    About the spectator system

This isn't really about privacy, this suggestion is just an attempt to gain an advantage over those who struggles to fight the Pumpking to get more money off the event. You don't want your team to be "leaked" because you fear you won't be making as much money as you should. You believe it is unfair but what really is unfair here is trying to privatize spectating mode so that only a small group of players can benefit from it.

    New update

FOR DEVS I just wanna voice out, its just that i really cant just keep quiet as a player who spent weeks tryna study how E4 works, the teams, the movesets, items, strats on how to beat E4. Seeing how shedinja was nerfed, it kinda pissed me off tbh lol. Ofc, its not just because my guide and other players' guide are pretty much broken. Its just that shedinja was already nerfed with the Baton Pass before, and its not like the shedinja (postnerf) was a 100% success rate on E4 at all. I understand you did it to prevent players from "abusing" e4 to make money. Guess what? Most players prefer to Gym Rerun instead of E4 rerun. The reason? Its the difficulty of E4. Despite the teams made, there isnt any foolproof plan. There wasnt really any need to "balance" anything AT ALL. Nerfing shedinja's ability was basically the devs/SGMs saying "Either you pay more or we'll nerf it". "Oh, this guy's having it easy. Let's nerf it!" Seriously? Its basically making fun of the players who worked hard lol. I know, you can beat e4 without shedinja at all. But instead of making the game more convenient for players, you're just basically playing players a run for their effort. If this is just the result hardwork and dedication, whats the purpose of playing in the first place? This isnt the first time. I know in the past, a lot of players complained bc of Nerfs. And the purpose of those changes was to make players GRIND MORE. Play more. Buy more RP and stuff. Seriously. Don't you at least care for players? Or do you care more about Profit and the game MORE than the players? Devs arent helping at all. You can say whatever you want, this is just me ranting about the new update. Just a player who pretty much spent a lot of time only to see it wasted and ruined in one single update. No wonder a lot of the older players quit. Well, i love PokeMMo. But this update just fked me up. PEACE!

    About the spectator system

The Halloween event has been around longer than most of the players here who are claiming that they did their own "research" to come up with a 100% "original" team. Isn't it weird how they claim to have created their own 100% original team in 2019 and 2020, when the pumpking has been in pokmmo since 2018 and even 2016 and earlier? I can guarantee that the "original team" you are trying so hard to protect was at least 50% copied from some other player who farmed the event 1 year earlier. Even if we add this feature, everyone will come to the same exact conclusion regarding the best team to farm the event with - there are only so many possible configurations to win. Even if this suggestion is added, you will still see nearly every player using the same exact strategy, because there are only certain weaknesses, which people will all see & then learn to exploit. Not everyone is so greedy that they need to be paranoid about who is watching them. As @Riesz already pointed out, why is this only a problem since the CN community joined, and not for all the prior years? The entire rest of the world uses youtube but this wasn't a problem for 5+ years (perhaps because everyone realizes information will be spread regardless)? Why do we suddenly need a feature just to protect a specific website (BilliBilli) from spreading information? Word of mouth spreads even faster than you may think. Someone can share their entire team to 1 "friend" who can share to another "friend" and then another, and so on, and so on. Each "friend" may be trusted entirely, but the information reaches more and more players exponentially as it spreads from player to player. The entire pokemmo player-base is connected in this way. Asking someone not to share information is rarely effective. Therefore, even if this suggestion IS added, it wouldn't work. What's the point of creating more work for the developers? Secret team builds won't be effectively kept secret, when the developer's goals are to bring together the community in times of festivities and events such as Halloween and Christmas. We should really all just be happy we get to participate and come together as a community, instead of worrying about what other players are making money and who is not. It seems too greedy to bicker over.

  4. Changelog: 06/11/2020 Balancing (PvE) Wonder Guard will now fail after absorbing 2 attacks Bug Fixes The Matchmaking Service will no longer select the same species as the last reward pool when generating new monster rewards Only one cry per species in a fainted horde will now play Fixed an issue where players could become stuck if evolving a fainted monster while losing a trainer battle Fixed shiny particle playback for monsters which only had that particle

  5. You've either got to sell or want to buy a pokemon that has particles, but don't want to sort through 300 Drifloon with Spider's Web Particles before finding the Ghosts Particle. Adding a feature where you can select particles = yes and then start typing the name of the particle you want (or a drop down, but that'd have to be updated often). This will make life SOOOOOO much easier.

  10. Beating Pumpking isn't a race. You don't gain anything other than bragging rights for beating him first, and quite frankly it's extremely likely you weren't the first to do it. It's just as likely that the strategy you took time to research was one someone else already knew would work and shared with someone else. Word of mouth is something that simply cannot be stopped. Even if they were to overhaul the event so that it became an instanced dungeon, you won't be able to stop someone else from sharing a strategy. Just the simple act of you sharing your strategy with someone almost guarantees that it will be shared with someone else later. There's nothing you can do about that. In fact, in order for someone to fully replicate your strategy they would need their team to be on par with the team you used. This means moves, natures, abilities, held items, and equivalent EV/IV spread. The only part of that list you can 100% guarantee came from the strategy you used is the moves and just having that one piece does not make for automatic success. As far as monetary investment is concerned. Can you 100% guarantee that each person who you claim to have used your strategy didn't spend anything to ensure they can replicate it? Absolutely not. There is no possible way for you as a player to verify that each person who you claim to have used your strategy didn't have to spend some money and/or time putting it together for themselves. This is the simple fact of life. Very few players are going to have your exact team just sitting in their PC box. If you used a comp team then you should already know that comp players are a minority of players in game, which places the odds of someone just having your team in their PC by happenstance even lower. In the end it balances out.

  12. Why am I still on the blacklist while MiraiZura can continue betting with her GasaiYunoSan account?
    5 points
  13. .....no because there's no way in hell matchmaking and tournaments would disallow spectators. But where was the outrage when every Chinese player ran that team? Was dray even mad about it? No, he didn't care because he's been around long enough to know that this is a game, a massive multiplayer online (that's what MMO stands for, fun fact) game. If you want privacy you can go play Pokemon on an emulator and hack something like pumpking into it. In an MMO, information and experiences are always going to be shared. If people watch me and learn, I'm happy I get to help someone overcome the nightmare that is pumpking. If they claim my team was theirs, that's kinda sad but whatever, they're that kind of person and no one likes that kind of person. Not my problem. Tell me one of your strategies that was "stolen" and I can promise you I can show you a post/video/guide from before you ever played this game that uses a similar team or strategy. What happens if I accuse you of stealing the idea then? Anyway, that's irrelevant. More importantly, an MMO (massive multiplayer online in case you forgot) involves people interacting with each other and learning from each other. If someone copied you, you should be proud of yourself! Your research helped others! I don't get how you don't see all the arguments made about how selfish it is that your entire post is profit motivated and money and credit are the only arguments you've been using. I haven't seen a single solid argument from people supporting this, just anger, name-calling and one story for context (which isn't an argument). Remember, it's a game, you're supposed to be having fun and helping each other out. Relax c: Addressing the other complaint about "I spent 15m making pokemon whole the other person only spent 3m D:" Dude, pokemon aren't untradable. And you can sell literally anything you breed for profit unless you're bad at breeding, and if you're bad at breeding, git gud. So that's not a legit argument either. (Also, think about it: if pokemon were real and battles actually happened, and if you were battling a giant thing like pumpking out in the open, how would you stop others from watching? Can't think of a single way that doesn't sound absolutely ridiculous or break immersion? Thought so)

    About the spectator system

If we achieve this privacy for pve, it is illogical when for pvp in tournaments everything can be visualized. what do we do? privacy also in pvp? none of this makes sense, the community was always like that, there was never privacy for pvp or for official tournaments, you want privacy for something pve that helps the whole community, instead of getting angry because they can copy your pvp team. When they started using the team UU screen, many Chinese players also copied the team, right? this is KARMA

This isn't really about privacy, it's a game lol... people just always want an advantage over others Lastly, the Torkoal strat has been around for years, so stop pretending that you invented it.

  21. If spectatorship is hidden for future pumpking battles then I will personally share a step by step guide of the team needed to beat the pumpking and the battle turns. I will contact every friend I know and get it translated so the world can see and profit off of it. Imma do this just out of spite. Events like these are made for the entire community to enjoy and make loads of money at the same time. Instead of being greedy, just enjoy the events along with your friends, make loads of money together and move on. Smh

    About the spectator system

A couple points to yield here. There is a legitimate argument that can be made for toggling spectating for your battles, but there are still issues with the idea. 1) The option can only work in PvE battles. There isn't a good way to reconcile the differences in PvP as some players prefer spectators while others don't. This is why PvP challenge dialog allows the option of making the match private when you send the request. The other player has to agree to this kind of match. Official tournaments are not likely to ever disallow spectators in any means so you are really asking for a means of blocking spectators in PvE. 2) Complaining about others "stealing" your team is quite honestly an illegitimate argument. As I've pointed out. The Pumpking existed well before there was an established Chinese community. Not once in the past 5 years has anyone every complained about their team and strategy being "stolen". This is honestly because the majority players don't care. The outcome of a PvE event that everyone has access to doesn't affect them in the least. Someone replicating your team has absolutely no effect on you in any manner. It is just as likely that someone used a strategy that had high success years ago that they adapted to the current changes. It is also just as likely that the means of reliably beating Pumpking without inducing sleep were already known prior to anyone in the Chinese community "discovered" them. It's the nature of the beast. Think of any team build. If you think it's original then it's probably already been thought of and used in the past. PokeMMO has been around for 8 years now. The odds of you coming up with a wholly original team are slim at best and non-existent at worst. This is the nature of the beast for any kind of strategy game. Pokemon as a franchise has existed for almost 30 years. Games that have been around that long are likely to have almost every viable strategy known in some manner. You are not going to have a wholly original strategy unless you make a brand new strategy game.

I am Chinese too. I did not fight Pumpking Hard coz I dont think i can beat it I am not favour nor against this suggestion but isn't this event is to bring joy and fun to our community? Isn't a community should be caring and loving? If a event is causing so much problem, might as well all events be cancelled and we will just have normal MMO lives

  26. Dear management,I m a player who was played pokemmo for two years. This Halloween event bothers me a lot.Makes me feel bad.Due this spectator system, bothers me and my team. Our team spent lots of money to find out how to defeat the pumpkin king easily. But due this spectator system, strangers can directly STEAL our research results.Whats more, some network anchor even watch us live.Led to our building being quickly leakded out. This behavior greatly dampens our enthusiam and we feel that our privacy has been violated. This is the case this year,as is the event last year.My team and I have been troubled by this for two years. Therefore,we strongly recommend adding a setting to the spectator system. For example: only friends in the game can watch the game or plays have the right to refuse or allow others to watch the game. The only time I've used critdra is 2+ years ago when I brought to life what I considered to be an "innovative, cool, high quality cheese set", never in recent times. Naturally, I have faced it countless times in tournaments / matchmaking but I very very rarelly lose against it. It's not broken, it just requires you to be good at building.

  33. Why you need this to be implemented. First Of All The required pokes to defeat the pumpkin(each year) hit too high value during the event, you know why?? Because People SHARE Their teams to others. From 30th October - 1st Nov torkoal + yawn + lvl 100 pokemon value were nearly 1m or even more because all the listed torkoals with yawn sold instantly when some people shared their strategy of torkoal. And after torkoal yawn turned useless then chandelure value hit high because people shared the effectiveness of chandelier vs pumpkin. People will always share their halloween effective team to their friends for free. That's how the system will work and people will also share the steps to beat the pumpkin(except some ppl) . And Some people also help others to beat the pumpkin in the normal mode, implementing this suggestion will make it hard. This suggestion will not save your MONEY but can make many people lose their chance to get the event only vanity from the help of their friend.

gbwead Maybe u don't know what happpened, let me tell u. Because im a Chinese, i konw sth about that. XD In both 2019 and 2020, there were always some people doing noting, but just stand beside the pumpking king, using the spectator system to OB how others fight against the pumpking king. When they saw someone was able to beat the king, they will immediately copy his method. Maybe up tp now, it just OK. But after that they will video this method and upload it to Bilibili (a web like Youtube) in order to attract fans and get income. What make we became more anrgy was when we told them: Please indicate the author in ur vidio. They will insist that, the team it is his original. When we give evidence to prove that he plagiarized, he even incited his fans to abuse the originator online. :( This kind of things had happend twice in China. Actually i dont want it happen again, so im very agree to this suggest. XD

  39. ^ Read that You cannot 100% without a doubt prove anybody "stole" your research. Pumpking has existed for several years. The typing has not changed since it was first introduced. This means that way back in the day someone could have already found an effective strategy and adapted it to the changes over time.
