games, but we don't, so I don't really care what solution they ended up with. It is more our style to nerf something into the ground than delete it. We'd already decided last month(?) that the items need to broadcast their existence on sendout, but I'd be interested in rates adjustments as well.

  26. I agree. I don't see the issue with allowing players to select any Pokémon within the tier they're playing. It could allow people to experiment with unique sets without having to invest money into them, or allow newer players to get a head start on their 2nd/3rd team.

That's only if he's gonna use the items :0 , my bad I forgot to mention about it ^^' Also, yup it's kinda hard to setup, but isn't it easy with sash , just needs 2-3 turns of sleep , and you're sure to take out one poke And , it wouldn't be viable against the e4 anyways imo. So better to not waste a smeargle with the set .-.

  29. Oh hi, thanks for the feedback BlueZacian! Reading on it gives me some more insight on what I want to do, and yeah I think it's important to start slow on first 4 gyms. No item during battle probably gonna be hard, but I respect the point of view. As for streaming I might do so, but I will keep my journey updated through this post. So what I want to do is breed me some Smeargles for my run, or probably buy it if one is available for sale. I think nature and EVs will be important so somewhere along the playthrough I need to take EV training seriously. What do you think? And of course, more feedback would be great!

  30. Give us a gadget like a watch or something which we can access whenever we want to view the contents of our box. If you would like to move or withdraw anything then you need to go to a pc. All you can do with this accessory is to just have viewing permissions of the box and its content (mons). I would also suggest that we have the ability to link mons from our box to any chat we want through the accessory. Its just a QOL update but I believe it's an update that everyone will welcome.

    Bring event cosmetics back

Hi, thanks for taking the time to reply. I just want to address a couple points but in the end it all comes down to personal opinion, I believe. I agree that it is interesting to have something 'free' that will increase value over time. That being said, I'm not convinced that an economy where people becomes rich just by playing a season and then quitting for a few years is really healthy (This is what I do heh). Imho worth should come from effort (PvE) and proficiency at the game (PvP), not just from smart economic decisions (GTL). As things stand now consistent effort and actually winning battles is not doing anything for players. What we take from your stance is "donate/do events is a must to accumulate top wealth." Non-donators can also play the hoarding/investing game thanks to limited time items being trade-able. I also believe that having a larger pool of limited items hurts the ones with the actual [Limited time] tag. "The value of anything with a limited release, regardless of where it came from, is decided by players based on supply and demand." That's exactly it. If you cut the supply off, prices will just skyrocket. The potential for future release of event items can slow down this cost increase so items are not effectively unattainable. If you play it smart with an aleatory release model, then value can be retained for the holders and hope is provided for newcomers. You would get lots of additional interest in future events. I agree that the time for a decision is somewhat past, however. The decision was open up to the point you disclosed that event items were effectively limited. That being said I like that there is now a "Event only + Seasonal" tag combo, really interested to see how these items will fare. However, I believe the counterpart is missing; the event items are really not coming back should have a "Event only + Time limited" tag.

  37. Well, I'll admit World Cup 2 was very poorly hosted and extremely stressful. Too many hosts and especially too many changed decisions before other hosts had even the chance to review the cases and then having those hosts defend decisions they didn't agree with. And about that World Cup 2, I have to praise that Mkns and Suigin were great co-hosts that season so you can probably see where my frustrations were at. I would vouch Mkns to host any event in the game, anytime. I've decided that if I ever host anything I'll do it either alone or with 1 other people I truly trust to prevent any of that shitshow ever happening again. Currently my work weeks are too hectic to take such a responsibility for now and I do not want to be part of any big host group or anything like that.

    Bring event cosmetics back

At first we weren't really sure what we wanted out of them, but we realized fairly quickly that re-releasing them would be a bad idea. I don't believe that we've ever re-released an event item without a seasonal tag either (and those were only introduced this year). Event items have been kept exclusive to their release year largely because they act as the free player's limiteds, giving them something they can earn through gameplay during the event that will gain value over time. If these players are smart and patient with the items they earn, they can play the hoarding/investing game the same way donators do without paying a cent or being rich in-game already. If we unexpectedly re-released a single old event item, it would not only instantly crash the entire event item market overnight and kill a lot of trust players have in us, it would also arguably have the opposite effect to what you seem to want long-term. While it would make the older items more accessible, it would come at the cost of the vast majority of free players losing the ability to participate in the same sort of passive value gain that donators do with RP limiteds. It creates even more disparity between the two groups. The value of anything with a limited release, regardless of where it came from, is decided by players based on supply and demand. it's quite silly to pretend that it's anything else, especially when these items were free rewards earned by playing the game.

Tier OU (Over Used; Muy usados) Muy bien.... Sigamos; Ahora sigue..... Tier UU (Under Used; Poco usados) Siguiendo con la trama... Vamos a una tier aún mas oscura (? Tier NU (Never Used; Nunca usados) Y... de momento, por último... Tier UT (Untier; Sin Tier) Y pues...

  43. Why do people like you who have absolutely zero clue about PvP feel the need to comment on a PvP-related topic? Nonetheless, I'll still take the time and effort to entertain your worthless and uninformed opinion because there are a few who would genuinely want to know the answer to this. We want our pokemon competitive play to be on a level where there is a balance between luck and skill. There is going to be a conflict there because, in general, competitive play largely relies on skill over luck, yet we competitively play a game that uses a large number of luck-based elements. To balance out the two, we have clauses in place to minimize the amount of effect luck has on a game. Since you're absolutely clueless about it, here is a list of clauses in place: https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/37764-official-pokemmo-list-of-clauses-updated-with-tournament-mode-clauses/ The purpose of the clauses is so that people don't rely on luck-based strategies to overcome skill, because that in effect would kill competitive play. The purpose of the topic is to remove these specific luck-based elements (kings rock etc.) because these completely kill competitive play. We're not asking to remove crits / damage rolls / status because then we wouldn't really be playing Pokemon. Not every single thing has to be in the extreme end of a spectrum (one end being 0 RNG and the other end being 0 bans/clauses) because a balance of the two can exist.
